Jett is ballin in Lakeland. It’s time to bring him up and play him over Queen, Caleb and Chuma
-
Welcome to the club! lol I don’t like losing games we should win, but as you’ve mentioned, losing games like this before the deadline *should* force Weltman to make a move. This team as constructed is a 8-10 seed play-in team with a coin flip on getting a chance to get abused by Boston, Milwaukee or Philly in the first round. Also, I know I’ve been harsh on him, so need to shine some praise, kudos to JI for a season high of 22 minutes, all effective and even some crunch time. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come and he doesn’t get a rest day on Sunday

Leaving 8 points at the free throw line in a game you lose by 1 is brutal
-
I’m sure the last playcall was Paolo iso and Ingles winding up with the shot was all Paolo making the selfless and IMO correct play. If the shot goes in we’re all praising it. The last play didn’t lose us the game. And I agree on the AB takes. He’s a baby trying to learn one of if not the hardest position to play in professional sports. He’s gonna take patience, but injuries are continuing to force our hand to throw him into the fire
-
Yeah Kelle was either on a minutes restriction that wasn’t disclosed or reaggravated something. No other reason for him not playing in crunch time, esp with Suggs already out
-
This is what you get when you only take a team seriously for 10 minutes of a 48 minute game. Our easy schedule doesn’t mean a damn thing if we play entitled basketball. This is a bad loss any way you shake it. We’re past the point of moral victories and “at least we came back and only lost by 1” talk.

And Booker with 62. Crazy week of offense around the league
-
This 3rd quarter has been an effing clown act. This team is frustrating
-
Luke Kennard might be the nastiest magic killer in the nba right now, but other than him, yeah your point very much still stands
-
We’re supposedly the worst team in the league on the 2nd night of back to backs and also the worst team in the league on 3+ days rest… garbage defensive half. We need to be better from top to bottom
-
Just getting to watching. What happened to Jalen this time? Serious?
-
We’re 4-17 on the road in Memphis since the Grizzlies moved there from Vancouver… here’s to starting to reverse that trend tonight!
-
Suggs even addresses this himself on Russillo’s podcast. said he had to look in the mirror and say hey, this team already has ball handlers, where can I improve to fit in
-
Really great listen. The Ryen Russillo podcast episode from yesterday. Good convo with Suggs on his defense, the team, Paolo, etc. Def recommend the listen
-
Looks like Jalen Suggs was on the Ryen Russillo podcast this week. Giving it a listen now

If Fultz is a long term piece on this team it’s as a discount and a vet PG who will have to accept a bench role. His limitations and his injury history make him impossible to invest money in long term as a starter in today’s nba. If he wants to sign a long-term sweetheart deal like WCJ did, let’s do it, but I’m still looking for a more available option than can shoot to pair with him

https://x.com/beorlmagic/status/1750561453545861379?s=46&t=O_48d3F9zIM7WbaIMp7sdQ Q-Rich on Mike Miller and Udonis Haslem’s OG podcast saying good things about Jett and that he’s ready and also thinks we’ll make a trade. Q is pretty tied in.

I just saw a stupid rumor that I don’t believe, but it hinges around a Bulls/Pistons deal and Lavine and Cade. If there’s any chance Cade is available he’s the one to blow the asset load for. A Paolo/Franz/Cade trio to build around would be insane.
-
Gary Harris still not practicing or doing any contact work. He got hurt the same game as Franz and it’s being reported as a calf strain. My theory is we’re holding him out til the deadline due to his injury history. Not necessarily meaning we’re 100% trading him but we’re fielding calls
-
What if we could swing a Kelle deal around Shaedon Sharpe?
-
Oh I’ve been following since opening day 1989. I grew up with this team and been through every single high and low. This season, if you asked me before it started if a play-in spot would be enough I would’ve said hell yeah.. but I think the 14-5 start spoiled me. I want to at least have a round in the tournament this year
-
Serious question, if we max out as a team that finishes in the 7-10 slots and loses the play-in game or games, would you consider that a successful season?
-
I think this is another case of recency bias. There’s plenty of proof of us being aggressive in the past when the need arose and we were ready to contend. Horace Grant, Rashard Lewis, Steve Francis, Gilbert Arenas, Serge Ibaka, Bismack Biyombo some of these worked, some of these backfired hard. Rob Hennigan did some irreparable damage to our fanbase. My opinion is we’re ready for a 3rd star and we have the assets to acquire one. Just who’s available? And does Dejounte Murray now outweigh a potentially better option in the near future? I think playoff experience would be tremendous for this team, and I don’t think we are good enough right now to make a playoff run, but I also don’t want to sacrifice our whole load of assets unless it’s someone great who will be here for a long time. I want a small move, low risk rental like Hield as the most practical move this year so we can stay flexible going forward.
-
I feel like this is recency bias. Think back to deadline day 3 years ago when Weltman and Hammond blew up our entire core. I’m going off (maybe blind) hope that he does seem to have a track record of making a move when a move needs to be made.

I’m dreaming big this morning: Nets get WCJ, Fultz, Gary, Okeke, 2-3 future firsts Magic get Mikal, Ben Simmons Simmons I don’t expect anything from but I think the appeal of unloading his contract is the only way the Nets trade Bridges. Then we can let him expire and walk after next season right when it’s time to pay Franz. It won’t happen, but it’s fun to dream.
