Jagsfreak27 44 Report post Posted November 27, 2010 J.J. Redick, Carter's replacement in the starting lineup, scored 15 points and added five assists. The team's ball movement — an intermittent problem for the Magic so far this season — seems to be better with Redick starting. Redick is a lot more active without the ball and that's and undisputed fact, but he doesn't have the ability to take a game over by himself like Vince does, with the possible exception of the Toronto games. ;) It's gonna be a tough call for SVG to make and it might be wise to keep Carter's legs fresh for the postseason. The offense just keeps moving when JJ is in the line up. He also shares the ball better with Lewis and Dwight. It's a no brainer after yesterdays game. 1
OrlandoFeds 34 Report post Posted November 29, 2010 Did people watch the Heat game? JJ didn't win us the game, Nelson did. JJ was consistantly set up with open looks due to the driving ability of our little man who showed up for the big game.
sharp/7/shooter 23 Report post Posted December 1, 2010 Bringing this back, because we have been off to slow starts, like usual, this season. I think Redick provides more ball movement when he's involved in plays and along with Jameer, can set the tempo of our offense. VC can come in looking to score, or Q can if Vince wants to start as the SF. I like Redick finishing games, so we could start the 2nd half with a different lineup (our current starting lineup for example) and set a time schedule for him to sit during the game. So, lets say VC comes off the bench, or if you want, replace Q for VC in this scenario (this is only SG, SF substitutions): 1st QTR: JJ starts (SG=JJ, SF=Q) VC enters game, JJ sits: 7:00-5:00 remaining (SG=VC, SF=Q) MP enters game, Q sits: 6:00-4:00 remaining (SG=VC, SF=MP) 2nd QTR: JJ enters game, VC sits: 12:00-10:00 remaining (SG=JJ, SF=MP) Q enters game, MP sits: 8:00-6:00 remaining (SG=JJ, SF=Q) VC enters game, JJ sits: 5:00-3:00 remaining (SG=VC, SF=Q) MP enters game, Q sits: 2:00 remaining (SG=VC, SF=MP) 3rd QTR: VC starts (SG=VC, SF=Q) MP enters game, Q sits: 7:00-5:00 remaining (SG=VC, SF=MP) JJ enters game, VC sits: 4:00-2:00 remaining (SG=JJ, SF=MP) 4th QTR: Q enters game, JJ sits: 10:00 remaining (SG=MP, SF=Q) VC enters game, MP sits: 8:00-7:00 remaining (SG=VC, SF=Q) JJ enters game, Q sits: 7:00-4:00 remaining (SG=JJ, SF=VC) PT averages: JJ: ~25 min VC: ~28 min Q: ~20 min MP: ~23 min This way, we keep Carter fresh and everyone can enjoy their respected minutes. Obviously, these can fluctuate depending on their in-game performance. What do yall think? EDIT: actually, I'd change Carter's minutes to around 31 and JJs to around
Franchero MVP 391 Report post Posted December 4, 2010 VC plays ridiculously well with the bench. Much better than JJ IMO. If we're not gonna start JJ, then we should take Vince out a little early in the second quarter and then utilize him when the bench comes in.
