I agree on everything except Kyrie. The bad choice was to trade for him first of all, so I understand that now they were somehow forced to resign him. But IMO that pairing is terrible, and it's a lot of season that Irving provides more problems than solutions.

Well, they probably consider that the job for the new season is already done, so Parker is going to have time until 15th december and then the deadaline. I hated him as a player when he was playing in Euroleague cause he always killed my team, but he was a really samrt guy. Hope he's as smart in the new role, he has probably showed that considering how fast was his rising. WeltPark or SouthPark? :P

I agree that max contracts should be given on a different basis, but unfortunately is a few season that NBA doesn't work that way. Franz will get it unless something strange happens (like accepting a little less cause he loves Orlando and the trust FO showed on him... but his agent isn't going to agree :P) and management couldn't risk an unhappy guy requiring a trade later.

Absolutely. In a previous post, I was considering that sitting FA has been the best thing to do in recent years, there've been a lot of crazy deals that teams will regret, but seems like everyone need to overpay to sign players in that part of the season. I definitely consider the deadline and draft night better moments to make moves.

Respect that opinion, but for me those are missed opportunities. Even if the fact that have less value now is true right now (and I'm not convinced about that), we missed the same situations multiple time in the past. It's not like they've adapted to the market this summer, that's what they've done in multiple seasons. In the bold, another key part is "still figuring what they have". We don't know yet, so not adding enough assets could easily bite us in the future.

The point of having cap space available for other teams in trades is exactly the fact you don't have to trade able contracts, actually. I doubt a overpaid Mo is going to give us more levarage than the space itself. Feels to me like we've missed a lot of opportunities that way, and we'll miss more in the future.

That's the part of the FO I really dislike. Filling the money to spend that way instead of using that cap space for obtain even more assets. There will be a point in which the right great player for us will become available, and we'll regret not having enough assets to beat other team offers.

I could understand that at every deadline there’s a little deception with the lack of big moves, but after FO doubled on their strategy on draft day (adding two young rookies when there were doubts about having so many young players in the roster) hoping for a big name now was honestly quite an illusion. I’ve been sometimes critical of the path chosen by the FO (not sure we’ve enough TOP talent to build with that “wait and see” tactic), but at least they’re consistent in what they do, and that last move is in line with that. I actually would like them to be more active in other periods of the year, but in recent season skipping the FA period is actually a good decision, everytime we see a lot of crazy money spent that teams will regret. Market has been like that for free agents recently, so stay quiet is actually a positive in my mind. Ingles is a smart addition that check a few boxes. There’re also concerns for age and recent injury, but with the kind of contract we signed him, there’s absolutely no risk, so I’ll consider it a positive FA move by management. Looking forward to eventual extensions and other decisions.

Secretism at his best. We're almost the only ones that have no reference to the amount of the deal! :P

That depend on what you were expecting. It's not really a surprise IMO, we had cap space a lot of times, and FO prefer to use it on short deals than helping trades of other teams and get assets in the process. Ingles is actually a "bigger" name that I was expecting, and even if he's a little too old and his game in decline, he could be the kind of veteran we were talking about in the past.

I was making the same assumption, but CT rightly noted that Ingles is more a 3/4 now, getting older he had to play more forward! :P Could be an option, a lot of PF minutes were played by Bol and Mo last season.

If Ingles is confirmed, I doubt we'll make other (big) moves anyway.

Too much and too many years for the bet we were talking about, glad we didn't make that move.

Well, sorry for the bad wording, surely is not a PG, but I was meaning our 2/3 rotation, that is suddenly really crowded. I know him really well actually, watched him live a lot of times when he was playing in Barcelona (2010/13).

I like Ingles, even if 35 and a little too late. But we talked about minutes in the guard rotation... now the battle is going to be even harder.

Do you really know him or you like him just because of international flavour? Cause he's quite a temperamental coach (to be gentle) and IMO a terrible fit in an assistant role. He could create chaos in the locker room!

Yeah, that was the point, we always seem to avoid "bad guys", and the gun thing it's even worst than bad character.

What a surprise. They also waived Malik Beasley, that made a lot of 3's last season, but I doubt FO will be interested. EDIT: I was a little to late on Beasley.

I don't dislike him, but he could be the archetype we talked in the past of overpaying a player after a good playoff run. A player that was into the right system and maybe overachieved even more for that. Could be good at a fair price, but could also became a bad contract easily if offered too much.

Did we used his skills properly in Orlando? If so, the most we obtained is elimination in the first round of playoffs with only one W in those series (when things were going for the better, before we were just a even worst team) Maybe the problem is the player, not the environment. Gordon was traded, he adapted to the new situation and become a key player for winning it all. Vuc never changed here, great stat numbers with no def and no leadership. Don't know in CHI, but seeing their results, seem to be always the same.
