COLOMBIANO 118 Report post Posted July 2, 2009 If we matches offer for Gortat we still have the full MLE to split it into a couple of players. I don't think Bass will sign for 2 mil. Magic will not offer full MLE to Sheed so he may end up in Boston or SA
New Guy 11 Report post Posted July 2, 2009 Denton is crazy if he thinks Orlando could get Bass for $2 million.
Jareth Cutestory 678 Report post Posted July 2, 2009 So are we considered successful if we resign Gortat, or would only some other team be considered amazing for doing so?
magicfan83 23 Report post Posted July 2, 2009 I hope it's just sign-and-trade leverage. A sign-and-trade for Gortat and the full MLE to Sheed/Bass/McDyess makes so much sense. Gortat's offense at the 4 was equivalent to Tony Battie's defense and rebounding.
orlandomagicin09 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2009 it's starting to sound we won't land mcdyess/rasheed/bass which is depressing....we will have to relie on some average role players
Give Me Redick All Day 109 Report post Posted July 2, 2009 Sounding like we're gonna lockup Gortat, then settle for a remaining roster of minimum guys. Unless we get lucky on getting Dice, or Bass, for 2 mil. Ugh...

Jareth Cutestory 678 Report post Posted July 2, 2009 If Gortat develops a J consistently, then I'd say a lineup up Dwight/Gortat/Lewis still would cause major mismatches.

New Guy 11 Report post Posted July 2, 2009 Gortat is a center...that jump shot would not come easily at all. He also has terrible, terrible, terrible form. Good luck with that. I love Gortat but, the guy should be playing center. That is what he is...I also wouldnt doubt that he would be upset again because, he's not going to get a lot of minutes this year. There is just no way to give him extended minutes. And Denton mentioning JJ starting again. That is vomit inducing. epic failure.

Sounds like the Ariza situation all over again. We're going to match the offer sheet... The question is do we trade him after matching or do we keep him.
