A Jameered Dwightmare

I would be shocked if Dwight ever wears a Magic uniform again for the following reasons: 1. It is not a homecoming for him. That would be Atlanta. Dwight has sold or is selling his place in Orlando. He has no roots to return here unlike Lebron who kept a home in Ohio. I always found it interesting that Dwight never mentions his hometown Atlanta in most anything. 2. His personality and way he goes about things is not how this current Magic team does things. He would not fit the profile of someone the Magic would want. Unlike Lebron, Dwight has blown all his opportunities to repair his image. Sometimes I think Oladipo and most of our younger players already show a more mature perception throughtout the league than Dwight. 3. He is currently not playing at a level he will demand pay wise. The Magic will not throw money at that. The older he gets the less athletic he will get and unlike most other bigs who have made it in the league a long time, he has a worse mid range shot and foul shot than most. 4. Dwight is not a recruiter and no one seriously wants to play with him or they would have teamed up with him by now. Dwight will never win a championship the way he does things now. He couldn't recruit here for the Magic. It appears he can't recruit for Houston either losing out on Bosh and Melo to name a few. For me to welcome Dwight back to this team, he would have to apologize to this city, change his attitude and perception like Lebron did, and take on a fair contract. I don't see any of those three, much less one of them happening anytime soon and it is a shame. Congrats to Gortat for getting his. That is guy who put in the work from the bottom, up. Well deserving and he would actually fit our current team better than Dwight. I would always welcome Gortat back.

Lee makes sense if we dump Affalo and Nelson as we will need some vets to fill the void and Lee fills that need as people mentioned for a 4 that rebound and defend. It would also open up both guard positions for Dipo and Exum (if we go there). Lee is due 30 million over the next two years, 15 each so we would take on an expiring contract that would not be much different than the schedule of Nelson and Affalo combined. There may be one season difference but we may not miss big free agency period. Correct me if I am wrong but Golden State has no picks in this draft coming up so they may want in.

I do not want to go through another Fran situation. If he is truly as soft as Fran is his gut will tell him like Fran to stay away from the Big Boy league. They can use the more money smoke screen or I love Europe all they want, bottom line is that they know deep down they cant make it here so they dont take a chance. It sounds like the 8th pick with Sac and maybe the 9th pick with Charlotte is open for business. Lets move it on up from the 12 spot fellas. We got Nelson and Affalo for the taking. Although the David Lee talks somewhat make sense, that would bring a veteran to the team to replace Nelson and Affalo and fit an area of need. We got more assets and more options than most the teams..its great to Henny right now.

i I look at this draft as follows: The cut off for me is Top 7 Tier 1 - Big 3 (Joel, Wiggins, Parker) Tier 2 - Exum, Randle, Smart, and Vonleh Magic Needs - Magic need a prolific scorer and someone that is tough that can rebound and protect the paint. The Magic had trouble putting up points in some game. Also, ever since Dwight left, we have been getting killed on the boards and have no one to protect the paint. Exum - fits what magic need for PG position and playmaker. Huge upside but downside is shooting ability. It is hard to see Vic and Exum as consistent shooters night in and night out. However, Lebron couldnt shoot worth a crap when he came in to the league. Randle - Fits that need for a traditional power forward that can grab rebounds and protect paint. Definitely a need for the Magic. Smart - Loved him more last year. I like his toughness a lil more than Exum but he can't shoot yet either. Him and Vic would potentially be an inconsistent pair. If we had a legit 3 or 4 or 5 already proven all-star that could take on the scoring load, then this combo may make sense but we dont have that right now. Vonleh - very raw. I havent seen him play much but i would think he is not as tough as randle but has a better shot right now. Some guys for 12 spot that fit Magic Needs Stauskas - Excellent shooter. Quality shooting is a premium and with Vic still developing his shot, he would complement very well especially if we hold onto Affalo to give him time to develop Gordon - He reminds of a mini Noah. His offense is lacking but he could bring us similar to what randle could. Saric - Been eyeing this guys the last few years. Don't much about other what I read on the net. I have a hard time buying into Euros after the Fran debacle. If we take Exum do we go two Intl players. Things I hope the Magic are looking at: Charlotte got Det 9th pick. Charlotte has shown interest in Jameer and Affalo. I hope they explore packing Jameer and 12th pick to move up to 9 if a guy falls we like or we feel we need to move up to lock in someone we really like. If two guys fell down out of the top 7 I mentioned to 9, I would be pushing hard to move up. I like a combo of Exum/Gordon, Randle/Staukas, and even Exum/Staukus if we decide to go all guards. If Smart falls to 9, which I doubt he will would be killer with taking Randle at 4. Any way you slice, the Magic have ton of assets, draft picks, rookie contracts, and two vets (Jameer & Affalo). The damn full playbook should be open and one the table. We need to hustle to dump Jameer and pick up two good draft picks.

Magic trading out. Would love Oladipo to fall but will be happy with CJ McCollum. We can hopefully shed Al Harrington contract.

We will suck until Jameer and Hedo are gone. They are a black cloud over this franchise. Once they are gone, the skies will open up Orlando and the Magic will be blessed once again with some playoff basketball. Bye Bye Shameer..Another year down, hopefully one or less to go. Hedo, retire and return to Turkey immediately.

Turk needs to go. Baby Nicholson Harkless and Nelson will be starters once the dust settles. It is battle between affalo and redick for the 2 spot. I would imagine Redick would come off the bench since he is accostumed to that role. By the way, JJ Redick has made it clear that he would like to finish his career in Orlando so I dont see him wanting out, it is just a matter of the Magic wanting him and giving him a fair contract. Hedo and Roberts are our best expiring contracts. We are kinda stuck with Harrington unless we can package him in something.

Thats assuming we can get the ball up the court and not have our PG jacking it up first. Why didnt we wait till this year to build the Amway. There will be enough bricks thrown up in this town for only $20 million of salary you mentioned.

For our franchise to suffer through a Grant Hill ankle and McGrady back (although not as significant) it would be nice to be on the other side of things and dump damaged goods. It is mean to wish that on anyone but from a sports perspective, that would be a good equalizer and a big bullet dodged by the Magic.
