I believe that a fast start is so very important. If we come out flat and get down by 12 or 14 points early, then that will increase the pressure and guys may start pressing and force the issue too much. Paolo may start doing too much and could start turning the ball over frequently. However, if we start fast then the crowd will get involved and Cleveland may call it a night and settle for a game 7 back at their place. Shaq said last night that he thinks the Magic will win the series in 7 games. Barkley kind of feels the same way. Kenny Smith was the only one to pick the Cavs to win the series. He thinks Mitchell and Garland will be too much for the younger Magic team to handle.

Nice post, Time2GetSerious. Very good points.

I would have given you the 'heart' vote symbol (for love your post), but my tablet won't allow me to insert it.

This might be a hot take, but I don’t think Allen being out for them helped us at all. Even tho he was putting up monster numbers it was at the detriment of better players. Mobley at the 5 really hurt us, especially with how late the news came in and so little time to adjust.

The situation you’re referring to at the end of the game with Isaac guarding Mitchell I believe is because of the Harris injury. We’ve consistently played Harris and Suggs on Garland and Mitchell all series, and Gary couldn’t play in the 2nd half. His shot has been way off this series, but his defense has been really good and if he can’t go tomorrow I’ll be curious to see how we respond.

No matter what the situation is or reason to have JI guard mitchell or Garland, its's too risky. Luke_FfS just now mentioned the risk, and I alluded to it in a previous series. Mitchell and Garland are just too quick. JI could injure his knee due to their ability to quickly change direction at the drop of a dime.

Also, l still don't understand why coach won't give Goga significant minutes at the center position for rim protection and muscle. Let him use his minutes to bang whatever center the Cavs use. Even if Goga fouls out.  :D

It’s the second most unstoppable shot (next to Kareem’s Sky Hook of course) that guys like Jordan, Kobe, and Dirk perfected.  Paolo is really good at it in the post.  He will get better as he is 21 years old.  I also want to say he is a Power Forward not a guard  and there aren’t many in NBA history that pass and have a handle as good as Paolos.  He just needs a PG or another ball handler so he doesn’t have to do everything on the court himself.  It would be nice if he could be set up sometimes.  Franz is the only other real creator that currently does this to make his life easier.

Paolo is averaging 25 pts 48.5 FG% and 38 3P% in his first Playoffs at 21 years old…………he is so far ahead of where he should be at his age………..get him some help this summer……..

    GO MAGIC!

    Thanks for sharing, MagicMan.

  4. Thanks, Jamesdin. So the shot I tried to describe that is attempted by Paolo, you mentioned that it is called the "fade away". Awesome! I was hoping someone else had noticed that failed shot by Paolo that needs to be fixed.

I'm giving you a plus (+). I wanted to give you an up vote but my cell phone want let me post it.

You are a perfect example, Jamesdin, that if you are knowledgeable or aware of something a fellow Magic fan is trying to describe, say something.  :D

  5. Hello, my fellow Magic fans. This evening I arrived at my vacation home in Maryland.

I watched the game back in Florida Tues. Night. So, while everyone else is piling up on Paolo, I thought I would post my observations (2 cents) as well.   :D

As most have pointed out, his stats show that Paolo accomplished a lot for only his second year in the nba. But one of the shots he attempts that's not successful is when he pulls up, does a one-leg jump shot while falling backwards . (He jumps on one leg, falling backwards while shooting the ball.) Didn't Aaron Gordon use to do that?

It took me all night to type this on my cell phone. I boxed my 12-inch tablet and my portable hand-held mobile hotspot device and had them shipped to me here in Maryland to watch the games. Verizon charges too much to use the Internet for the one month I'm here.

So, I'm what you would call a ''real fan'. Right, Jay?  :D

Another observation is when Paolo gets sloppy with his dribbling. Sometimes he extends his arm out--while dribbling-- just enough for the ball to get stripped out of his hand. In the sport of football, it's like when a running back holds the football like a loaf of bread and the football gets stripped.

    GO MAGIC!!!

When we D up like that we can beat anybody! I've watched basketball for over 50 years and the D we put out in the 3rd was top 10 of all time for me. Absolutely smothering!

The look on Donovan's face was priceless after experiencing the Magic's smothering defense in the 3rd quarter through the end of the 4th.  The look on his face was like:
