OFFICIAL GAMETHREAD: ORLANDO @ NEW ORLEANS
TreyMachine replied to The Neighborhood Bully's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Definitely. Our guys are going to be tired. This is a great energy and morale booster with not being able to close out the last few games. -
The Official 2015-2016 Regular Season Thread
TreyMachine replied to Fultz4thewin's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Don't see it happening. Easy E is far too introverted to ever want to be the center of attention in a movie. If anyone would want to be in a movie, I see Oladipo wanting to be. Oladipo is loyal however, and I see him staying with the Magic should be want him. Person most likely to leave us: Hezonja. He's dreamed of being the star in a big city ever since he was a kid. 4 years from now, he may bolt... but we've got a LONNGGG way to go before we even need to worry about that being a scenario. -
Don't know if anyone else posted this or not: :shard:

I think our line-up could be better in a year or two, but I'm skeptical of this year. George is incredibly good and Hill people forget is a very, very good guard who was integral on the Spurs for a number of years. On the other hand, now that I think about it, I think Oladipo / Payton give Ellis / George fits on defense, and there's a very good likelihood that if Gordon can play tight D on George, we have a true fighting chance against this team THIS year.
-
That's it? Before signing CJ Watson, I believe we had the cap space if we had wanted him. What happened to him wanting to be the starting center? Is Boogie moving to PF now?
-
If anyone can get the most of him defensively, it's Skiles. :headbang:
-
Agreed. However, we got the steal of last year's draft in Elfrid Payton. Having another #10 pick would have been sweet, but in the end, we got the best long-term guy that fits our team needs in Hezonja.
-
They are literally taking on any bad contract possible to get help for LeBron and make sure they aren't stuck with Lebron vs. the West's Contender next year. Even without Joe Johnson, I don't see how any other team could win the East.

Is there any way to watch outside of an NBATV subscription?
-
I have no idea what's going on on this board. I leave for a day and come back to arguments about the use of word "literally." You know we've gotten to the slow part of the offseason when semantics becomes our primary contention. :dustball:

Kyle seemed to always be at the center of the team's personality. Bright, vocal, and encouraging, he was the ultimate teammate even when he wasn't getting minutes. It seemed he led the campaigns of rookie pranks, was a hard worker, and always had a smile on his face. I understand why we couldn't afford to keep him, but I do believe we'll miss his laid-back locker room presence and the true friendship he had with so many of our core players. Because of the great dude he is, I hope that he does become a player that flourishes in NYC and becomes a guy we say, "Man - why did we let him get away?" Good luck, KOQ. You will be missed!

And so begins that injury bug we thought might happen with a skinny 7'2" player... http://nypost.com/2015/07/01/knicks-say-porzingis-will-play-in-summer-league-but-his-brothers-not-so-sure/ Looks like we may have lucked out that Porzingis didn't drop to us :shard:

So essentially everyone on here is rooting for Aldridge to go to the Suns so Morris is expendable?
-
The Magic are assuming someone is going to offer him something. On another note, that's just straight shady if Tobias's camp is trying to keep things hushed because he "doesn't want the Magic to know." Disrespectful and not the kind of player you want on your team.
-
I think Tobias is a good teammate and a solid ambassador for the community. I think he's also not too bright and has a lot of "yes men" around him telling him he's worth a max contract when he's not. Even worse, people are making him sound like a crybaby behind the scenes. If he's willing to buy in and really work on all parts of his game, I'm all for resigning him and bringing him back in any capacity. I just honestly don't think he's ever going to have the basketball IQ to become an elite passer and defender, and I think the Magic Brass recognize that.

Things I noticed: 1. Hezonja is fiddling with his jersey to get it perfectly folded... The dude A) pays attention to detail, and B) Is probably slightly OCD. Don't know how this will translate to basketball, but it's interesting. 2. Henny really does seem to be giddy talking about Mario and following him. 3. Mario always has his eyebrow raised like he knows something that the rest of us don't know. 4. Tyler looks like he's so scared to be there... like.. he hasn't moved or looked away for the past 3 minutes... 5. Really like Tyler Harvey's story about being a walk-on who went on to lead the national in college basketball scoring. 6. Mario, despite having the "I'm the best on the court" mantra, is really speaking with humility. I wasn't expecting this. Overall, nothing outside of the ordinary in these interviews.

Anyone have thoughts about the press conference? I'm about to watch it.
-
I'm happy we're not moving around too much (stability), but I'm also like trying to wrap my head around how we're going to get good enough to make the jump into the playoffs next year.
-
The Magic aren't a big enough market or a close enough contender. The fact that Alridge is considering giving the Lakers a second chance, as well as is giving the Heat a chance, speaks volumes. If I were Alridge though, I would look to an Eastern Conference Team. Much, much easier road to the Finals.

I think every team is seeing this and has caught on - outside of LA and NYK. Even BOSTON is beginning to understand the slow growth model a bit better. The only problem with this method is that it's not great for the NBA. You have 10 teams competing for a championship, 10 teams stuck in the middle, and 10 bottoming out as fast as possible. Perhaps this is the way the NBA always is, but it just makes the intention of losing that much more obvious for those bottom 10 teams.
-
We will 100% sign him. It's now a matter of if we keep him or trade him immediately thereafter... which I'm assuming is what the Magic are looking at right now.
-
Even when he was on the team, Jameer and Afflalo were STILL our best players. Glen Davis gets praised because he had ONE good playoff series in one of the biggest basketball cities in the country.
-
I consider it, but I also see him as a professional whom I do think likes his teammates. Him and Skiles would get past their differences if they had to in my mind, especially if we're paying him $80 mil over 4 years. On the other hand, I can TOTALLY see a sign-and-trade happening for Tobias's contract. As I stated before, if Phil Jackson wants to right this ship and get NY back on his side, making a Tobias-for-Porzingis trade would be a win-win for both sides. I would only assume the Magic would get some salary or something else in return too.
-
With no suitable replacement, I'm positive we match any offer sheet Harris gets, including a max deal. Now if the Knicks want to talk about trading the rights to Portzingis to us in a sign-and-trade... Would you guys consider such a trade?
-
Mario has the chutzpa to do this. Wouldn't put it past him if management asked. Would also become my favorite player of all-time if such a scenario happened.
