Incredible trade. The draft picks are definitely intriguing as the 2 firsts come from Dallas and Toronto and the 2nd rounder comes from Charlotte. This also finally makes Houston relevant again. Fantastic deal for both.

What's the protection on both picks?

Harden will become a free agent next summer if Houston doesn't sign him to an extension by Oct. 31, but sources told ESPN.com's Marc Stein late Saturday the Rockets intend to sign the swingman to the max contract extension he was seeking from the Thunder before Wednesday's midnight deadline.

That is ballsy.

Woj reported "varying degrees of protection" but the Toronto pick is a guaranteed lottery pick.

That's just amazing. Great deal for OKC.

Thunder pushed final offer to Harden to 4 years, $53M-$54M, sources tell Y! When that couldn't get deal done, Presti moved into trade mode.

Houston plans to give James Harden a four year, $60 million extension once deal is completed, league sources tell Y! Sports.

To clarify on the Harden extension in Houston, the Rockets could do a four or a five year, maximum extension with him.

Houston hasn't been allowed to start negotiating a deal yet with Harden's agent, Rob Pelinka, but will do so once paperwork is complete.

The Rockets have been determined to trade for an All-Star player, have him in Harden now, and he'll have a max deal by Wednesday's deadline.

Presti did a quick thinking and prevented a Hardenmare from happening. I praise him for that.

Significantly better pieces for a far inferior player to Dwight. Congrats to Presti for getting something of value back for a player who didnt want to sign. To bad we didnt dump Dwight for Martin and pieces and send Martin to OKC for more pieces. At least we only have one way to go at this point...up.

Afflalo is better than Martin and Harkless is at least on the same level of prospect as Lamb. I will say that K-Mart's contract is more team friendly than Afflalo's, but it isn't like Afflalo is making 20 million a year. He is a good player, teams will take on salary for good players.

From what I understood this offseason, this was essentially the deal we wanted for Dwight but HWNSNBU threatened blacklisting Hennigan and other crap. May be just rumors but still...
