Sad that we weren’t willing to meet that price. Dejounte would’ve been a great fit on the floor, but we’re too worried about our locker room I think to bring in another alpha.

Feels like to me it’s KCP and hopefully a trade to go along with that signing. I don’t think Klay comes here over somewhere more marketable, Philly, Denver and Dallas all taking over the rumor mill. Also think PG wants too much for too long for us to sign or trade for him.

Re-signing your own players deadline is tomorrow. So if there’s no news on Goga, Harris, Fultz or Chuma by then, assume all 4 are gone and strap in for Sunday. I believe it’s also the deadline to either accept or decline Moe and Joe’s team options, but not 100% on that.

It’s crazy. It’s such a fun story for LeBron’s legacy, but it’s so bad for Bronny. He’s got no chance to be a pro. He wouldn’t even have been drafted if his last name was Smith. And even if he was a 2nd round talent, to have an agent strong arm him to a team when he shouldn’t be in the league at all is just career suicide. Imagine him in a locker room with kids that busted their ass to get here when his daddy isn’t around to protect him.

Rich Paul is supposedly calling all teams on the clock and telling them if they draft Bronny he’s going to Australia to strong arm his way to the Lakers. Klutch is bad for basketball.

Finally draft a 45% 3 point sniper and trade it away for a future 2nd. I think the myth of us being unpredictable can finally be put to bed. Weltman and Parker are as predictable as it gets.

Hartenstein would probably be worth $25-30 million of that cap space, and he’s younger, so he’d want a longer term deal. We’ve already got Wendell on at $12 million. Are we really convinced that Hartenstein makes our team twice as much better as WCJ? Klay is appealing if it’s short term big money, like 2 years with a team option. My top option would be to trade for a young PG like Garland, Dejounte, Trae, or Sexton that can help with multiple bigger weaknesses we have than Hartenstein. Paolo said it himself earlier this off-season, he wants to be less of the primary distributor next year and management seems to have promised him as much.

We have so many bigger needs than Hartenstein. Use the cap space to actually address weaknesses and bring back Goga to back up WCJ. To me signing Hartenstein would be like Hennigan signing Biyombo to a huge deal when we already had Ibaka and Vucevic on the roster.

This is valid. I couldn’t help but think of Jacquez in particular when we made the pick last night. Still hopeful we had a star this off-season, but I’m warming up to have a Franz lite that can play when Franz is on the bench. Is TDS playing in the Olympics with the Wagner boys? Could be a sneak preview

On one hand, TDS is the least raw player we’ve drafted in a long time and could slide into the Ingles spot in the rotation. On the other hand, I'm skeptical the 18th pick in this weak class will be an instant contributor when the 6 and 11 picks from a much better class last year had splinters on their butts from riding the pine all season. I get the excitement, and I’ll join in eventually, but need to see our next off-season moves before I make an opinion. We still have $50 million in cap space to make some noise with if we choose to, and we still have a glaring need for an offensive initiator.

5 year $212.5 million! Insane amount for a guy that can’t stay healthy playing for a coach that can’t keep players healthy. Knicks are gonna be the most expensive max out in the conference finals team ever.

He looked washed by Klay standards, but he still shot 39% from deep on 9 3s per game. That’s better numbers on that kind of quantity than anyone we’ve had in years. We shot 35% from 3 last year and we attempted the 2nd fewest shots from deep per game in the league.

The Klay swing on odds in our favor looks like it has to do with the Warriors being all in on offering PG a 4 year max. If that’s the length of contract for George, we’re out.

Agree. Only way we entertain Booker is to trade depth pieces, prospects and picks for him. You make that move to win, not stay the same with different players. I wouldn’t give up Paolo, Franz or Suggs for Booker.

We’re the new Vegas odds favorite to land Klay, and Paolo is working out with Lavine.

There’s a lot of smoke around the Suns trading Durant. Serious question, if they do for the packages I’m seeing, why keep Booker? Book is my 1 if he somehow becomes available.

Can’t believe the price is takes to get like a tier 3 star in this league, and even that might be generous for Mikal. I’m hoping our fun starts tonight. I’m very much on the side of we have to use our assets and cap freedom while we can this off-season. Standing pat tonight and adding another rookie that won’t crack the rotation is the wrong move. We saw a Pacers team that were better than be aggressive with trades and FA and make the conference finals. We can’t just sit and wait to grow this thing in house, it’s time for our Horace Grant signing. Go get PG or trade for Sexton, Garland, Dejounte or Trae.

I’m probably just overreacting to the Monk news, but I’m really worried that we’re not gonna do much and I’m gonna get my hopes up to be underwhelmed again. We have a ton of cap space this year, and with extensions for Franz and Suggs this year and Paolo next year we won’t have this flexibility again any time soon. Over pay Klay, or over pay PG. If we go through this off-season just to re-sign Harris, draft someone who won’t play at 18 and stand pat I’ll be extremely disappointed.

Apparently we’re now tied with the Warriors for most likely to sign Klay Thompson according to Vegas gambling odds. Also the Paul George rumors are heating up again today… the next 2 weeks can’t go by fast enough!

*fart noise* At least those awful playoffs are over and the Celtics fully get an asterisk for easiest path to a ‘ship in NBA history (I know, I know, I’m a hater) More importantly, the dead period is over and this off-season is about to get fun. We can start negotiating with all our guys that are expired as of today, Fultz, Moe, Joe, Gary, Chuma… Draft is June 26, June 30th is start of free agency, July 1st Franz and Suggs are extension eligible. Let’s gooo!
