The first pick in the 2011 NBA draft was still about as falsely advertised as they come. Irving was considered safe and solid, but the words "spectacular" or "superstar" weren't uttered often. The lack of buzz came mostly from Irving's athleticism, which failed to meet the standards that guys like Derrick Rose or John Wall set before him. sounds like burke to me. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1659729-the-most-dead-wrong-scouting-reports-in-nba-draft-history/page/4

Very Good Bmac Video It shows a lot of the pros and Cons

so you noticed the new big board Though, I really like burke and he will be an impact player. There will be a lot of pgs next year. (I dont think we win wiggins.) I have always liked victor and him next to Harrison/Hill/ smart would be sexy. I dont like victor next to harkless because of spacing but our team is not a finished project so you can not just go by best fit. This is the same reason burke is third on the list. Victor will be a better defender than Harkless and can guard pgs or sgs. This is valuable in this new non hand check nba. Bottom-line, I would rather take victor or bmac than trade to the 9th or higher pick. There is even less talent in this weak draft than I can stomach. outside the top 5 spots, I will not be happy.

I understand that but you can do a lot worse out side of those picks. Reece gaines just flashed in my head. :panicworker:

This is the trade I would be looking for 5 and 30 I want a top 5 talent and an additional asset. If we made this trade than burke would be the choice. If we keep the 2 pick we go best player; Bmac or Victor I want to walk away with one of these players on this list (in this order) 1) Victor 2) Bmac 3) Burke 4) noel (though, I dont like injured players) I think it would be a fail to lose out on one of these players. How long has it been since we got a top 5 talent?

Thomas Robinson getting dumped by Houston. Any interest?

if Robinson gets time on the court he has a nice motor but he gets upset about pt. -
I was blackhennie before the switch to the new system.

how long are you willing to put up with being bad?
LaVar replied to God Hates Otis Smith's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
after 2014 draft, we should have the talent because of the young players we already have now and from this years draft. We will need one year to jelly. so I said 2 years. we have 2 first round picks next year. -
cheers

a lot of people see mcclloum as a pg. so, your pg ranking is: 1 mcclloum 2 mcw 3 schoeder 4 burke :svgsad:

Denton: Now Retired, Hill Didn't Deserve Criticism While With Magic
LaVar replied to Franchise408's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Rose sat out an extra 6 months so this should not be an issue. Him not coming back for the playoffs is reflection of him looking at grants situation. -
I was meaning the dallas pick at 13

McLemore is the better fit for o town but Oladipo is the better talent to me. Victors offense is stronger than McLemores Defensive. Victor was one of the most efficient offensive players in college ball. He is better off the dribble than b mac and a better finisher around the basket. McLemore does not beat victor at any phase of the defensive end. The best thing to do is to trade the 2nd for the sun's 5th pick and 30th. Grab both Burke and Jeff Withey. Then try to pick up the 13th pick and grab Kethavious caldwell-Pope. (Shabazz if pope is already taken.) To me, Pope is a better defender than Bmac and can provide a lot of the same shooting ability. Line up: Nick / Withey / Quinn Baby / Drew Harris/ Harkless / Jones AA / Caldwell-Pop / Moore Burke/Nelson / Moore If we keep number 2 pick, we should grab victor. With the 13th we should than get Dennis Schroeder or MCW. Mcw for upside but Schroeder for 3 point shot and better ability to handle pressure. MCW is bad with the ball and can hardly score. Nick / Quinn Baby / Drew Harris / Harkless Victor / AA Nelson / Schreder Victor and Bledsoe / Andrew Harrison / Marcus Smart / Kasey Hill would be nasty on the court.

They will not want any salaries or picks for this year, because they are looking to trade for cap space. -
I agree. I dont want him at all. I rather keep nelson and moore until next year's draft.
-
Salary out look. turk can be cut and also harrington for less money. http://www.hoopsworld.com/orlando-magic-team-salary
-
I would be worried with passing. Bledsoe can shot. I think he was 40% last year from 3. we would have monster def.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1660129-every-nba-teams-most-likely-2013-free-agent-signing/page/23 I do not want the magic to go after Brandon Jennings. He is a pure gunner.
-
may I ask why? He is athletic but not much more than that on the court. He may be in the top 5 of most athletic players though... lol
-
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=a2f7wub you can do it, but I agree we can get more. It does clear cap for us.

Magic Going All In For Chris Paul's Backup?
LaVar replied to Jagsfreak27's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
I did say over 7 mil. plus, he has only played in limited mins so it is hard to compare him to player that have a larger body of work. mike conley makes 7.5mil. -
but Nerl(ens), you dont state any areas that you see bias. I had ben second best on my wish list before I thought of the matrix. What bias do you speak of? even if i sub in post move for 3 point shooting or strength for dribbling. Noel's rating would be about the same, so I saw no reason to change the listings for one big.
-
When teams look at players they normally evaluate them with a Matrix. So, I wanted to do a matrix to show how I see each player and how they compare in different categories. (The best way to do a matrix is to have a different matrix for each position and to list all prospect, but I wanted to quickly post something.) In my scouting, Victor rated the highest. He scored 116 on the matrix with Burke coming in second at 108. Before the Matrix my Big Board was: 1) Burke 2) BMac 3) Victor 4) Noel (I don't like injuried players) 5) Porter Here is the Matrics results: Player: Trey Burke Matrix Score = 108 Dribbling = 9 Passing = 9 3pt Shooting = 8 Mid Range Shooting = 9 Finishing at the rim = 6 Creating Offense = 8 Intangibles = 9 Defensive Instincts = 6 Size for Position = 8 Athleticism = 7 Motor = 7 Blocks = 6 Steals = 5 Rebounding = 4 Potential Allstar Upside = 7 Player: Ben Mclemore Matrix Score = 98 Dribbling = 6 Passing = 7 3pt Shooting = 10 Mid Range Shooting = 8 Finishing at the rim = 7 Creating Offense = 5 Intangibles = 5 Defensive Instincts = 6 Size for Position = 7 Athleticism = 9 Motor = 7 Blocks = 4 Steals = 5 Rebounding = 4 Potential Allstar upside = 8 Player: Victor Oladipo Matrix Score = 116 Dribbling = 7 Passing = 5 3pt Shooting = 6 Mid Range Shooting = 7 Finishing at the rim = 10 Creating Offense = 7 Intangibles = 9 Defensive Instincts = 10 Size for Position = 8 Athleticism = 10 Motor = 10 Blocks = 4 Steals = 10 Rebounding = 6 Potential Allstar upside = 7 Player: Otto Porter Matrix Score = 105 Dribbling = 6 Passing = 8 3pt Shooting = 10 Mid Range Shooting = 8 Finishing at the rim = 6 Creating Offense = 5 Intangibles = 7 Defensive Instincts = 7 Size for Position = 9 Athleticism = 6 Motor = 8 Blocks = 7 Steals = 5 Rebounding = 8 Potential Allstar upside = 5 Player: Nerlens Noel Matrix Score = 102 Dribbling = 3 Passing = 6 3pt Shooting = 0 Mid Range Shooting = 2 Finishing at the rim = 10 Creating Offense = 5 Intangibles = 5 Defensive Instincts = 10 Size for Position = 7 Athleticism = 10 Motor = 8 Blocks = 10 Steals = 8 Rebounding = 9 Potential Allstar upside = 9 What do you think of my ratings in each spot? Does it look fair? How would your ratings and ranking look?
-
it is hard to lead on the bench, so you can not give noel a high number on intangibles. McLemore runs away from the ball at important moments in the game. He is not a vocal leader. He does not make others better outside of his shooting. Mclemore shoots less mid range shots than burke because he can not create off the dribble or play pick and roll. He does not have a motor to create consistent space off screens. McLemore is more of a spot up shooter and transition player. Burke can create off the dribble, pick and roll. Burke processes a very good step back shot from mid range. Mclemore has low defensive awareness, a low motor, average nba sg size at 6"4 - 6"5 height and 6" 7 wingspan. He is not a better shot blocker at sg than Victor. The defensive rankings are more based on position. Burke at pg was second on his team in blocks. He had 20. (.5 blocks per game) At burke's position he is above average in length at 6"6 wingspan.
