I've been following a guy who called 

Cavs vs GS 2015 (b4 season started)

Cavs vs GS 2016 (knowing they would come back from 3-1)

NE vs eagles 2018 Superbowl (b4 season started)

Idk how this guy does it, but believe what you want I don't mind taking peoples money on bets. Its entertainment

Wasn't gambling the only legal issue? Not the fact they were rigging games

1. Federal match fixing laws through gambling. 

2. Defrauding investors of the indemnified teams

3. Employment law as the players contacts usually have performance based bonus thresholds that require good faith from the league.

The issue is they rigged games people gambled on. It's the same basic reason why you're not allowed to rig slot machines. 

In theory you can rig games that people don't gamble on our that have no financial incentive. Like it's not illegal for the Harlem Globetrotters to have rigged games. But as soon as there's a financial incentive and the games are portrayed as random events it's illegal
