True, probably just frustrated with recency bias after the last ending. Im looking forward to playing a team who’s coach doesn’t apply the “they can’t call all fouls, so hack away every play” method. Miami, Toronto and New York as 4 of our 6 games has been brutal

After last nights game our starting 5 has the best net rating in the league of 5 man lineups that have played at least 48 minutes together! lol

Good thing for tonight is Jalen Suggs. His shot looks good, it’ll start to fall more. His defense is already above average with elite potential, and I loved seeing him challenge Coach Moseley over that timeout call near the end of the game. Point guard in the NBA is the most difficult position to master in all of sports, so we’ll need to be patient, but I’m confident Suggs is that dude.

It’s that he’s being asked to play PG when he’s obviously not a primary ball handler. He gets the ball slapped out of his hand on every other drive. Can’t wait until Markelle is around so we can play him off ball

Agreed, you gotta either play through or call a timeout as soon as you get that defensive rebound. Also was frustrating to not see our last timeout called as soon as Cole recovered the ball in the backcourt. Still a great effort to not fold. Both Suggs and Wagner making huge plays down the stretch is a great sign

Yeah, RJ needs to sit, honestly is playing G league level basketball. Hear me out here, there’s a world where all 3 of these rookies are extremely legit basketball players. Scottie looks great, but Jalen and Franz are ballin too. Also, our rooks are much better on D

One good thing for tonight’s game: The starters. So far they’ve been excellent, especially when all 5 are playing together. Fun game, never great to lose but at least we’re seeing some good things from a lot of young guys. If/when we get Fultz, Chuma and JI back this team is definitely gonna cause some trouble. Mosley shortened the rotation to 9 tonight, which I assume is what it will be in competitive play going forward. My best speculation on what a healthy 9 man rotation would look like is: Fultz/Suggs/Franz/Isaac/Carter Anthony/Ross/Chuma/Bamba RJ and GH out of the rotation pretty easily for me, they’ve been both real bad. Coming into the season I figured it’d be some version of this 9 with Chuma starting at the 3, but Franz has just been too good to not start.

Good thing for tonight is effort. This is what is gonna make this season fun. Ignore Ws and Ls, especially while 3 starters are out and just keep playing your butts off.

There’s only one guy on this team where I’m confident when he puts up an open 3. These guys are much much more physical than us, we might be headed for another 30 point loss

This is very true, and unfortunately winning doesn’t even fix it. The Rays, the Bucs and the Lightning are are central Florida championship caliber teams and there’s still games in their house where they stand no chance if it’s against a transplant city fanbase. You’re also right that the fact we haven’t had anything legitimate to cheer for in over a decade makes it worse.

My one good thing from tonight: Cole freaking Anthony! 16 REBOUNDS! From your starting point guard! And we needed everyone. Great effort by Cole across the board tonight.

The closeouts were definitely better, but we got destroyed on the glass. It’s nice to win!

Yeah, GH was a Nugget. He’s still super young for how long it feels like he’s been in the league, but he can’t stay healthy and hasn’t been able to for years. His biggest appeal to us is a $20 million expiring contract.

I’d really love to know what’s actually wrong with Chuma.

I bet he was. Especially when you add in how thin we are at forward compared to guard.

One troubling thing that is pretty evident by the eye test and backed pretty heavily by advanced stats: Terrence Ross is really playing like he doesn’t want to be here. No effort on either side of the ball. On a team this young, it’s critical that the few vets we have set an example. If this continues for Ross he needs to be moved.
