The Otto Porter stuff is interesting. Gotta imagine he’s being considered in our long term plans if we didn’t buy him out and he’s gonna sit the rest of the season with a “foot injury”

A Cleveland win puts more distance between them and us. We could still catch them and we play them one more time this year and have already beat em twice.

Honestly, I think the main benefit to tanking now with the new odds system isn’t even the lotto luck, it’s making sure that if you get screwed over you fall as minimally as possible. Like, we have the 4th worst record in the league pretty handily, but the chance of us picking 6 or 7 in a draft where the top tier is 5 players is real scary.

The defensive potential of a starting lineup of Kelle/GH/Chuma/JI/WCJ is really really exciting. Also can’t wait to see how Wendell plays with a real point guard when Markelle gets back, he’s never had even average PG play before to unlock his potential

Bulls lose again, fall out of the play-in game and are tied with the Wizards at 11 seed in the East. So, right now the pick is at 8.5 (splits the lotto odds between 8 and 9 thanks to the tie). Only a half game ahead of Sacramento and 2 games ahead of the Cavs who they play twice in their next 3.

They’re just as close to OKC at 5th worst in the NBA as they are to New Orleans at 11th worst... sheesh... I’ve thought about it though. I think I’d rather have the Bulls pick have a shot at being as high as it can be and risking it not conveying until next year instead of getting stuck with it at the very end of the lotto. We’ve already got a ton of youth on the roster

If Vooch goes for a career high on us, I’ll be ok with it

I know that 5 1/2 of the last 6 have been rough (excluding the first half of the game against the Nuggets) but for those of you desperate for wins, or at the very least competitive basketball, it’s your time to shine over the next 3, Bulls, Raptors, Rockets. I think we get at least one. Enjoy em though, there’s probably only 3 winnable games left the rest of the way after this stretch

6-2 with Markelle, 11-34 without... This season being as lost as it’s become has everything to do with management refusing to get a real point guard to replace Markelle after his injury and instead opting to run with a rookie and a journeyman who’d be out of the league if he was still asked to play PG regularly

From this day forth, he shall be known as Michael Sharter-Williams, at least until we have to stop pretending he can play point guard

No, he had a torn ACL. Sore hip shouldn’t be anything worrisome, he went from playing minimally to getting 35+ minutes a game overnight

Yeah, but isn’t it just as likely we shut down vets like MCW, Ross, Harris and Ennis off and on along the way?

By my count we have 6 winnable games left this season. This team just doesn’t have the talent to swing any big upsets. After tonight we have Chicago, Toronto, Houston back-to-back-to-back. We have a chance to win any of those 3 games. Then we play Cleveland later this month, then we play Detroit and Minnesota in May. I’m expecting us to win between 19-22 games at this point. Those of you that are watching for wins might want to take the rest of the season off minus the 6 games mentioned above.

It’s never good when your rookie backup point guard ties for the team lead in rebounds.

4-20 from 3 in the first half... and that’s with Bamba going 3-4, so everybody else a combined 1-16

We’re real bad at defending the 3 point line and defensive rebounding... and defending the paint... also all things offense.. outside of that though, we’re awesome!

Chuma’s out. Starting MCW, Bacon, GH, Ennis, WCJ

He started every game in his first 2 seasons with the Bulls, started 25 of 32 with them this year. The problem moreso is that he’s been hurt a lot, missed a bunch of time in Chicago. Played in 126 games out of 205, started 116 of those. This includes his first 3 games in Orlando coming off the bench

I’d love to see a 10 man rotation of: MCW/GH/Ennis/Okeke/WCJ Cole/RJ/T-Ross/Otto/Mo the rest of the way. I think it keeps us competitive. I personally believe that the losses aren’t that detrimental as long as you can be competitive within the individual games. You do that you’ll inevitably steal a win or two here and there. We can’t just roll out trash and lose by 20+ every night, I think that we can all pretty much agree on that.

I think a better way to put this is the front office has put themselves in a position to make moves. Before the deadline we were hampered with bad contracts on a team that we knew maxed out as an 8 seed with a 5 game playoff exit. We’ve collected a lot of assets and added cap flexibility to make a move for the next disgruntled star. I understand the fear of tanking driving a losing mentality home in these players but this season is lost anyway with plenty of excuses for why. I’m not entirely convinced that next seasons plan is to get Markelle and Isaac back healthy and just run it back with this same youth and 2 new draft picks , I think we’ll be very active in the market if say a guy like Brad Beal finally asks out
