As crazy as all this stuff is, I'm anxious to see how it works. I trust that Otis has a plan and isn't just reacting. Let's see how it plays out on the court before all of these doom-and-gloom prophecies go out.

Clark is a guy who has tons of potential but may never reach it. He has great athletic tools but whether he ever "gets it" or not remains to be seen.

I'm fairly certain Nelson has never been mentioned in any of these rumors.

I understand the rivalry and its significance but I am just in agreement with Berto and Ryan that the scope of it can often turn us all into fingerpointers and **** talkers and occassionally it would be nice to be civil. Of course, civility isn't a popular vocabulary word for most of us here at TBN :shard:

Let's be real here, Lewis. I'm fairly certain you're basically the same age as me. For as long as we've been in college it hasn't been a rivalry, and that's not even a jab at FSU. Now maybe you are a lifelong Nole and can remember the power struggle in the 90s, but I wasn't a Gator until I came here. I wasn't brought up in the rivarly, and so I personally have never really even bought into it. In fact, I've said several times in this thread that I wish FSU luck. The rivalry is the last thing I care about. I like seeing my team do well and I care about little else in regard to college football. The only reason I wrote in this thread today is because Urb stepping down is a pretty big story. I was hoping to discuss it with people intelligently but of course that was a failure, as I should have expected. The irritability that you took from my post had to deal with the fact that no one really cares to have intelligent conversations anymore, we'd rather just say things like CUMeyer. It had 0 to do with UF vs. FSU, which I thought was pretty apparent in my post on the last page.

It's getting to that point with me. I can understand being a passionate fan but I can't understand blind ignorance, or better yet, namecalling.

CUMeyer? What? Most coaches are pretty obsessive and passionate but Urban has always seemed to take it to another level. There's no doubt that 25 years of coaching that way has taken a toll on him both physically and mentally. Do I think the fact that we sucked this year made it easier for him to leave? Absolutely. I can see how some people (even quite a few of the people I saw on campus today) would label him a "quitter" but it's clear that we're gonna be rebuilding (somewhat) for at least the next couple of years. If he thinks this is the right time to step down after all he's done for the university I think that is fine. College football is cyclic. FSU was down and now seems to be on the verge of reemerging. We were on top for a while and now we're in a lull. Why don't we try to be logical and think through these things before we starting throwing out superlatives and saying things like "CUMeyer". I don't even know what that means.

Not our best game, but there are a few of these every season. A couple of guys catch fire, nobody can stop 'em, and all of the sudden you're down 6 in a game that shouldn't be close. Happy to see us fight back and get the W.

Ryan and I agreed in the chatroom yesterday that we would get crushed and, well, we did. You can't win football games against good teams without throwing the ball down the field. Everything can't be swing passes and dive plays. This isn't 1900, the forward pass is alive and well. With that said, FSU is just MUCH better than us and they proved it today. I hope they win the ACC.
