The Official "trade for ____ ? Thread"

Yeah, I agree with echo, that might be a good idea. Most of the trade ideas are "wishful thinking" as Rock9311 stated in his own trade thread. Nothing wrong with being a fan, but also need to understand it clusters up the forum when too many people are having wishful thoughts at once. There has to be a way to clean it up so it's easier to discuss hot topics.

im going to start moving/deleting any thread that has

 

1. Players included that aren't linked to the magic at all

 

and

 

2. Players that aren't even said to be available.

 

For example, while the Al Jefferson thread is ridiculous he's at least been talked about as a possible trade piece with Indiana. We can at least have a discussion about that. But stuff about Andre Iggy, Pierce, Billups, etc should be closed because nothing can come from a thread that operates with so many unlikely premises.

still not sure why the age old rule isn't being observed. if you don't want to see it. don't open it. don't comment on it. don't do anything about it. posters that post that normally just want a reaction. and yes you still are nazi mods.

if its just one or two threads on the front page then that usually works. The problem is we're having 5 sometimes 6 random trade threads per day with no point other than to say "magic should trade bass gortat and pietrus for brandon roy because he would be good here and they need a center". That type of post can't add to discussion because it will never happen under current circumstances.

 

When you have several empty threads like that it clutters the board and possible good discussions get pushed farther down. Not to mention those threads are more likely to encourage improper board behavior so us mods have to look at them more diligently.

BTW sean williams was waived from NJ today. perhaps we can use him for big man depth. I dont follow his game and dont know why he was waived.

Off the court he seems to get into some situations that aren't very beneficial to his social standing.

 

On the court he seems to get into some situations that aren't very beneficial to him staying on it for very long.

 

That being said, he is young and an extremely athletic player that plays top notch defense when he isn't fouling. Plays both Center and Power Forward.

I have always liked his game and feel he would be worth it. I don't think Otis would go with his character issues though.
