Suggs and Fultz should be there putting work in with him on their 3s.

Guys work out on their own with their own trainers during the off-season, so I'm not worried.

With that being said, I always thought it was really cool when Jameer put on a "Team Camp" during the summers to increase team chemistry on and off the court. I hope someone brings that back.

  2. What I love about Denver is they had a really well-built TEAM. No "let's sign the best players and put just anyone around them." This was intentionally built and complimentary pieces - like AG - were added along the way.

This is the blueprint for the Magic to follow. Excited for what the future holds!

The Joker has amazing hands that make his play as a passer so good. I don't know that Paolo can handle it as well.

Paolo is 20 years old and was a high school QB who its said could have gone farther (6'8" as a freshman) but chose basketball for obvious reasons. He has great court vision that will only get better as the game slows down. I'm fully of the belief that if the offense runs through him he can average at least 7-8 assists per game with a good movement offense around him.

YUCATAN (Mexico) – The United States put the finishing touches on their dream week, outclassing Canada, 118-36, to win gold at the 2023 FIBA U16 Americas Championship.

Forward Cameron Boozer (son of former NBA player Carlos Boozer) led the way with 24 points (10/13 from the field) and 12 rebounds in just under 20 minutes and was named as the tournament's Most Valuable Player.

Cameron Boozer is an elite recruit who projects as one of the top guys in the 2025 recruiting class, if not the top pro prospect in all of high school basketball.

MAGIC have 2 1sts in the 2025 draft.....

I want to be making a deep playoff run by that point. Pass.

no it’s definitely perspective.. Banchero was interviewed by the crew and there was the topic height.. Nobody mentioned Paolo Banchero being same height as Jokic, nor did Paolo say so.. They basically said Jokic is tall for most centers, just like Paolo is tall for most Guards/wings

I mean, it's not like it's that far off. Paulo is 6'10" while Jokic is 6'11". If Paolo could beef up a bit, you definitely could run a team offense similar to Denver.

I am begging Mosely to run some Paolo at 5 lineups this season. There are some really stiff backup bigs in the league that it'd be laughable to try and watch guard Paolo on the perimeter.

Did Paolo grow more over the last year?? Love the idea of running him at the 5, though he's not a particularly great interior defender or rebounder, which would concern me on the defensive side.

I’m happy for the NBA, too. It’s nice to see a team like Denver, a new contender at that, rise to the top.

I can't imagine the NBA will be very happy about this. Nikola Jokic is one of the best players in the world but from a marketability standpoint is subpar, similar to when Tim Duncan was winning with San Antonio. He's certainly not a bad ambassador for the game (humble, great BB IQ), but doesn't have flashy dunks or even a charismatic personality to bring in casual fans.

Players with high basketball iq are way too undervalued if they can’t 360 dunk.

I’m talking to you WeHam. and most teams in the league.

So many draft on potential they'll learn the game with athleticism and not on BB IQ and intangibles. Best example of this is Jokic.

You certainly need athletes but guys like JJ Redick, Austin Reaves, Grant Williams, and others have great value as needed role players on championship teams.

I give it I dunno 70%. The other 30% is split between trading up for Scoot or trading out of one of the two picks for some future assets which I think would be smart if we can get someone to commit like 3 firsts or something.

We have so many  young players that need time and minutes. I could totally see us trading out of the first round or trading one of our picks for a pick another year to a team we assume won't be great in 2-3 years. Too many mouths to feed right now. With that being said, the way to work around that is to just trade away some of that young talent, along with the picks, to move up for an elite talent.

"There’s a belief around the league that Orlando is open to moving the No. 6 and No. 11 picks if the Magic can move into the 3-5 range."

(Disclaimer: I don't believe this reporter is reputable.)

What is likelihood we stand pat? I'm giving it an 85% chance we just stay at 6 and 11 and get great role-players to grow with the team that compliment Fultz, Paolo, and Franz. Unless we think Scott / Miller is a can't-miss prospect, I don't see us trading one or two of our core assets, along with our picks, for them.

Grant Williams wouldn’t be bad if that last year is a team option like you said.

I just can’t decide on Trent Jr. He can score for sure and is the right age for this team. He just does little else and will probably cost a lot. There aren’t a lot of options at Guard but I still like him better than FVV and what he will cost.

Next years free agents aren’t great either. I think consolidating players and picks for a trade is the way to go at some point between this years draft and the trade deadline.

Both players would be great adds. Grant Williams I've followed since college (my wife is a pretty hard core Tennessee fan - was the 2x SEC Player of the Year) and he's not just a hard-working player but is incredibly smart and a great locker room guy (He's the VP of the NBAPA this year, replacing Andre Igudala in that role). He was only a 2nd round pick but has obviously made the most of what natural gifts he has as a 6'6" PF essentially. He'll always be a reserve, but he'll push guys to be the best version of themselves on and off the court.

100% behind this signing as there are intangibles there that won't show up on the stat line.

So, why not us be the pickers of Coulibaly with # 6?

If future phenom Ausar has been in the conversation for us at 6, Coulibaly has merits too.

A few facts of each of them:

    Ausar - 21 in January

    6'7", 7' wingspan, 218 lbs

Playing professional since 2021 in OTE League. OTE is a pro league for players 16 - 20 years old

    Coulibaly - 19 in July

    6'8", 7'3"wingspan, 190 lbs

Playing professional since 2021 in LNB Pro A League.  LNB Pro A League is the top-tier men's professional basketball league in France.

In addition, he was a guard until he had (Soul's post) a late growth spurt that took him from 5-11 as a 16-year-old...to 6'7" - 6'8"

    NOTE OF INTEREST:

"Three weeks later, Brad Stevens was seated courtside at the Palais des Sports Marcel Cerdan, the Mets arena. The president of basketball operations for the Boston Celtics was attending an off-season game between the Mets and Le Portel. People were whispering, Is he there for Victor [Wembanyama]? No. Bilal Coulibaly was the only reason for Stevens’ appearance. But sadly, he was injured"

I'M SURE THAT THE MAGIC'S FRONT OFFICE KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON AND ARE DOING THEIR DUE DILIGENCE....AS THEY DID WITH FRANZ AND PAOLO !!!

I'm strapped in for him at #6. If he's European, I'm sure his fundamentals are sound and there's no way he lasts to #11.

In all honesty, I love European NBA players and their upside for great team basketball over a lot of USA players. Fundamentals and team concepts (passing, team defense positioning) tend to be a lot higher.

I’m not going to get too deep into personal political beliefs because I don’t feel it’s appropriate as a moderator on this forum. However, I will say Isaac making his platform he decides to stand on one of not supporting his teammates is disappointing. I wish he’d stop playing politics and get his ass back on the court for more than a handful of games every few seasons.

He has his right to live and promote whatever he wants, no matter what anyone on here thinks, but I will echo that this somewhat rubs me the wrong way - regardless of my personal positions - because it hasn't felt like he's prioritized getting healthy, supporting his teammates, or living up to his contract as he has promoting his brand and its agenda.

Should he play 70+ games next year with meaningful minutes as a contributor to our playoff team, I may feel differently.

We promised Caleb Houstan literally last year though.

It could be a smokescreen though.

Anything promising a guy in the second round is a lot different than promising a guy at the number six or number 11 pick. You just don't know what might transpire unless you are unbelievably high on that guy

  15. 43 minutes ago, Soul Bro said:

I fully agree with you. I think it's us. Fits our type and timeline. Additionally, WeltHam seem to like humble, team-centric guys with European connections.

But why promise a guy, and even more so, know that the guy will probably put it out there as leverage. I just don't see is leaking or promising anything, even if there's some merit to it. Could be a smokescreen by his agent too

  16. Is there any rationale to save salary cap space knowing the CBA is going to be much harder on luxury taxes in the coming years and presumably our rookies coming up in the next 2-3 years will all see pretty advanced pay raises, including Paolo whom at this rate of growth might get a max contract?

I think we could get any them for one pick, Isaak’s contract and a guard out if the group of (Cole, Suggs, or Harris).

The market is still high for players considering the Rudy Gobert trade. Unless we're looking at multiple picks and young assets, I must think the asks are going to be too high unless the other side really is in desperate need of moving the contract. I think all 3 would have those issues.

  18. 2 hours ago, Soul Bro said:

Hmmm... I'm probably not the guy to answer that question. I think the top 3 are possibly generational talented, and I think the top 12 offer real rotational-caliber players. I don't know what #6 could fetch us, but as I brought up a few pages back, if Houston is open for business, I'd be down with Smith Jr. At this point, my hope is we find a way to draft Scoot.

I think Houston trades #6 for Jabari. That also tells you how potentially deep this draft is if so.
