With his mid-range game and frame Bass has the potential to be THE traditional 4 that gives Dwight the help he needs on the boards and the ability to rotate to Dwights man when Dwight goes for the block as a help defender. He seemed like a soft spoken guy with very little ego. Now however, I am starting to lean toward the dude just being dumb. When he did get time in the playoffs last year he looked completely lost on offense and had no idea what rotations to make on defense. Moving forward to the 10-11 season we have a guy who has all the physical gifts and athletic abilities we need in a guy who can be a key for us off the bench against bigger lineups. Bass of all our bigs can benefit the most from Patrick Ewing. I think his offensive game is best suited to being a smaller Ewing. He really needs Ewing or ANY assistant to take him under their wing and teach him the system. I do still see Brandon Bass as being a very good player for us off the bench as long as someone can get him in tune with the team. Also I would like to see him become an enforcer. When teams are coming hard at Dwight we send Bass in and let him draw a few rough fouls against the opposing bigs that are hammering Dwight. We have to protect our Franchise guy and I think that is something Bass can bring to the table. Imagine if Dwight was a wing player and got hammered like he does?!? If anyone else took some of the hits Dwight takes on a nightly basis they would be out more games then they played every year. So Bandon, beg a coach to take you under their wing, look to Patrick Ewing first. Learn the Magics system and when given the opportunity show everyone why you deserve minutes. Again Gortat being gone will greatly benefit Bass just as much as RA. Bass should see some time at Center I would think depending on match ups. Daniel Orton is only 6'8 granted he has a huge wingspan but he will be our backup center so I can see Bass getting minutes at the 5 as well with Gortat gone. Good job. +1
  2. Not bad thread. Nothing really going on.

He is also reading the speculation of a possible move from James and Bosh to Miami. Don't get astonished if he trades Carter for a future draft pick and use Gortat, Bass and trade exception to splash a great, all star players, like Boozer or two good players like Rudy Gay and Josh Smith. Carter would be a great fit for at least half NBA teams with cap space for just one year contract and for who wants to sell more tickets! Just like Otis always says: " It's all about winning a championship" [Great players like Malone that 'prefer to stay' did not get a ring, because when he tried, was already to late] and Memphis wants to do a ST with Magic for R.Gay - Why? They have Gasol and young prospects Thabeet/Hadidi at Center and Z.Randolph at PF already so why do they want Gortat? If they are trying to cut salary by taking on VC's contract for a year - why not just let Gay walk and try to get a younger cheaper prospect - why pay 18 million for a 1 yr old man rental? Only thing I can possibly see that they might want is a trade including Jameer because they dont think that OJ Mayo/M. Conley are in their future - and if so then is losing your franchise player's best friend/all star PG/team captain worth Rudy Gay who can score but is notoriously slack on defense... Thabeet is horrible

We could get good player at the trade deadline, so why would Otis even consider picks.

Magic going in for Chris Paul

Shooting guard Vince Carter, reserve center Marcin Gortat and back-up small forward Mickael Pietrus have been among the names mentioned in trade scuttlebutt. "I hope we can get all our pieces back, but you never know," Barnes said. Barnes told the Sentinel he also would be open to coming off the bench if the Magic make a trade for a power forward, a move that might shift Rashard Lewis back to his natural position at small forward. why don't you ever like to post links with your quotes? You can tell that Barnes really wants to stay here. I think his main priority is the length of contract, rather the dollar amount. Sure money is great, but for someone who's traveled from city to city, team to team, I think he just wants a good 3-4 yr contract to finally have some piece of mind. I hope we keep him. I think it money because he never got a money contract

Arenas trade hinges on Howard OK.

EDIT: He then suggested that some combination of Vince/Gortat/Pietrus/Bass would be used to get a new PF. I really hope that you're lying or that rumor you heard is nothing more than pure garbage, because trading away Lewis and Nelson, especially for Arenas and Granger is absolutely horrible. Kidding right? I love Nelson but a healthy Arenas is better version of Nelson. I doubt Arenas could stay healthy but Granger is absolutely better than Lewis. I doubt this would ever happen. It makes no sense for Pacers or Wizards.

LeBron and Bosh to bulls a "done deal"

I actually believe the opposite of what this guy wrote - I think Jameer Nelson is a perfect championship compliment. We didn't lose because of Jameer. We lost because Dwight Howard doesn't have a consistent enough offensive game, and we didn't have anyone on the floor that could create their own shot. They all sit around waiting for Dwight to draw a double team so that they can get a wide open trey. Points 3 and 4 are why we lost to Boston (and LA the season before), not 1 and 2. +1

Magic going in for Chris Paul

I can't wait for the big moves to start already, I want to see what our roster will look like compared to the competition for this season. That is probably why the rumor died out.
