Keeping Dwight Howard

Recommended Posts

Ok, I hope Otis Smith or someone sees this and everyone toss in your thoughts or other ideas if you have any! But the NBA is is changing, stars are coming together obviously and im sitting back seeing Dwight want another big name and maybe we don't need Chris Paul... We have Jameer who's a great shooter and passer, but how about Andre Igoudala! He's being dealt right now and I feel as if we can give a dried up Hedo and throw in a pick or any other name thats not Richardson, Nelson or Howard? Even Bass? Maybe we can get Brand or Thaddeus Young in it for some other players/picks?

Thoughts?

I think as fans we can cheer our team. Discuss them. Support them by going to games, etc.

Posting trade ideas and hoping our teams general manager stumbles by them, or even takes them into consideration goes along with thinking a unicorn with big breasts is going to drop a bag of money and popsicles at my doorstep tonight.

I didnt say he has to do anything, it is just a suggestion/idea. I never said I would stop supporting the team, but to KEEP Dwight Howard. i guessing you dont care if he leaves? because that's giving in our Title chances and supporting someone else. We've built around him for years and we cant let it all go to waste empty handed

Why would you think Otis Smith is trolling a message board for trade ideas?

If you really want to get his attention, you should start driving back and forth down his block at 5mph for 10 hours straight. Then he'll know you mean business with your idea.

hahaha great idea, but the team manages this website and at least has someone affiliated with them scrolling through this looking for 'foul play' or what is being said. This is basically a way of them hearing the fans out and giving us a basic way to converse.

There's already a giant thread full of trade ideas, though. . . and no, Otis isn't going to search through message boards for ridiculously lopsided trade ideas, and he isn't going to listen to an intern telling him he read a ridiculously lopsided trade idea from the TBN board. . .

Ok so im guessing you are best friends with Otis? or anything else? I work with ESPN and hear all the time how these people check up on this to hear what the fans have to say. So im sorry but your incorrect, and go see how much cap room Philly would save with a trade like this, they just want Iggy gone and especially if there is a new CBA. After you check the cap room come let me know, there have already been reports.

Do you not know what a CBA is?

How would I not know what a CBA is? The NFL is in the same stupid disagreement but at least the NBA is looking better, but i meant new CBA as if they didnt agree to something very similar to what they have set, because if the cap ends up dropping thats what propels Philly.

Based on your descriptions, it seems as though you decidedly DON'T know what a CBA is.

A collective bargaining agreement is what allows sports leagues(or really anyone) to bypass current US employment and hiring laws by having representatives of both the employers and employees, by way of a union contract, agree to predetermined conditions.

The salary cap would be, in most situations, jaw-droppingly illegal. However, because the CBA is agreed to, it is allowed under US law.

But the salary cap is neither the only part of the CBA nor is it the only illegal part of the CBA. In reality, the issues in the CBA regarding salary have far less significance in the CBA document itself than other, more financially based concepts.

Not to mention: a new CBA that demands a mandatory lower cap number would have to, financially speaking, either be incremental or allow for one or more amnesty provisions. In either case, the trading of Iguodala would become gi-normously redundant.
