With FSN still off Bright House, Orlando Magic fans find other ways to follow games

The message boards for the Orlando Magic often have provided prompts that can help other fans find a pirated feed of the game. It's not the most reliable method, but sometimes it works.

Last week's home game against the Detroit Pistons, for example, was carried by FSN, but some Bright House customers watched the game on their computer by going to channelsurfing.net, which carried a live feed. Others go to NBA.com, where they can get a running score by hitting the refresh button on their computer.

These guys are blowing our cover! Good way to get channelsurfing.net kicked off the net

Thanks Orlando Sentinel!

Magicdepth, was this your quote below, from the Sentinel's website?

Thank you idiot. Screw it up for all of us who depend on the internet to see the games. Why did you have to get so specific? Think next time.

Regardless of who the above quote was from, this Knightshift guy below makes a great point.

Dude, did you really think channelsurfing.net was going to stay a secret forever? You had to know once word got out, it would spread like wildfire. Enjoy it while you can. That site is violating so many copyrights, you know its eventually going to get taken down. Either that or whoever is running it will eventually start to charge people to use it....AFTER they have wetted our appetite for it.

Well this tells you everything about brightHou$e

FSN has insisted on being part of a standard and more inexpensive package like other NBA teams has with a regional network. Bright House wants FSN only for a pay-extra sports tier, hoping to set a new standard for other cable companies to follow.

I've been pointing this out for a while if you go back and read the brightouse/fsn thread. This is the reason I lay most of the blame on brighthouse. They are trying to change the landscape of cable sports charges and picked us as a place to make their stand. Not only are we getting hosed, but they are looking to set a precedent that will change the way they charge other areas across the country.

This is why I applaud FSN for making a stand and not giving in to their demands. Therefore, I lay the blame mostly at the feet of brighthouse, and partially with the Magic as well for not having the foresight to see this coming and have a contingency plan to continue bringing their loyal fans the product we all know and love.
