Neither. I think we need to wait until summer league and free agency period ends. There are going to be other players waived or unsigned that we might Find useful at a cheap price.

If that was the case then I will it kept Ibaka and likely play him at the center position. Smith/Booker/Fournier/AG/Ibaka.

Wow. I think you are going overboard here. First of all, to say he is the worst pick EVER in the orgainzation tells me either you are not really a fan or are very sentimental at the moment "drunk". clearly Fran Is the worst In my opinion. Second, it is too early to even make a judgment here. As stated above, he has not had a real chance yet to play in a stable system. Lets see him play this year before making any further judgment. He clearly has the talent.

Very different. Place Gordon on any college team now and see him play against college kids. You will be amazed.

Miami and Milwaukee are teams that you dont know r what to expect from them. I will also add Detroit to that list. They can be all good as well as very bad. It happened last year with Miami beating all expectation and Milwaukee under performing. I can see us splitting games with those three team but I agree. They will end up ahead of us in my opinion. That is the reason why i see us ending in that 9-10 position in the East. but will not be surprised if somehow we end up above those two teams.

Ok. I think we should break down our schedule so you can see it better. In the East conference there are 15 teams. Out of those 15 teams, I think we are better than New York, Brooklyn, Chicago, Atlanta and likely Indiana. That makes us a top 10 in the east. Now, i see us likely at par with Detroit, Milwakee, Miami and likely Philadelphia.( i dont think philadelphia will be able to keep all players healthy and adjustment with all this new players can be an issue). So best case scenario we will end at 7 but most likely arount 9-10.

We might be a slightly better so, maybe 5-10 more wins. Expectations are low, players are playing for contract extensions, stability with the coaching staff and more importantly the East has gotten worse.

I am ok with Isaac over Smith. I dont buy that it will take years for Isaac to develop. He should be able to produce and be part of the rotation this year. We have to make a decision on Gordon, Mario and Payton future with the team this year. What if that doesnt work. Will we enter another period of rebuild? And if so, for How many years? I think management is using the excuse of "Evaluating and developing" as an excuse to buy them more time and less pressure on them. It is the smart way to secure a management position for longer. They are selling themselves and the magic expectations low at the moment and for the next few years for the fans to "relax" I think 2 years is more than enough to evaluate management performance. If by 2019 they still having that mentality of rebuilding, they will need to go.

Just like a year before that the previous coaching staff was playing him at the PG position. The magic organization has been really bad in handling his talent. I dont blame him for sucking. I am hoping we keep him at that G/SF position and leave it like that.

He still is G/F and can play both positions. I dont see him playing the PF with Isaac and Gordon sharing that position. The reason I think he will playing at the SG position is because they way new management feel about tall and long guys. I will not be surprised if we see at times a very long lineup consisting of Payton/Mario/Isaac/AG and Biz. Maybe even Fournier at the PG position at some point Crazy, but Not surprising. Management seems to be all over

I dont see Mario playing the PF position anhmore and will not be a 3 string SF. He will be Fournier back up at SG or SF when Ross is playing The SG position. In other words he will be Fournier substitution.

I really hope so. I was hoping to see Mario playing some time at the point as well. I think they have no Idea what to do with Mario. They have said he can play the point but also play the PF position. Yet, we rarely see him play is natural position at SG.

Is all about our cap situation. Teams are desperately to create room in thei roster. This is part of the rebuild process. We can get picks by helping other teams to get hnder the cap. Heck, even Brooklyn is doing it. They just got a first round pick by getting some decent talent back. (Carrol on a 2 year rental) Indianapolis got Corey Joseph and a pick. Joseph is a decent Back up on a similar 2 year contract. They also got a pick on this deal.

IDk. I dont think we are getting another PG. also, I dont see DJ starting the season as our 3rd string PG yet. Vogel was very high on him last year and one of the reason he was signed. He wanted him here. I see him playing a CJ role if or when CJ is waived/traded. I just hope we trade DJ. I cant stand seeing him playing more minutes as a Magic.

My point is that you have a roster consisting of 4 back up PG's at 22-23 millions.

Again, I dont think we signed a 4 string PG in Mack to a 6m per year deal. I dont see how we will keep Payton/Agustine/CJ and now Mack as our PG rotation. there has to be something going on. We will know today.

I like him and will be a good addition. Dont think I want to pay more rhan 3M per year for him.

    2017 Official Offseason Thread

I think we are better with a combination of Payton/Isaac/Gordon than Smith/Gordon. At least for this year. Im sure if Payton does not prove to be a starting material we will likely either trade him or let him go. The fact that we signed Mack tells me that we likely have a deal in place for one of the other PG's. I dont think we are paying 6 millikns a year for a 3 string PG when we traded our valuable late first round pick this year for cap room. It doesnt make sense. I think washington and Boston were holding the market a bit by waiting to match Porter's offer sheet and the signing of Hayward. I think something is happening tonight or tomorrow.

Oh yea! Payton currently has the magic record in triple doubles. I fact, I think Payton is better than Ball. Lonzo is all hype. Just like Payton was and will be. I see Payton, MCW and Ball in the same talent group. Good back up PG's in this league. Payton and Lonzo share very similar skill levels.

I, honestly, trade Gordon and our 2020 OKC first round for him right now without hesitation.
