  1. quote: We already know Carlos Arroyo is the best point guard in the world. Could you go argue it to the Heat fans now? I've heard it enough. If yo go to our boards you will see a post, Arroyo apreciation thread, which was posted by one of his former oposers in the board. They apperciate Arroyo and our participation
  2. quote: We might want another point guard because it is usually a good idea to have more than one of them. You know, so that when one of them gets tired the other one can play. I didn't think I would have to explain this to a man that has only followed the career of a backup point guard for the past 10 years. You seem really confident that Arroyo is in Miami to stay. I've got 5 bucks that says he gets dumped the first chance Miami gets to upgrade the position. He is a filler. Nothing more. A patch job until an actual starting point guard can be acquired. The only reason Arroyo was even signed was because the Heat were sporting the spectacular duo of Chalmers and the Travis Diener rip-off. Its reasonabel the heat should star looking for a new PG for long term since Arroyo is 32 but if they are stupid enough to make the same mistake the Magic did by letting go one of their most popular player in bringing people in, Arroyo will get plenty of offers from other teams. Any way lets see howour teams do in the plyoffs when we meet.
  3. quote: he wouldn't even play ahead of JWill. JWill is playing better than jameer also and he is in th ebench because of Otis ****head contract and Mr. Yeller (Stan)gutless ways to Otis.

  5. quote: How about this for the truth, Pablo.....Jameer Nelson was named to the All Star team last year while Arroyo was playing in Israel. But hey, now he's starting for the same team that started MARIO CHALMERS at PG, so he must be good. I dare you to name me one team that Senor Arroyo would start for other than Miami. quote: How about this for the truth, Pablo.....Jameer Nelson was named to the All Star team last year while Arroyo was playing in Israel. How about Orlando and Knicks. Yes it was his best year but it was Skip the one that Arroyo demoted to the bench who got Orlando to the finals. By th eway see whom they use to promo the next world basket tournament I dont see jameer, or Kidd or Williams.

  7. quote: Please go away...again. I will be back when we meet again. It will be your worst nightmare.
  8. quote: Originally posted by Jareth Cutestory:I think you take the BPA period in this draft. 1-30 is full of solid players, with the PG crop being the weakest of the bunch. If a guy like Willie Warren (combo guard), Kyler Singler, James Anderson, Daniel Orton, or Gani Lawal are available like some mocks suggest, then I think you have to take one of those guys. I am of the opinion that we can find a good prospect at PG in the 2nd, with guys like Collins, Vasquez, Dyson being available. I thought when jameer was signed the issue of PG was over. There are plenty of back up PG's in the league that can back up and bench Jameer, Why not unload jameer if you can get some team to have him. Thi year is th elast opportunity this team will hava a cahnce at the ring but...I think even Superman cant pull that one off.LOL
  9. You are skirting the issue with arrogance and intolerance which is the way ignorance is reflected. Th issue here is Jameer and yes even Anthony the grandpa plays better than the midget.
  10. quote: Originally posted by Jareth Cutestory: quote: Originally posted by ibonedteribell: quote: At no time has he averaged 8-10 assists per game. How about the last 10 games he has started? Remeber h ewas getting 8 mins/game before Skip skipped away. Are you asking me? If you are, then the answer is still no. Missed by a couple, 8.7 PPG
  11. quote: honestly feel Anthony Johnson is better than Arroyo. That could be debatable but the issue here has always been Arroyo vs Jameer
  12. quote: At no time has he averaged 8-10 assists per game. How about the last 10 games he has started? Remeber h ewas getting 8 mins/game before Skip skipped away.
  13. quote: Also, you're an fool. Jareth, you are the one that is acting foolish by digging your head into the sand like an Ostrich who sees the Lion coming.LOL Arroyo creates team play and has led the team to win without Wades high scoring games, whic usually doesnt happen when Baby Huey has his tantrums with the Refs. Arroyo is the second best ball protector in the league (TO/Assit ratio), he is know averaging 8 assist/game and 8-10PPG. Thats aobut 36 ppg for the team.
  14. quote: That's funny. He managed to beat out Arroyo for the starting position...something that Carlos never challenged. He also made the allstar team...something that Carlos never came close to doing. He probably would have won the most improved player last year if he hadn't gotten injured. I'm glad that Carlos has played well recently. I always liked him. I also find it hilarious that his fanatical fans are clinging to the fact that he is starting on the only team in the league he could start for....and on a team where the true point guard is Dwayne Wade. You're better off sticking to talking trash about a Olympic victory that occured 6 years ago. quote: That's funny. You're better off sticking to talking trash about a Olympic victory that occured 6 years ago. Dejavu, It was an obvious fact that divided this board 2 years ago, the lack of consensus about the signing of Jameeer at a time Arroyo was a better bet for winning with this team. We all kknow Jameer was signed to keep his buddy Howard from going into a a Baby Huey tantrum. Last year Mr. Darwin extensively showed that the team did better with Arroyo as a starter, yet the same crowd turend the subject around to attacking us the blind groupies of Arroyo. In Miami it seemed to be Dejavu again, the management favoring Wade's pick for PG, but...the manager here ha a bit more of independent criteria to accept they were wrong. Lets see some stats posted by a Miami fan and not one of us, Originally posted by Skyhook13: I was doing some research on the Heat and I finally understood why Heat management finaly gave up and gave the point guard position to Arroyo. According to my research is obious why Arroyo is playing. The more time he is in the court the highest probability the Heat will win the game. See by yorself. Carlos Arroyo W L Winning percentage '+ 18 Min 21 12 63.64% '+ 20 Min 18 9 66.67% '+ 25 Min 14 5 73.68% '+ 30 Min 10 4 71.43% '+ 35 Min 9 0 100.00% '+ 40 Min 5 0 100.00% Since 3/02/10 10 3 76.92% As a Starter 16 10 61.54% Mario Chalmers W L Winning percentage '+ 18 Min 26 22 54.17% '+ 20 Min 23 20 53.49% '+ 25 Min 18 16 52.94% '+ 30 Min 10 10 50.00% '+ 35 Min 3 5 37.50% '+ 40 Min 1 1 50.00% Rafer Alston W L Winning percentage '+ 18 Min 11 12 47.83% '+ 20 Min 11 11 50.00% '+ 25 Min 8 8 50.00% '+ 30 Min 3 3 50.00% '+ 35 Min 1 2 33.33% '+ 40 Min 0 0 0.00% Honestly it all goes down to winning! The guy has demonstrated that he can impact the game in ways that can't be seen in the stats sheets. I don't care if this guy doesn't score, guards or makes a whole lots of assists, All I care is that we are winning and heading to the playoffs! BTW he didn't left the team when he was demoted to third string PG like Rafer did. Arroyo has helped Spo the coach get to win the Coach of the month award. Guys you made abig mistake when you let Arroyo go!
  15. quote: You mean dribble until there is 8 seconds left on the shot clock and take an ill advised shot? I know I sure miss it. You apparently have not following what Arroyo is accomplishing this year when he has been given support by both coach and players. He has become one of the most efficient passers by becoming 2nd in TO/assit ratio in the league. I wouldnt be surprised you will be facing him in the finals at some time wher he will have some time to convince you by beating the "sheet" of your team. LOL

If it weren't for egos, would you move VC and Jameer to the bench?

quote: Originally posted by rtillaree:egos mean nothing to me and honestly I'd like to move both of them a whole lot further than the bench... Yikes!!! How about including Van Gundy and Otis in the move, since they are resposible for what they have now.

What position do we suck at the most?

< quote: PG - Nelson can't make plays for teammates, holds the ball too long, not running and moving without the ball, can't defend, and just too small. Now this deficiencies were discussed amply here 3 years ago when Otis was planning to sign his contract and many of the board were blindly for this. Every PG that has backed him has outplayed him with less costly salaries. When is Otis going to bite the bullet, he already has Howard and doesnt have to please him until free agency.

Is Dwight just another modern day athlete?

The factor is professionalism and pride in mantaining effort in improving, while handling all the tempataions that will arise with losts of money. If he lays back on his athleticism and fails to develop his offensive loopholes he will just be good center but never a great one. He seems to have become very inconsistent lately.
  19. quote: Originally posted by Skywise316:Carlos was not HUGE. He had 7 assists because the boy refused to take a shot, he looked scared out there or something. He also had no turnovers for the same reason, zero aggressiveness. I couldn't even bring myself to watch the 4th quarter, first time this season for that for me. How does this Magic team NOT defend harder against a team playing 4-on-5 on offense most of the night, between Joel Anthony and/or Carlos Arroyo 90% of the time?? Freggin' ridiculous, I thought the Utah game was sickening, that doesn't hold a candle to last night's "effort." At least we tried for a quarter and a half against Utah! I'm stunned that the Magic were THAT lackluster, especially after the Miami loss that shouldn't of been a loss. Plus they are kind of our biggest rival throughout the history of the franchise? Division game?? I mean, how much more motivation do you need as a basketball player exactly, other than Boston on Christmas Day? Maybe the Magic have beaten Miami too soundly over the last few years, it's gotten too easy... Take the shoelaces away from SVG today, I honestly felt bad for him last night. The ONLY good thing that happened last night was we tried to get Dwight the ball more than ever. Someone needs to remind Vince and Rashard that they're All Stars? It's really okay if they want to selfish it up just a tad and dominate the ball, make a play? All I know is Dwight and Redick deserve a future practice off, since the other 10 guys all took a Game Night off. [/rant] Sky, this doesnt sound like your usual objective nature. Yes he was careful, after all it was his second start with a non guaranteed contract, but It seems that the coach, Riley and the whole Heat forum (go see the poll) feel he should be the starter from now on. Do you think they have some sort of basketall knowledge? Also he shut down Williams even with his poor defensive efforts! Nice sharing with you again. See you at the finals.

To Everyone Trashing The Magic Right Now

quote: Originally posted by CaliMagicFan:Go **** yourselves. Seriously. This team just overachieved and submitted the best season in franchise history. Everyone's hurting, but really, if you're trashing your team now, get lost. You're not welcome here, and don't deserve the highs that we've experienced this year, and are sure to see in the years to come. Yes,fans should be proud of how the team responded to the challenge and how all the players adapted to the role given them to perform, but they also have the right to vent their frustations by commenting where individual players, the coach and the administration didn't contribute at any individual moment, what we expected, be it wrong or right according to each fans perspective. I think everyone agrees that Stan, handled the PG situation at the end, akwardly, to say the least; and that Skip did his share in not helping mitigate it. We could go on with the lack of offensive contribution of both Lewis and Howard towards the end as a factor that contributed to our loss, etc.. In terms of coaching I have previously commented that Stan is a great rehabilitator of teams anad has the capability to get the best of the players, yet his ability to manage teams during the finals could be questioned? Is this bashing the team?

Activating Jameer "COST" the Magic this series

No matter who is your favorite PG or who was an allstar, does anyone here think, Stan's decision was rational? Why didn't he discipline Howard when he went public to bash his decisions? Skip has been true leader of this team getting every one more involved in its success. That will be the most important factor in the final result of this series and not the individual performance of any specific player.
