spenny 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2007 In his first season, Batista averaged 1.8 points and 2.5 rebounds in 8.7 minutes and 57 appearances. He is the first ever Uruguayan NBA Player. Dont we have someone who can produce those numbers and speaks english in Augie. We need veteran big man help.

You really like this guy Matiasjj, you've mentioned him previously. I feel there is a reluctance toward Euro players in this league. I'm not aware of the history of Esteban, but in regard to others I see a slight reluctance. Its an element that is slowly changing as the Euro boys continue to progress, but I think their are some players who are lacking the opportunity to really show and grow in the NBA system. Caco 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2007 I really think he could help the Magic. Look at his number so far in Las Vegas Pre-Olimpic qualyfing tournament. He owned Puerto Rico yesterday, and if not for a bad game vs Argentina he would be probably leading the tournament in scoring also. Scoring 1. Barbosa, Leandro Ma (BRA) 27.3 2. Batista, Esteban (URU) 22.3 3. Anthony, Carmelo (USA) 21.3 4. Beck, Romel (MEX) 21.0 5. Redd, Michael (USA) 19.3 6. Romero, H
