Can’t blame the current coaching staff or roster for this series, they’re punching way out of their league and in some ways are performing admirably. I fear the game 1 upset has made a lot of us forget who this team really is. Flawed, inconsistent, one dimensional, and minimal depth. Add to it a boat load of injuries to important guys we should be grateful for a game 5. Weltman and Hammond have work to do.

I’ll be back here in a few hours, about to fly to Great Falls, Montana for work so I can’t watch the game live, but I’m optimistic. I’m going strictly on karma, juju and mojo, so we’ll see what happens, but today is my birthday (the big 3-3!!) and my seat on the plane is 3D (no ****!) so the buckets will hopefully be falling in and maybe the refs will actually ref Giannis fairly for once (shoulder shrug emoji that I can’t put on the forum). I’m realistic in my criticism of the team and I hate what the Devos’ stand for, especially since Rich passed (looking at you Betsy) but this team is my heart and soul and I’ll never be able to get rid of it, it’s engrained in me. Yeah, and add to all the questions what the Cap will look like now and be projected to look like in the future after Covid, if it ever freakin ends... a lot more questions than answers right now. For JI, if he misses all of next season, which I bet he would, I’d be extremely hesitant to pay him $14 mill coming off an ACL and a rookie contract that he only managed to be healthy for half of. Glad I’m not making these decisions!

This, unfortunately. Maybe the thing that works in our favor here is that we get him on a decent contract once his rookie deal is up and he starts to come in to his own. Kind of feel like the same thing could happen with Isaac because of his injury history. Then we still are able to maintain talent (assuming they can stay healthy and keep improving) and still have a Max FA spot available as our vets and expire. Kind of similar to the early GS path and how they wound up being able to have all those stars because they got Steph on the discount early because of his ankle. I know it’s a lot of hypothetical but it’s the only real way I can get excited about the future right now. I’d love to draft somebody this year with our first that’s only known as a shooter. We haven’t done that in forever and it’s killing us!

The bubble playoffs have brought two major things to light: 1) There is a ton of young talent in the league that are ready to bring on an exciting next generation of amazing basketball right now. 2) The Orlando Magic haven’t managed to get their hands on any of said generational talent in their decade long rebuild.

I’m with you in trading AG now, unfortunately. However, I don’t think it’s gonna net us a star. I think the move is AG and Vooch both moved for draft and future assets and restarting the rebuild again. The playoffs I guess have been “fun” the past 2 years, for a game, but getting the crap kicked out of us the next 4 has been tough to stomach. Let JI heal, let Markelle and Chuma take every shot, and see what kind of young assets you can get for your few vets. All that being said, I’m sure we’re gonna do something silly, DJ is gonna get a 2 or 3 year deal at 5/6 mill a year even though we should move on, and we’re just gonna keep hovering.

Yeah, that’s why I honestly don’t know why he’s wasting time on trying to get a 3 point shot. It’s not nearly as important for him as people claim it to be. Every second he’s not on the court or working out, he should have his ass plopped at the free throw line, that’s the only way he can get more dangerous than he already is.

Man, tough game. Fultz and Fournier are killing us, but more importantly not having AG and MCW is killing us. Hopefully we get one if not both of them back on Monday and they give me a win for my birthday. I’m trying not to overreact because we’re so out-talented in this series, it’s unreal. Add to it the fact that the refs don’t call Giannis fairly (he gets away with murder on D, gets to the line when he gets breathed on, and travels like a flight attendant without ever getting called for it) it’s been a frustrating 2 of 3 games, and word to the wise, the last 2 (or 3, or 4) will be just as frustrating.

Yeah, at this point with Bamba looking more like a bust than a ball player, I don’t see Vucevic going anywhere any time soon. Think it’s much more likely to see a package including Aaron (or Evan if he opts in) to try to get us more consistent scoring. I think the odds are much higher that we move Mo this offseason than Vooch, but I’ve been wrong before

Disagree here, even though in a perfect world it’d be great to get both back. Aaron is so much better than the guy we’re replacing him with in the rotation.
