Pietrus to miss 3-5 weeks with torn thumb ligament

I am not underestimating them, but we have a tendency to really step up against the great teams. We don't need more injuries now. I wonder if Crittenton is starting to look more attractive as a combo guard to Otis? What could we give up to get him? Certainly not JJ at this point. OMG, did I just say JJ was valuable? lol

  8. NEW YORK -- Talk about pressure. Patrick Ewing Jr. is following in the footsteps of his famous father again. The New York Knicks acquired the younger Ewing from the Houston Rockets on Friday in exchange for the draft rights to center Frederic Weis, one of the most widely panned picks in franchise history. "Coming to the Knicks, and hopefully being able to contribute, means a lot to me," Ewing Jr. said in a statement. "It has always been my dream to play for this team. My goal is to show the coaches that I can play and do all that I can to help the team win some games." http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3559816 "New York drafted Weis with the 15th overall pick in 1999, passing on Artest, Andrei Kirilenko and James Posey, among others. The 7-foot-2 center never joined the Knicks and is most known for being on the wrong end of an incredible Vince Carter dunk in the 2000 Olympics. Weis, from France, won a silver medal in Sydney and is currently playing for a Spanish club." This sucks. It would have been worth trading Franny if they'd bite. I can't see why the Magic wouldn't have taken a chance on the kid. Especially when Dad is here already. What do you folks think?

Magic to be patient in finding backup PG

quote: Originally posted by MilitaryMagic:Their net operating income of $5m does not include taxes, depreciation, or amoritization. By the books, it is entirely likely they are losing money. No offense meant, but you missunderstood the statement. They have a reported profit margin of 5-mil. Profit is only taken into consideration after all overhead and taxes are paid. Otherwise it isn't considered profit. That would be part of the gross, not the net.

    No adjustments made against Pistons

Only one adjustment was needed to be made. A sledge hammer to the officials and Sheeds knees. And your right. It wasn't made. We needed an enforcer to slap Detroit around. Utilising our two young thugs on the bench would have made a difference. Heck, one of em could have started a brawl in game 1 and got Sheed tossed for the entire series.

Bad officiating caused us today's game.

And yes, we ended up settling for way too many jump shots. But..... The officiating in this entire round was very slanted and scewed in Detroits favor. That last shot by Turk, Prince hit him in the chest with his right hand and tipped his shooting hand with his left. Bottom line, the officials gave the entire series to the Pistons as a gift. Yeah, I said it. It was a gift. Enjoy it Detroit cause this is your last year among the elite in this league. Next year "We Got Next" and there aint nothing or nobody to save your face then. It's an absolute shame that a non-contact sport has come to this. I keep hearing that Dwight needs to toughen up. To what???? Does he now need to resort to cheating? What needs to toughen up is Sterns stance on BS officiating. You'd think after an official gets busted for bad calls in return for mob money that Stern would clean up. But no..... Not Stern. Greedy ***** just keeps on going just like it never happened. I love my Magic and I will always be here, but this sh@t has got to stop. i can't put it on the refs. BUT, if i looked at the business side....i couldn't blame the league for favoring an already established fan base over a fan base who barely comes to home games. I am sure that they will get more money from the Pistons than from the Magic. Just saying, they are a more established fan base, even if the team is boring. With all do respect... That is the lamest excuse (for what we all witnessed in this series) I have ever heard. Going with your logic, and you said it, since Detroit has "a more established fan base" and you are "sure that they will get more money from the Pistons than from the Magic" that the officials should just hand them the game. That is just crazy. "Here, lets drug all the dogs on the track because we all know Old Blue is a fan favorite. Even though he's 100 in dog years". Whatever! That's BS!

New Proof Why Arroyo doesnt play much.

  21. Pleased? Totally! We have definitely stepped up. Satisfied? No! Not until Detroit is left contemplating firing their head coach and re-building their team after we take them in this round. Then and only then will I be truly satisfied. Still, I am so amped that our boys and coach have made to this awesome level. GO MAGIC!
  22. quote: Originally posted by Knappy:There has been no discussion on Arroyo for about a week. Come on - he should be starting - if not in front of Jameer then he should at least split minutes with Hedo, Rashard or Dwight. Just kidding - couldn't resist bringing up an Arroyo thread - if he leaves I'll kind of miss the talk ... Arroyo is better, he needs to start, Nelson sucks, etc. but I'll probably get over it. I don't know if Arroyo will end up staying or not. Anyway, just playing here - I haven't been on the boards for a while and I needed to get a little action on these boards. And, really I think Arroyo is ok - he can probably get a decent contract in this league. I liken him to a Keith Bogans - he is what he is - he can contribute, but he doesn't do a whole lot for me. Knappy, welcome back! I've missed you. Did ya notice that we aren't arguing about Jameer and Carlos? Paleeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaase don't get it going again. But, welcome back...
  23. Magic in 6! The Pistons will be making coaching and roster changes this summer.

Who is Jameer gonna guard? Det./Orl. Match-up thread

Alright.... I just have to put my 2 cents in here. All this talk about guard match-ups and etc that I'm reading really has me thinking. Consider this: Attitude: Detroit cannot possible stop Dwight, Rashard and Hedo on the floor at the same time. They may have a couple of good stretches, but no way they shut these 3 down permanently. That said, Billups cannot guard Jameer at all when he pushes the ball with quick dribble penetration. No way! And what is Detroits answer for Evans and Bogans. If our Magic boys utilize their skills and own the court with that attitude I absolutely believe they will dominate and win this series and Detroit will be making roster changes this summer. No, I'm not dillusional and even though I am a HOMER, I believe that I am right. lol.. had to add that. But seriously, why should they give any respect to the Pistons at all? The only respect that should be offered is the understanding of what each of the Pistons are capable of and working to shut them down. We have the #1 center in this league. We have the most versitile front court in this league. Bottom line...... The Magic need to take it to the Pistons (big time) and make them defend what we throw at them. The best thing we can do is attack them relentlessly and drive them into the floor. I know we can do it, because we have done it all season long! Billups cannot run continually with Jameer. No-one there can shut down Dwight. No-one there cant shut down Rashard or Turk for that matter. Quite frankly.. I think that Dooling can guard Hamilton well enough to keep him honest and not allow him to go off for 30-35 pts every game. I am tired of hearing oooo, the Pistons this and oooo, the Pistons that. They have more experience but we are younger, stronger and more talented. GO MAGIC!

NEXT 2 GAMES WE WILL GET IT. If you really believe all that BS you spout, I cant help but laugh. Foul calls and non-calls were in your favor all night. The last drive by the Magic was no exception. Especially given that Calderon grabbed Jammeers shirt on the very last possesion and didn't get called. Beotch! Now, when we get to Toronto, you'll find out there that we are just as good in your building as we are here. You have nothing. Nothing. A tall skinny kid with fake dreds won't win this series. Your guards are scrubs. Your centers are jokes and your forwards aren't worthy to wipe our butts. Your head coach sucks too. Wanna keep talkin sh@t???? You better have the @ss to back it up! Oh.... That's right. You don't. So why you talkin anyway? Oh yeah, you have Kapono. That should be enough to win in the NBA finals right? hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
