  1. Would they mind trading him to a small-market team? Like an Orlando? I feel as though most of the league would approve an Orlando trade since it is a small market team and would have someone to challenge Miami in the same division, of which everyone hates and wants to see lose anyway.
  2. Quote: johnhollinger John Hollinger This is nuts. This was a *BAD* trade by the Lakers, but other owners so jealous of their shiny object they blocked it anyway. Agree? I didn't want him there, but looking hindsight, was it a good or bad trade? My analysis: Surface: Adequate. Undersurface: Increases Chances of Dwight coming in some form or fashion. So perhaps good.
  3. He can go to the Clippers or Warriors for all I care. Just not the Lakers. This is the BEST News for small market teams in years. :shard:
  4. :bigparty: :bigparty: BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! YESSSS!!!!!

  6. Jerk. I had to look at my twitter twice to realize it was a fake. Ugh.
  7. At that rate, they really don't need Dwight. I still see him staying here. I'm not worried. And there's no way in heck Otis is trading him to LA.
  8. This is like the trade for Gasol. Doesn't make any sense for the other team. I'm totally buying into the conspiracy theory. I'm done with the NBA should Dwight go to LA.
  9. IT's official on Twitter - Shane's announced he's signing with Miami. Eddy Curry is expected to follow suit. Why do I even watch the NBA anymore?
  10. You dog. I was so excited at the thought of getting Battier right there. Hopes = Crushed.
  11. I've never really understood this: J-Rich is bigger and more explosive than Ellis (albeit older and therefore has less years). Ellis is undersized, is quick, can create his own shot... but can't really do much else.... And likes to throw up shots in bulk.... on a team with a bunch of shooters? I don't see how this helps us other than appeasing Dwight's "wish list"?
  12. If only Otis hadn't offered VC, Gortat, Peaches, and co for an lethargic player who eats too pizza before games!!! gahasoiajwef;oiaejwf;oijaewf
  13. Upgrade? More like downgrade. I'd rather have JJ starting than Jamal Crawford. The fact of the matter is the guy shoots 30 shots in a game, makes 35%, doesn't play defense, can't pass, and is on the downside of his career. JJ does everything you want outside outside of being able to create his own shot, and for a better price. Frankly, I'd rather stand pat than get a Jamal Crawford or Monte Ellis. I don't want Chuckers. I want guys who can be team players. Get me a Shane Battier.
  14. Clippers are the only team he would sign long-term with. Celtics: he's gone after next year. Rajan is the only good, young player they have, and he'd be traded. Unless there's going to be an immense amount of cap space for the Celtics come next season, I don't know why Paul would stay there.
  15. "We have a great relationship, and he consistently reached out to me." It seems like Dwight initiated texting BVW and gave him a call too that Alex responded to later on in the night (in poor timing). Obviously this has had a tremendous impact and is probably the reason why he stepped down. Nonetheless though, I still think he's good for the Magic and has a passion for the team. He just made a poor judgement call and is having to step down at least for a short time. At least that's my take.
  16. Nothing juicy yet. Keep you posted!
  17. There's a part of me that believes Jameer is off limits unless Dwight gives it the green light. Dwight and Jameer are indeed best friends, even brothers. Jameer has been a great mentor for Dwight in the last few years. Jameer wants to be a starter, but I believe also wants to be a winner. We wouldn't be able to get CP3 or DWill here without giving up Jameer I'm sure, but if it's possible, look for it to happen. Jameer is the #2 Do-Not-Touch guy on the Magic's list. He's a leader, a competitor, clutch, a great representative of the organization in the community, and above all, one of Dwight's best friends. Jameer's a competitor and wouldn't want to be benched for another PG. If that does happen, look for him to land a 6th man J.J. Barea type role.
  18. I keep telling myself the same thing. While I'd be hurt, I'm an Orlando Magic fan through and through. Through the good times, and the bad. While this isn't indicative of either good or bad, I know that despite whatever pain this upcoming season brings, I'm standing by my team until the end.
  19. My above post should be negated. THIS explains everything.
  20. I only remember he's RVD's son-in-law because he was immediately promoted to a high management position in the Magic Organization shortly after his marriage. Humorous, to say the least. A 6 hour meeting (I believe) means they were discussing how to better the Magic team. The meeting would have been much shorter had Howard wanted to up-and-leave. Couple that with the report that Chris Paul's preferred destinations now include the Magic (as reported by RealGM), it gives me inclination that Dwight wants a couple of things done. Perhaps BVW refused to allow for the company to be run by a player who wouldn't commit, and ultimately, he stepped down because he refused to let a player run the organization with his high demands. Humorously enough, it was BVW who gave the "unlimited green light" to have Otis start spending like crazy to keep Dwight. Which brings me back to my original question: Did Alex step down due to Dwight's demands, or did Dwight not like his tactics and made the ultimatum of "him-or-me." And if, God forbid, this is to create a scape-goat with Dwight's leaving in the coming days, I ponder at the timing of the announcement. The decision doesn't seem to match up with the possibility.
  21. Pull an Urban Meyer? I'm intrigued. Liklihood seems absurdly slim since he JUST retired. You'd have to give it at least a year before Phil has enough of an itch to come back.
  22. Isn't Vander Weide the son-in-law of Rich DeVos? I couldn't see Devos, the owner of the company, letting go of his son-in-law. This is a Dwight move. The question is: Why did Dwight want him gone?
