A Jameered Dwightmare

I would be shocked if Dwight ever wears a Magic uniform again for the following reasons: 1. It is not a homecoming for him. That would be Atlanta. Dwight has sold or is selling his place in Orlando. He has no roots to return here unlike Lebron who kept a home in Ohio. I always found it interesting that Dwight never mentions his hometown Atlanta in most anything. 2. His personality and way he goes about things is not how this current Magic team does things. He would not fit the profile of someone the Magic would want. Unlike Lebron, Dwight has blown all his opportunities to repair his image. Sometimes I think Oladipo and most of our younger players already show a more mature perception throughtout the league than Dwight. 3. He is currently not playing at a level he will demand pay wise. The Magic will not throw money at that. The older he gets the less athletic he will get and unlike most other bigs who have made it in the league a long time, he has a worse mid range shot and foul shot than most. 4. Dwight is not a recruiter and no one seriously wants to play with him or they would have teamed up with him by now. Dwight will never win a championship the way he does things now. He couldn't recruit here for the Magic. It appears he can't recruit for Houston either losing out on Bosh and Melo to name a few. For me to welcome Dwight back to this team, he would have to apologize to this city, change his attitude and perception like Lebron did, and take on a fair contract. I don't see any of those three, much less one of them happening anytime soon and it is a shame. Congrats to Gortat for getting his. That is guy who put in the work from the bottom, up. Well deserving and he would actually fit our current team better than Dwight. I would always welcome Gortat back.

Lee makes sense if we dump Affalo and Nelson as we will need some vets to fill the void and Lee fills that need as people mentioned for a 4 that rebound and defend. It would also open up both guard positions for Dipo and Exum (if we go there). Lee is due 30 million over the next two years, 15 each so we would take on an expiring contract that would not be much different than the schedule of Nelson and Affalo combined. There may be one season difference but we may not miss big free agency period. Correct me if I am wrong but Golden State has no picks in this draft coming up so they may want in.

I do not want to go through another Fran situation. If he is truly as soft as Fran is his gut will tell him like Fran to stay away from the Big Boy league. They can use the more money smoke screen or I love Europe all they want, bottom line is that they know deep down they cant make it here so they dont take a chance. It sounds like the 8th pick with Sac and maybe the 9th pick with Charlotte is open for business. Lets move it on up from the 12 spot fellas. We got Nelson and Affalo for the taking. Although the David Lee talks somewhat make sense, that would bring a veteran to the team to replace Nelson and Affalo and fit an area of need. We got more assets and more options than most the teams..its great to Henny right now.

i I look at this draft as follows: The cut off for me is Top 7 Tier 1 - Big 3 (Joel, Wiggins, Parker) Tier 2 - Exum, Randle, Smart, and Vonleh Magic Needs - Magic need a prolific scorer and someone that is tough that can rebound and protect the paint. The Magic had trouble putting up points in some game. Also, ever since Dwight left, we have been getting killed on the boards and have no one to protect the paint. Exum - fits what magic need for PG position and playmaker. Huge upside but downside is shooting ability. It is hard to see Vic and Exum as consistent shooters night in and night out. However, Lebron couldnt shoot worth a crap when he came in to the league. Randle - Fits that need for a traditional power forward that can grab rebounds and protect paint. Definitely a need for the Magic. Smart - Loved him more last year. I like his toughness a lil more than Exum but he can't shoot yet either. Him and Vic would potentially be an inconsistent pair. If we had a legit 3 or 4 or 5 already proven all-star that could take on the scoring load, then this combo may make sense but we dont have that right now. Vonleh - very raw. I havent seen him play much but i would think he is not as tough as randle but has a better shot right now. Some guys for 12 spot that fit Magic Needs Stauskas - Excellent shooter. Quality shooting is a premium and with Vic still developing his shot, he would complement very well especially if we hold onto Affalo to give him time to develop Gordon - He reminds of a mini Noah. His offense is lacking but he could bring us similar to what randle could. Saric - Been eyeing this guys the last few years. Don't much about other what I read on the net. I have a hard time buying into Euros after the Fran debacle. If we take Exum do we go two Intl players. Things I hope the Magic are looking at: Charlotte got Det 9th pick. Charlotte has shown interest in Jameer and Affalo. I hope they explore packing Jameer and 12th pick to move up to 9 if a guy falls we like or we feel we need to move up to lock in someone we really like. If two guys fell down out of the top 7 I mentioned to 9, I would be pushing hard to move up. I like a combo of Exum/Gordon, Randle/Staukas, and even Exum/Staukus if we decide to go all guards. If Smart falls to 9, which I doubt he will would be killer with taking Randle at 4. Any way you slice, the Magic have ton of assets, draft picks, rookie contracts, and two vets (Jameer & Affalo). The damn full playbook should be open and one the table. We need to hustle to dump Jameer and pick up two good draft picks.

Magic trading out. Would love Oladipo to fall but will be happy with CJ McCollum. We can hopefully shed Al Harrington contract.

We will suck until Jameer and Hedo are gone. They are a black cloud over this franchise. Once they are gone, the skies will open up Orlando and the Magic will be blessed once again with some playoff basketball. Bye Bye Shameer..Another year down, hopefully one or less to go. Hedo, retire and return to Turkey immediately.

Turk needs to go. Baby Nicholson Harkless and Nelson will be starters once the dust settles. It is battle between affalo and redick for the 2 spot. I would imagine Redick would come off the bench since he is accostumed to that role. By the way, JJ Redick has made it clear that he would like to finish his career in Orlando so I dont see him wanting out, it is just a matter of the Magic wanting him and giving him a fair contract. Hedo and Roberts are our best expiring contracts. We are kinda stuck with Harrington unless we can package him in something.

Thats assuming we can get the ball up the court and not have our PG jacking it up first. Why didnt we wait till this year to build the Amway. There will be enough bricks thrown up in this town for only $20 million of salary you mentioned.

For our franchise to suffer through a Grant Hill ankle and McGrady back (although not as significant) it would be nice to be on the other side of things and dump damaged goods. It is mean to wish that on anyone but from a sports perspective, that would be a good equalizer and a big bullet dodged by the Magic.

Does Dwight even know he is traded yet or is he busy playing Call of Duty. This is the perfect situation for Dwight. He can go to a town that is fake and being immature is normal. He can have Kobe, Nash, Gasol, Jamison, and Artest possibly get him a championship we he hides in the wings of their greatness. It would have been interesting to see if we could have got gasol and turned him to Houston for same deal we were getting for Howard. Houston wanted Gasol and was part of the historic Stern rejected 3 way deal if my memory serves right. I think Kobe made it clear that Gasol was not being traded. He never liked Bynum anyways.

The trade is not offical so it is hard to opine with potential moving parts but here are my comments and observations: 1. Lets hope the other deals really weren't as good. 2. We didn't get stuck with a max deal w Lopez 3. Dwight is gone to west and about as far away from here as possible 4. Affalo is decent but with our new guys having ties to Detroit, I have a feeling that is their boy 5. Don't like the Harrington pick but I guess we can't get everything. 6. I like the prospect of Harkless. I remember when Anderson was a thrown in for Vince and he turned out ok. Alot of people were high on Harkless 7. I don't like how we stil dont get a back up PG or a PG in this deal. 8. The 3 first rounders will probably be crap for mid first round at best with 2 coming from Den and one from Phi 9. We got rid of J Rich at least. Too bad Duhon was not in it. 10. We will have some future cap space once Turk off books Now on to the roster. Man we will have 10 million players now. Someone has to get cut. My guess Harper for sure. PG - Nelson, Duhon, Ish? I would think another player has to be in the deal somewhere. Also, Harper and one of the centers will get cut, most likely Ayon since he has team option. That would get the roster down I guess. I find it interesting that the Magic organization and Jameer's agent are keeping the numbers to his deal on the down low. Hmmm..Seems to me that they are higher than even what Magic management would support in objective analysis....I bet if they independently did their 40 million hours of due diligence and "processes", it would not kick out the output they paid. Hence, lets keep this under wraps. BS. On a brighter note..we got Jacque Long as a coach...This is seriously a good hire...no wear on his tread and huge upside..maybe he can get 8 million out of Jameer..Dwight will wish he was playing for him a few years from now.

Welcome back Dwight! We got one more year together. Love it or leave it. We aren't letting our trophy wife walk away. There is no reason to run. Hug it out with the team and have a A Knight at the Roxbury moment when Doug decided his brother was cool running with after all. McGrady left too early right before you showed up. Don't leave when a GM with relief his here and a plan is on the way. We can always axe Martins next..there are ten million execs but there is only one dwight.

I am not an account troll. Just Magic realist. Jameer=old regime. If you are going to blow up the team. Blow it up all the way. That means all captains go. I just dont see how this $8 million of loyalty and leadership is in the best interest of this team for the long run. I believe Jameer JJ Hedo Nicholson and some center can probably win enough games to not get us in the playoffs but still blow us from getting a good draft pick unless we get lucky with the lottery. We may still add other pieces as well. We will probably end up in never never land in the lottery just missing out on best talent. Yes we are rebuilding now but the mid term and long term thoughts should be championship or bust. Jameer is not a championship team STARTING PG. Sorry. The fact that Duhon backs him up is even more disgusting. Jameer is a great guy, has made his living, had some amazing games, but it was time to move on and we didn't. Shame on Henny and the Magic. This team was arguably a better PG away from getting over the top. He couldn't beat Billips and Stuckey in Det series. He couldn't beat Rondo and Boston. He couldnt beat Atl when it supposed to be our time. We had pretty good matchups at the other positions during our playoff runs outside this year. Enough to make it to the finals probably more than once considering our overall record in the Van Gundy era. All the other teams with top records during that period(Bos, LA, Spurs ) all won titles. Now we are more than PG away and still havent addressed the PG position. We even tried for Arenas to be our savior causing a Jameer dilemna. Everyone was calling for CP3 and D Williams to come here before when it looked like Dwight was still in the mold because they knew deep down PG was issue. Now that Dwight is out, it is like that realization never happened and Jameer is the coolest guy ever. Look if you want a lovable and hard working guy to be the face of Heart & Hustle 2 until we land another elite franchise player and get back to making playoff runs, then Jameer is your guy. I get that and that is what many people on here in the pain from Dwight are maybe looking for in him. Heck, Magic need him because he will at least put all you Jameer lovers in the stands the next few years. Great PR move if you think about on the Magic part especially if they start taking heat for having a brand new arena that is now half empty for game. But once we get back to being a contender, this issue will surface again if he is around and that is when this has to finally end. I hope Jameer will prove me wrong but unfortunately he may not get enough talent around him to have a real shot to show that he became a better PG. Hopefully Henny can work things faster than what most people think it will actually take to rebuild. We shall see.
