I Will offer Vuch and Mack for George Hill and koufos Then send Payton and Mario to Phoenix for Chandler and a pick.

Agree. They play without effort and too comfortable. They like to shoot the ball too much and not playing in the paint. That is why Vuch is not helping at all with our offense. He does the pick and rolls and likes to stay behind the 3 point line or just above the free throw line. He doesnt cut to the basket like Dedmond or even Oquinn did when they were playing for us. We need a more athletic and aggressive center. I see Vuch trying on occasions but it is not really his game. He is not even posting anymore. That could be on Vogel as well but my point is that he is not aggressive in getting to the basket and looking for the foul. Hence, the low rate FT line visits. Again, we need to make a move sooner than later. We cant just be too behind 500 to act. Making a major move too late will put us in a very bad position to eventually end shy of a playoff spot and with a very late lottery pick.

This team lacks discipline and leadership.

Kemba is way smaller and worst defender. At 6,1 you cant compare to a 6’4 Wall. Wall can be an elite defender if he tries. Kemba is undersized PG that can be easely beaten by a taller, stronger PG. only exception will be Payton. Wall similarities is his offensive skill and explosion. Wall IQ is also higher.

why not? if Vuch can get you Len and Chris or Len and Bender, I will do it in a heartbeat. Len is on his last year of his contract at 4 millions and he is still 24 year of age. He is definetetly a better defender than Vuch. Bender or Chriss are still on their rookie deal and The SUNS are loaded in the Center/PF position with Chandler, Len, Monroe, Williams, Bender and Chriss. They need to move someone. I see Chandler and likely Bender as the two pieces they will likely move. I think those two pieces are better than Vuch and Mario in my opinion.

    2017-2018 Official Season Discussion Thread

I think Fournier’s and Vuch value around the league is a little higher than that. Noel is not even playing in a team that is in dire need of a center. Also, he is a free agent who will be asking too much money. Pretty much a salary dump. Vuch salary is not that bad to be honest. I like Noel over Vuch as a player but not in this situation. Vuch value>>> Noel expiring contract. Wes is very similar to what we have in Ross. Better overall shooter than Ross but not overall better offensive player than Fournier Fournier offense and Ross defense>>>Wes. They will need to include a future first, to be honest. Other than that I will explore other options. I think the Bulls scenario you mentioned before is more interesting. Will Boston consider either Vuch or Fournier for a package centered in Smart or even Rozier? Will Phoenix consider Vuch or Fournier and Mario for a packaged centered on Len? Or even Chandler with chriss/Bender or a pick?

I was happy to see how good Payton can be if he puts some effort. Hopefully there was some phoenix scout at the game last night. Maybe we can send him there in exchange of Either Len, Chriss or Bender. That should create the foundation for a f/u Vuch trade. Maybe to Detroit for Jackson.

He has clearly distinguished himself. He has worked so hard and as you well said, he has improved his overall defense skills and shooting range. He is a smart kid, good teammate and probably a good leader. Remeber that he has played out of position and with 4 different coaches during his the first few years. This is the first year he started playing in the Power forward position with the same coaching staff as last year. He is doing very well so far.

Gordon is going to get paid no matter what. Whether is us or another team. I think 5/125 is fair. On another note, I really think we should get rid off VUC. As a proactive move, will you consider a Mario for Okafor swap and see how he does with more playing time at the center position for the rest of the year?

Love the fact they both got benched. I wished it was simmons instead of augustine.

They were proactive in the offseason with the acquisitions of Simmons, Afflalo, Mack and Speights during free agency period. The were kind of proactive with the selection of Isaac and Iwundu in the draft. ( Passing on Smith Jr and Kuzma tho) They were also proactive by not extending Payton and Gordon in the offseason. This has been their greatest move so far. Not need to be REACTIVE on trades. No need to panic. They need to explore PROACTIVE trades and looking for picks.

Why trade both to Dallas. They will love to have Fournier and Vuc and will get rid off Noel in a heartbeat. I dont mind the trade unless they include picks or Smith Jr. Barnes will take over Isaac and/or Simmons minutes and Noel will be a salary dump. I will do the Fournier, Vuc, Payton for Barnes, Noel and Smith Jr.

why wait another year? we can be aggressive with trades. Lets get rid off Vuc while his trade value remains positive.

I think you undervalue Vuch a bit here. He is very likeable around the league and contract friendly. The Nets are in need for an upgrade at the center position. Dinwiddie has been playing great lately but it has been and unexpected surprise for them. They clearly need to make a splash and Vuch can make them better. If I am The Nets i will jump on this!

I gave u a plus one on this!! This is truly what we need! I am ok with letting Biz contract run his course. Maybe with more playing time and better lineup will make him a better all around player.

I dont know what options you like but I will take Evans over Payton 10 out of 10 times. Bradley came to the league listed as a 6 ‘ 2 PG but in 2014 Boston began playing him next to Rondo as a PG/SG combo. He flourished playing off the ball as a SG in offense and PG in the defensive end. After Rondo, it was thomas and now it is jackson. He is surely capable to play the PG position. With All thay said, I dont think he will be a person to consider. The only ones I am interested is Evans, Teague and maybe Lin. We have to be creative with trades prior the deadline if we decide to go this route to open room in our cap space. Our best option is to find a quality PG via trade.

I was a little dissapointed when we passed on Smith Jr but I am liking so far our selection. Perhaps this is the year for us to go all in on a PG. I dont see us keeping Payton as our future PG. 2018 free agent PG class is decent: jeff teague, tyreke evans, Bradley, CPaul, jeremy Lin. I think getting either Evans or Teague should be our priority. It will be interesting to see what we do with trades this year. I will wait my judgement on this administration until I see their first trade move.

It is time to make a change in the lineup. I think we need to start Isaac over Ross. I also will like to see more of the Simmons, Isaac, Gordon combination. We need to explore trading options for VUC, Fournier, Ross and Payton. I will make EVERYONE available except Isaac, Simmons and Gordon.

I am not surprised about his struggles. I was never high on him. His shooting form is terrible and I dont think will ever get better. He is doing good in other PG areas duties like assist, low turnover ratio and steals, although his overall defense is still bad. It does reminds me a lot on how Payton plays. He is NOT Jason Kidd. Fox and Smith are much better Point guards at this point and likely in the future. I think Ball will probably be a good starting quality point guard(Payton, Rubio) but I dont see him becoming a star.

    Magic @ Cavs

Welcome to the Forum! I agree with you. Vuc looks like a keeper for sure. A lot of the players look hungry for playing time. I am pleased to see Mario, Simmons, DJ and even Afflalo playing with passion. We lacked that intensity last year and this is the type of environment Isaac needs to develop into a very good player.

I might sound like a hater but it is time to see us play w/o Elfrid for a few games and truly see his future value for our team in the future. Hopefully he recover soon but this certainly works in our favor as his value will drop in the market if he stays out for a significant time.
