Magic Extend Contracts of General Manager Rob Hennigan and Head Coach Jacque Vaughn...
The Orlando Magic have exercised their fourth-year team option and extended the contracts of General Manager Rob Hennigan and Head Coach Jacque Vaughn, Chief Executive Officer Alex Martins announced today. Both contracts have been extended through the 2015-16 season. Per team policy, terms of the deal are not disclosed.
"Rob (Hennigan) and Jacque (Vaughn) have worked extremely hard in establishing a culture which embodies teamwork, hard work, hunger for success and humility," said Martins. "With their strategic direction and leadership, we feel we are headed in the right direction, which will allow us to achieve our goals of contending in a long-term, sustainable fashion."
Hennigan was named general manager of the Magic on June 20, 2012. He is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the team’s basketball operations, including day-to-day business, roster management and development, player acquisitions, salary cap management, analytical systems, and process development throughout the department. Hennigan spent the previous four seasons (2008-12) with Oklahoma City, including his last two seasons as the Thunder’s assistant general manager/player personnel.
Vaughn became the tenth head coach in Orlando Magic history on July 27, 2012. He is the second-youngest head coach in the NBA. Prior to joining the Magic, Vaughn spent two seasons (2010-12) as an assistant coach with the San Antonio Spurs. He played 12 years in the NBA from 1997-2009, including 80 games with Orlando in 2002-03. Vaughn was a member of the San Antonio Spurs 2006-07 NBA Championship team.

I agree, and I think it's mental. If your mind is not in it you can't perform, I know this because I used to dominate in pick-up games but then I choked when the stakes were high. Not totally the same thing, but still something mental that you have to overcome
And btw, the Hibbert that played in the ECF last year was awesome, great defense and some underrated post moves. His FT% wasn't terrible and if I had to choose that Hibbert or Dwight, I'd probably go with the former.
Hibbert over Howard? Surely not mp.
Prime Howard poos all over Hibbert.
-
Because he's been basically toxic. I'm a big Hibbert fan but he's getting outplayed by Mahinmi and Vogel doesn't trust him. Even Scola and Copeland get more minutes than Hibbert now
Hibbert is WACK and he is nowhere near D12. To think people even have them in the same breath is mad mate
-
He barely played tonight
do you know why mp?

Someone explain to me how ROY HIBBERT is/was a ALL STAR??
That long streak of piss is ****!!!!!!!!!!

Pretty funny how u guys harp on Westbrook but Durant is just as ineffective. Maybe credit MEM defense? Strange thought! And trading Westbrook is a stupid idea. If someone offered a top 3 pick in this draft maybe but nobody will do that. You'll lose on any deal.
if okc said they would give us westbrook for the 3rd pick do we say no?
-
I think we'll walk away from this draft with a PG: Exum, Smart, Ennis or the random dude from Louisiana Tech. I also wouldn't be surprised to see a trade for R. Jackson or even Westbrook. I'm excited to see a new backcourt!
don't want reggie ( crazy frog ) jackson
-
Yes, but it involves all 14 lotto teams, which is the important part. For example, if Denver were somehow able to get a top 3 pick this year in the lotto, then the Hornets get the 9th pick and we get the 11th pick.
I could totally see MJ trade the 9th pick for AA.
I'll take number 1-3, 9 and 11 in this draft all day LOL
Can you imagine!

We could use pieces from the Thunder but I don't see Charlotte being anything worth it besides picks and even then would Detroit's pick even be top 10?
as it stands Detroit are picking 8th
-
Charlotte has Detroit's pick this year which is Top 8 protected, I'd move Afflalo if it goes to Charlotte.
protected as in if its 8 it will go to the cats? Explain if you can please. I'm abit confused.
If we got 3 lotto picks WOW!
-
Kemba!
would u be happy with that?
-
Charlotte has picks 24 & 45 in the NBA Draft...

The Charlotte Bobcats will target Arron Afflalo and Jameer Nelson in a potential trade.
Steve Clifford is believed to be fond of Afflalo and Nelson.
Nelson, 32, is entering the final season of his contract at $8 million, but only $2 million of that is guaranteed if Nelson is waived by July 15.
Afflalo, 28, is due to earn $7.5 million next season and has a player option for 2015-16, also valued at $7.5 million.

I'm not totally sold on him but I think he'd bring a toughness to the team that we need
tough, shot blocker, defender, has good moves. he is underated at pf & young enough to improve.
-
This isn't exactly free agency news, but would you guys want to take on Taj Gibson to allow the Bulls to free up salary cap space for a run at Melo??? Hmmm…
I think we could trade Meer for him.
TAJ GIBSON would be the perfect pf next to Vucevic IMO!

How many upsets do y'all have in the first round? Washington and Brooklyn look strong. Memphis up on OKC. Pacers being terrible. Portland with double home court advantage. And Spurs lost a bad one to the Mavs.
It could be interesting to see who wins in each of these series. This is the best overall first round in a long time.
I don't see wizards and Brooklyn as upsets personally. They are the better rosters imo. Seeding wise i know it would be a upset...
Memphis would be the biggest shock but again imo the are not your typical 8th seed.
Hawks beating the pacers would be, The way portland has done so far has been a upset i guess but i expect Harden will have something to say next 2 games.
Spurs are lucky they are not 2-0 down.
-
Maybe we go for Bledsoe again? This summer will be exciting big time ( i hope & think )
-
Kyle Lowry unrestricted would be a nice pick up. Doubt it would happen.
-
I would rather not wait multiple years to hope for luck.
never said wait years. They could be options
-
Aldridge could be a option in 2015.
I'd rather make a play for Durant a year later though.
-
I really like Terrence Jones
We was 1 pick away from drafting him i reckon.
