All Eyes On Me

The issue isn’t really either Paolo or Franz playing point forward. It’s those lineups we continue to run that take both of them off the floor at the same time that are just killing us. Luckily (or not?) we’ve got 3 of our young core that have proven that they’re not rotation NBA players, but due to depth we have to play them. Bamba (who we never should’ve re-signed to begin with), RJ, and Chuma.

If we wind up with the worst record in the league, we’re literally guaranteed a top 5 pick

Paolo and Franz are legit. Wendell is solid. Not sure if we have any other long term pieces on this team as currently constructed. The backcourt is a huge issue and has been for a decade now

Brutal start of season schedule + horrible injury luck = early worst team in the league We’re probably not winning a game until November home stand, and even that’s gonna be dependent on who we get back. Strap in y’all, it’s gonna be a long season if you’re in it looking strictly at wins and losses.

The rotations have been questionable at best. With the current roster limitations one of Paolo or Franz should be on the floor at all times, but they’re continuously subbed in and out together. Also, Bamba and Chuma have been unplayably bad

I hate playing Boston. They get every call no matter where they play. a lot of good to take away from the start of the season, but at the end of the day, we’re still 0-3.

I just don’t trust management, at least when it comes to Fultz and Isaac. I’m not saying write off the season and full on tank, but you gotta question the level we’re trying to compete at least when you cryptically hold out players and never provide any legitimate updates on their status.

Yeah, and Moseley said there’s no timetable on his return. At this point circle November 3rd on the calendar. Start of a 7 game home stand. If Isaac and Fultz aren’t back by then, I’m gonna be convinced that we’re going for the tank again. Also, I love Markelle, but his contract is unguaranteed after this year. We can cut bait for a marginal price, and if he can’t get his ass back on the court and play at least 2/3 of the games, we should….

To get assists, guys have to make open shots. The lack of shotmakers on this team, and how long it’s been a problem without being addressed is frustrating. But, we hung with a great team in their house for 3 1/2 quarters. We need Markelle back (which I’m so sick and tired of saying).

Suggs is super injury prone. He plays too reckless, if he doesn’t change his playing style he’s gonna get hurt every game.

But takeaways to me are: Paolo is legit. With 27 points in a game, his career high points in a game is now higher than both Jonathan Isaac and Markelle Fultz. He also missed some gimmes, he coulda had 35+. Can’t stress what a great pick this was by the FO, he was not my first choice and I love to be this wrong. Bamba shouldn’t have been re-signed. He’s just a weird piece that we feel like we have to give minutes to. It still stands that Mo may find himself as an NBA player, it just ain’t happening with us. Good showing from Suggs and Franz, but neither can run an offense for a whole game. To be what everyone wants us to be we need Markelle and Cole healthy.
