MagicMan83 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2007 1.) Sign Darko to an extension and then trade him with Bogans,Garrity and 2 second round picks to Milwaukee for Charlie Villanueva,Bobby Simmons and this years 1st round pick. 2.)Trade Dooling and Arroyo to Memphis for Stoudamire and Swift. 3. Sign Bonzi Wells or Flip Murry 4. Sign Steve Blake 5. Re-Sign Grant Hill so 2008 roster PG Nelson/Blake/Stoudamire SG Wells-Murry/Redick/Simmons SF Hill/Ariza/Turk PF Villanueva/Swift/Augustine C Howard/Battie I know we are taking on a bad contract with Simmons but if it gets us a high draft pick it's worth it. Villanueva is a big low post scorer who rebounds well.Swift is a shot blocker who can help Dwight block shots in the paint.Stoudamire is an old vet and can be a solid backup point guard but he has the plenty of experience and can start if needed. Wells is a risk but if he plays at a high level he will be the scorer we need.Steve Blake is a pass first point guard and if Nelson does not get his act together Blake can be our PG of the future. The best part of all is that we have a top 5 pick! GO MAGIC! Then in 3 years we will have a ton of cap room with Simmons,Battie and Turk all coming off the books. Thats the year when Wade and James are Free Agents.

RONGY 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2007 SO YOU WANT TO TRADE HALF OF THE TEAM AND KEEP AI WANNABE MR SELFISH JAMEER NELSON? IF WE GONNA TRADE SOMEBODY,THE FIRST ONE SHOULD BE NELSON.THEN,BRING STOUDAMIRE?FOR WHAT?ARE YOU IN DRUGS?
MagicMan83 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2007 Nelson has a cap friendly contract. He is worth keeping around for another year to see how his game goes. We won't lose anything by keeping him with Steve and Damon on the roster.
barnettej 263 Report post Posted April 25, 2007 Okay thats not to bad but there some major questions that must be asked. 1.) Why would we give away money, Signing Darko will include a signing bonus.... less money for us to work with in FA. If we are going to trade the guy, why not just hold out for FA since he is a RFA. I dont know this off the top of my head, but cant we impose a 1st round compensation pick for Darko, if any one wants him? 2.) WE are giving away one of our best defensive players in Dooling for 2 guys that arent known for any defense....? 3.) Bonzi is a bust for the most part, he hasnt shown any team in the NBA that he wants to play. I mean he was on the easist team to play for, that has established super stars and play makers...... All he had to do was pass the ball... and now Houston is saying good bye to him. So why would we want him? 4.) Steve Blake isnt going anywhere, he is on a championship caliber team...... why would he come to a team that is 2 to 3 yrs away? We would have a better chance of trying to get Telfair, and keep him on the straight and norrow... he knows he doesnt have that many chances left in the NBA, and he knows that he doesnt want to go back to his "hood", so im sure he is going to fix his small problems. Telfair might be a steal for us. 5.) Grant Hill being resign will have to depend on what he wants, we dont need to re-sign him if its going to hurt our FA shopping.... I like the guy but he is playing on "bad" wheels. I do like your thinking of trying to retool the team, because they need some major changes. But we should be smart in doing so, there for we should grab guys who are going to grow with our young stars.

But we should be smart in doing so, there for we should grab guys who are going to grow with our young stars. The reason we trade Darko is to get Charlie Villanueva. Also Simmons might come in handy. the NBA is not like the NFL we can not demand compensation is another team wants to sign our Free Agents. I agree that it will hurt to give up Keyon Dooling. I would like to keep him around as a 2 guard. The problem is he is not very good at facilitating an offense. Damon Stoudamire can get our young players involved and he has playoff experience and can execute. Swift is another big body with a great wingspan, he would be a good counterpart to Charlie Villanueva. Like I said Bonzi is a risk but he has something to prove. He lost alot of money by leaving Sac.If we can sign him to a 3 year deal worth about 4 million a season I think it would be a good chance to take.If he is not willing to sign we can go after Murry. He filled in for Ray Allen in Seattle and scored about 20 ppg filling in for Allen back in 05. He is a player who can be signed cheap. The Denver Nuggets are not a championship caliber team. If we offer him a longer contract worth more money I think he will leave. I agree that Telfair could be a good player, I just dont know if he could help us. He has not really done anything in the NBA.

They want to trade Villanueva, If they also get rid of Simmons they have more cap room for this offseason. They want to go after Billups, this allows them to make a max offer to Billups and Carter. The deal would work with our cap-space. Arroyo still has 2 years left on His contract and Dooling one. The reason we make the trade is to get an experienced and another big. I already said why I think we should go after Bonzi. Who cares if we have to overpay to get Blake, we need to do something. I would rather take a chance on him then offer 1 player a max deal and hope it works out. Yes,Dwight and Charlie will have new deals but Charlie is not on Dwight's level. He will make about 8 Million a year and Dwight will be Maxed out.Assuming we re-sign Ariza we will have 5 playes still under contract. Blake,Ariza(if re-signed),07 draft pick,Vil,Howard. If things work out with the team we dont need to worry about protecting the cap space but if it does not we are able to go after free agents that summer.
