We were out coached last night, folks. . .We were out coached! The bench actually got the lead up to about 7 pts. in the second quarter, and when the starters came back in, that's when we lost the lead. We never saw the core of bench players that got us the lead again.

It isn't that he defers to Hedo because of his unselfish demeanor, it's because he DOES NOT want the ball in crunch time. It almost seemed as if he was afraid to receive the ball in the post within the closing minutes, and it showed. He produced a few turnovers and some terrible shot attempts. Wow, ThisIsTheYear, my brother use to call me many times during the season and said the same thing. I would ask him why would Dwight not want the ball or be in the game (4th quarter)? His (my brother's) explanation was the same as yours.

Who is working with Dwight?. . .as if I didn't know.

Okay, gporter, let me clarify what I was trying to say. . . Yes, Dwight does defend the paint well, depending on the team and matchups... But in some instances, when Dwight's head is not in the game, he will go up to grab an offensive rebound with 3 or more on the opposing team right there under the basket trying to grab the rebound. In this instance, Dwight loses the ball. On the other hand, Gortat, in the same situation, slaps the ball back out to his teammates.

Many of you have complained that Dwight doesn't get enough touches. But I don't see it. When he turns the ball over as much as he did tonight, he doesn't need to get a lot of touches. As Magicfanagain and PEC said, Dwight has gone back to his old habits of not throwing the ball out of a double or triple team. He had started to improve in that area, but now he has gone back to his old habits (getting stripped of the ball). I don't think Dwight is above being benched when he is making these kinds of turnovers. Edit: Stan just mentioned the same thing I said about Boston comes to play every night.

Why don't the Magic play hard EVERY game like the Lakers, Celtics, and the Lebrons do? Sometimes it seems like they have been engaged in some kind of activity before games that make them look lethargic.

The Magic (58-20) are two wins away from the most wins in team history, but coach Stan Van Gundy is looking ahead to the playoffs, and he doesn't like what he has been seeing. "Our offense has been bad. We're just not playing well offensively," Van Gundy said. "I'm not faulting our effort or desire, but offensively we're playing the game poorly." The Magic have broken 100 points just once in the last five games, and that was against Cleveland. The Magic still are trying to overtake the Boston Celtics for the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference, but they are running out of time. They remain one game behind the Celtics. At stake is home-court advantage in a potential second-round matchup. "If you're going to play somebody like Boston, you want every advantage you can get," Van Gundy said. "We're still going to keep fighting for it. We pretty much have to win out, and hope they lose a couple." The Magic, playing on the second half of a back-to-back, overcame a horrid performance to beat the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday after losing a better-played game on Tuesday in Houston. The Magic and Celtics (59-19) each have four games remaining in the race. The difference is that the Magic have four against teams with losing records. The Celtics still must play the Cavs, Heat and 76ers. The Celtics, by virtue of the better conference record, do have the tiebreaker against the Magic because they split their four regular season meetings. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *TRY THIS LINK FOR FUN* (It is not a link to the game) (Click Here)>>>A Magical - One Moment In Time

    ESPN: "Fear the Magic"

The article, "Fear the Magic" was posted in ESPN's Daily Dime. Actually, there were 2 articles. 1. "Playoff Warning: Don't Sleep on the Magic and the Heat" by J. A. Adande quote: Orlando and Miami remain the two teams to watch in the Eastern Conference playoffs, even if they both lost on Tuesday night. Those were two Western Conference teams they lost to, two teams they just couldn't beat this season. Orlando lost at Houston, Miami fell to New Orleans in overtime at home. We learned more about seedings than matchups Tuesday night. Come playoff time, the Magic and Heat won't have to face the Rockets and the Hornets. They'll be safely ensconced in the Eastern Conference, where they are threats, not threatened. No Yao Mings or Chris Pauls on that side of the Mississippi River. Why can't Orlando come out of the East? They're 2-2 against Boston, 2-1 against Cleveland. It's not the most likely scenario, but it's not impossible. With Dwight Howard they'll have the best center in either series if they want to play conventionally. If they want to take the unorthodox way to a championship -- the outside way -- they have made more 3-pointers than every team in the league except the Knicks. 2. "Seven Reasons to FEAR THE MAGIC" by Kevin Arnovitz. quote: I've heard the rap on the Orlando Magic. They're essentially a jump-shooting team. They don't hit the offensive glass, and don't have a go-to guy on the wing who can manufacture points in crunch time. In short, the Magic just don't seem like a championship contender in the eyes of their doubters. How do you gauge what constitutes a contender? As Justice Potter Stewart said of obscenity, you know it when you see it. quote: Amid the noise, we perused the schedule and found that the Magic had tough back-to-back games over the weekend: A Friday night showdown with Cleveland in Orlando, followed up by a road date against a tough home team in Atlanta, where the Hawks were 29-9 going in. The results were impressive. The Magic decimated the Cavs, leading by 40 at one juncture in the third quarter. The following night in Atlanta was a bit more of a struggle. Despite the fact that this jump-shooting team missed a slew of open looks, they managed to grind out a win with a heady defensive effort and second-chance points. I posted just a portion of these 2 articles. Here is the link if you are interested in reading more. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/...ime?page=dime-090408

April 3rd Gamethread: Cavs @ Magic

I found this in Yahoo Sports. It's by a Cavs blogger. quote: Article by CavsBlogger Streak Over - Wizards beat Cavs in D.C., again The Wizards took advantage of the same vulnerability that has plagued the Cavaliers in the past . . .got anything they wanted inside. Overall it is what it is for the Cavaliers. They still have the best record in the NBA, though that distinction is in a bit of trouble with a trip to Orlando on tap for tomorrow. Until then, file this game where it deserves to be filed and move on. The Magic await! http://www.fearthesword.com/20...wizards-beat-cavs-in
