2018 Watch the Playoffs thread

Oladipo was trying to do too much tonight, trying to play hero ball. Most importantly, too many turnovers. He was chucking too many three pointers and missing. -

Let me tell you something. You see, if LeBron was not a basketball player, but was doing good things for his community or people in general, you could care less about him, especially being a role model. -

If LeBron James was not a basketball player (or played any sport), but say, , ,the male version of Oprah Winfrey. Would you be giving him this much attention and praise with talks about him being a good role model? -

A few years ago, LeBron said that he wanted to be the first billionaire athlete--not the first billionaire athlete/humanitarian. What role model talks about making that much money. You show by example. -

Oh, P-L-E-A-SE! I would say that Steve Harvey or Tyler Perry would be more of role models for black kids. LeBron has never been homeless. Both Tyler Perry and Steve Harvey have been HOMELESS and worked their way out of it, including giving and sponsoring organizations to help young people to be successful. -

My favorite, Magic Johnson, was showtime. He also did a lot of charitable work. Magic and Bird went at it on the court. -

1. No 2. It's not about not shaking hands It's about LeBron's brand. It's more about show-me-the money than showmanship (Donald Trump says hi!) And, yes, I am a proud black woman. -

That's not nice ML6. ~O~ is expressing the way he feels. Who are you to judge someone the way you did on a message board. You don't know him. -

It's not about him shaking hands, it's his pouty attitude. And even if the Cavs weren't going to win, walking off the court and down into the tunnel before the game is over. . . ? -

I hope the pacers do to the Cavs what we did to them in '09 on our way to the finals. -

The Teams I want to win the first round series - 1. Warriors vs Spurs (Warriors) 2. Wizards vs Raptors (Raptors) 3. Pelicans vs Blazers (Pelicans) 4. Pacers vs Cavs (Pacers) 5. Jazz vs Thunder (Jazz) 6. Wolves vs Rockets (Wolves) Reason #3 - Anthony Davis - He has carried his team without Cousins. I would like to see him match up (with Rockets pf/center, Clint Capela) #3 - Damian Lillard (Blazers) - tries to imitate Russell Westbrook in his play and body language/style of dress. #5 - Rudy Gobert - I love this guy. I think he is the best center in the NBA. I wish he was on the Magic team. -

I was thinking the same thing. It is driving me crazy. I know, I can put the sound on mute. I was wondering why they would allow him to be a commentator with a raspy voice like that. I thought Paul Pierce was annoying, but his voice is nowhere close to Carlesimo. -
Which One Play Ruined A Game Or Season For The Magic

I was never a fan of Jameer. Sure, he was good at driving the paint for layups, alley-oops to Dwight, and he could make 3 pt. shots. Not only was he a black hole on defense, but he drove me crazy walking the ball up the court, allowing the opponent to set up their defense. A certain person would call me during a game complaining about the same thing. When Steve Francis played for the Magic (before leaving), wasn't Jameer a shooting guard and Francis the starting point guard? -
Which One Play Ruined A Game Or Season For The Magic

Is there ONE play--recently or in the past--you will never forget--that caused the Magic to lose an important game during the regular season or in a playoffs. For me it was the 2008-2009 Playoffs Finals (Magic vs Lakers). I forget which game it was, but Rafer Alston had been the starting point guard for a while during the regular season, including the first 3 rounds of the playoffs and the first 4 games of the finals replacing Jameer Nelson who was injured . We could have won the game, except for the fact that Stan VanGundy allowed Jameer to play in that game (Jameer had not played in a while). The Magic was ahead in the final seconds when the Lakers rebounded the ball off of a missed shot by the Magic. Jameer was the only one back near half court for the Magic. Derek Fisher pushed the ball down court, and threw up a 3 pt.(?) shot near to where Jameer was standing, and that won the game for the Lakers. Jameer did not try to challenge the shot. The Lakers won the NBA championship. Link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_NBA_Finals -

I am pulling for the Raptors to beat the Wizards and the Cavs. I can't stand Gortat since he became a Wizard. If the Warriors and Raptors meet in the finals, I believe the Warriors can win it all. I was worried about Golden state toward the end of the regular season because they lost so many games. As they say, a very good team can turn it up in the post season, and that is why I fear the Cavs will win the east. -

The Warriors is my second favorite team. I love how they came along after years of struggling. They won a playoff before Durant joined the team. I have always liked Durant, even when he played with the Thunder, but I didn't like the Thunder because of u-know-who--couldn't stand him. -

This is the winner (along with Rock Legends and others). Now that you mention it--and 4thewin produced a video--I remember Jameer with his hand in the air reaching. He could not get up high enough to defend the shot. I also remember him spinning around flat-footed with an arm(s) in the air after Fisher made the 3 pt jump shot watching the shot go in. He was too short to defend the shot. :) -
