What a game from Payton, he was robbed of a few assists because our guys got fouled, he must have had 10+ today for sure. Gordon looked better too, these guys will definitely be more than alright. With Payton on the team, it looked a bit out of place to see Vic with the ball so much, I thought he should let Payton handle the ball more. Payton will definitely be up there in ROY race, because he will be in highlights all the time. Either making passes, dunking, or just for rocking that hairstyle. Cant wait for preaseason games to start, definitely excited to see our guys play some more.

Funny stuff, good times. :)

For sure, was just reading article on Magic website and I think we can see some first hand examples of how FG/3PT% can improve:
-
I thought it was obvious I was joking, by predicting player's career based on his sumer league performance. I think Eskobar and junkie got into your head. :)
-
He might as well give up basketball, no player has ever increased their fg % after playing few games in summer league.
-
I think with Frye on our team we'll see the Utah Jazz type of offense when they still had Okur. Very athletic team with lots of cutters and big man 3point thread to keep the middle clear.

Moving ahead, Gordon will be a "3" (SF)

To the contrary of being a 4, where they would have to guard him if he was out on a three point line? Can you try to troll less ? -
Heres one stat for you eskobar http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/rpm/_/sort/RPM Say what you want but Frye has very positive impact on team he plays for. Sadly your boys arent anywhere on this list, so you will probably consider it useless.

Predicting the rest of the season
random replied to blueandwhiteunite's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Things are looking even better lately. Updated rankings by Hollinger: Magic get 8 spot in east: 41W - 41 L Making playoffs: 71% http://espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/playoffodds -
You can watch live open practice of our team today on http://www.nba.com/live1/ I think it just started, but not sure. Oops actually I think it just ended. :|

There are things that JJ cant do, but one thing you can count on every night is that he will not quit. He is not a quitter like some other players. I think we can all agree that not playing 48 minutes of good basketaball was a big problem for our team last year. He might not be the fastest or the strongest or the biggest player on the court, but we can count on him bringing it every single night. I think having him as a starter could provide a confidence boost to all teammates.

Dwight says his preference is to stay with the Magic and 'start his own path'
random replied to ShefGator2's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Not sure what you are trying to say, that Otis should set up contracts so we start from 0 in 4 years when Dwight's contact will be up if he signs extension now? Cause thats alot of years, we'll have to start setting things up next year probably already. Anyway, I think this year will be Otis'es last chance to make some changes. And if results wont be there by the end of season they should look into bringing in new GM. -

Agreed, if Dwight signs the extension it means we are doing something wrong. Wait what? -
I like how the writer says we need a "pure" point guard but doesnt actually give any names at all. That's right we have been over this a million times, there is noone who could really upgrade our pg spot significantly besides CP3/Deron/Rose which we are not getting so might as well stop posting this. But please post some upgrades and how we can get them, looking forward to it.

If there is a chance that we can get someone like Melo, you can be sure Otis will look and is looking into it. Not saying there is a chance, but it's stupid to say we are not gonna make another trade because we made one already.

For the guys who 'stress' when J.N. is called "Too Small"
random replied to ball junkie's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Main thing I could get from this article is that guys complement each other. That's why we got Gil, to have another option when things call for it, like a few bigger PG's. GO MAGIC!!! GO GILBERT!!!! -
He said he could be back for Sunday game.

Wizards won with Ice-O leading the way with 18pts 11reb performance against Celtics. Glad to see him playing well.

Official Game Thread: Orlando Magic at Dallas Mavericks
random replied to TrueMagicFan07's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
It's all about the balance of ball handlers we have now in Jameer, Gil and Hedo and other Magic players not about just 1 guy. Pretty awesome performance by Hedo though, here's to our guys keeping up with it! Go Magic! -
Who's the odd man out to get a "BIG" (link)
random replied to ball junkie's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
I think we need Arenas to play full season before even thinking of possiblity to move Nelson for another big. If he gets injured (which is not unlikely considering his past) after we do a trade, we'll have Duhon/Williams as our PGs, you really think that will do it? Also what effect would it have on Howard? You can see him being happy with Hedo being back, but trading his buddy Jameer, I think you are putting a big IF on his contract extension. -
ty magic for making this christmas even better! happy holidays guys!

Something Looks Really Good About This Team ...
random replied to Arielle's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Difference being we have DPOY and are one of the best if not the best defensive team in the league. I dont think Dallas ever did as good in any defensive categories. I could be wrong, just going by memory. -
Very exciting news that was never written about before and has some good quotes to go with it! Thanks for posting!

SVG said in some interview that he will try out all kinds of lineups through the season, unlike in previous seasons, when he waited till playoffs to try out our big lineup for example, and then noone was really comfortable. This year he will make sure players will be ready and have some chemistry in all kinds of line ups. I like it.

quote: Originally posted by IronMaiden: quote: Originally posted by Chase: The most the Lakers could pay Barnes next season is $1.77 million, about half of what Cleveland was offering, and Barnes has a player option in 2011-12 for almost $2 million that would allow him to test the market again in a year if he wished. WTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe he actually does wanna win, and the Magic didn't offer him a contract so the best place for him was in LA? The fact of the matter is that Otis wasn't going to get him back, so you would have either hated him for going to a loser team and a fat contract or in this case, a championship team for less money. When I said "it's funny how fast a pro athlete can go from hero to villain" I meant he's a villain now only because he plays for the Los Angeles Lakers. One of the few teams that can stop us from winning the title, and one of the teams that we played against where Matt displayed how valuable he could be to our team. Otherwise, I don't harbor a grudge at all. This is a business after all, and Orlando and Barnes just went their seperate ways. Are you forgetting that Magic actually signed him for 2 years and he was gonna get about 2mil this year but he opted out of the contract?
