    Arroyo Suspended Indefinitely

Dav, its unfair to jump to a conclusion on this issue and claim its the same pattern that happened in Utah. He played for the Pistons and Magic blending well to his role and by the way helping the teams and he has played this European season without a hitch becoming one of the favorites of the crowd. The only clear confrontations that ocurred in Orlando were with our beloved coach Hill which I think had also various issues with many of the players. Lets be more objective and let the emotional trails created by his fans fade away.

    Arroyo Suspended Indefinitely

Cloudy information on what happened but it seems he overstepped his role and steepped on the toes of local players. He has to learn to let the coach do the bashing. I wish for his sake no residual hurt feelings hinder the teamwork necessary to perform at this crucial moment.

    Props to Otis

quote: Originally posted by Knappy:I have to give Otis props for the Rafer Alston trade. I also give props to SVG as I think he definitely played a part. Maybe Otis learned from some of his past mistakes and taking action there was an absolute must. The pick up gives us a legit point guard without tearing the team apart and he didn't have to part with Pietrus, JJ or anyone that we wanted to keep. JJ is still a trading chip and Otis used some expiring contracts this time instead of letting them go to waste. I think it will turn out well - I think Rafer will be good - we'll see tonight hopefully - he is not Jameer, but a good pickup. Regardless of how it turns out I think Otis did us right - he owes us for retaining BHill, for letting our expirings expire and for trading Trevor for nothing and losing Darko - I don't blame him on Darko. I will credit him for knowing to sign Jameer - I was with him all the way on that and Otis has as much faith in Jameer that I did and do. Good job Otis. Lets see it continue! Good job Otis??? Lets see this quote from old newspaper articles from his past! Even if the charges were dropped the magic style of player is not there! "On Sunday morning, August 5, 2007, Alston was arrested in downtown Houston on misdemeanor charges of assault and public intoxication.[3] He was arrested again in the early hours of Tuesday, August 28 in New York on charges of allegedly slashing a man on the neck during a nightclub altercation.[4] Neither the club owner, police, nor security tapes have provided any evidence of the incident occurring.[5] The charges brought against Rafer Alston for the incident that took place on August 5, 2007 were dropped on February 29, 2008. [6] "We went into court, and the DA office indicated that all charges be dismissed based on their investigation," Al Ebanks (Alston's Lawyer) said. "They did not feel this is a case that should go forward. We're obviously pleased with the outcome, as pleased as can be when the case had no merit and understand should never have been charged in the first place." "Al and a lot of my family members were worried if I could go on with the season, would it be on my mind," Alston said. "When you know you didn't do anything, I just waited for it to be over and came in and focused on basketball. "You can deal with things when you know you didn't do it. Now the whole case is over with, and they want to keep it silent. I was on the front page when it happened. "Now when it's dropped they want to keep it silent. That's OK. I can deal with that. That's not who I am."[7] He was arrested again on August 7, 2008, and charged with DWI. [8]"

I doubt than Maccabi let him goes so easy, because he having a great season in the euroleague.

    Jameer's replacement??? [POLL]

Other, Carlos Arroyo, whose team will probably be eliminated from his best of 16 finals and he has an option to leave his contract without penalty to paly in the NBA if recalled. This will allow an easier transition tothe style of play of Stan. He has done very well in Europe with good consistency.

4 Plausible Deals for Otis from ESPN Insider Chad Ford

A win for the Magic and certainly a win for Carlos. It could be over soon if his team get eliminated from the initial round of the best of 16 to the finals. In addition he has an opt out clause in his contract without buyout, to play in the NBA. This could be compromise that would allow Jameer to get back in by the finals or by next year. Like Jameer, he has been having an excellent and incredibly (consistent) year. I think they were both putting too much pressure on each other last year.

Jameer Nelson making himself All-Star worthy

Jameer has had the numbers and the timing of his performance when his teamate were cold. He deserves to be picked. I admire his tenacity.

  18. quote: Originally posted by babad:I can't help but wonder what would be the case if we start Johnson for the rest of the season and let jameer come of the bench. the dude is a monster in distributing the ball en setting up an offence. jameer can learn a thing of 2 from this guy. I don't recall a match where jameer had 10+ assists It would be interesting to document with which PG Howard has better offensive, superficially it looks that he does better with Johnson.

    orlando targeting arroyo? (link)

Since somehow his name is allowed again in the board, let me speak.Carlos will not be back as third string, which would be unreasonable, and he would not take a paycut to do so. I can only speculate that there has been some interest from the magic in view of his outstanding performance in Israel and Europe. Another factor could be that the change of coaching staff could put him in a less favorable position, since with his salary they could restructure the team according to the new coaches plans. The issues here will be, will Van gundy agree, will Howard agree, is there any other more economic option in the market that could bring some more seat fillers in? Is it a priority or necessity for Otis to go back to the finals or could he wait to fill the empty spaces for next year without risking loosing his job?

    Obama economic appointments:

What about Obama's stance that Washington needed change, new faces and new ideas, only to appoint some of the most staunch, long-time capital hill insiders? I know the Unions are extremely displeased with Obama's early disregard for the workforce, and "shocking" support of big business. These are the old Clinton Guard that fueled a very strong economy. I feel Obama is sending a mesage to the investors and biggies, "have no fear we are going to regulate fairly your lives" These appointments realize that regulation has to be established to win the confidence of Joe the beer drinker and poker player again, without pissing the money mongers too much.

The West Coast Road trip is coming up, and those games will be very important to have everyone healthy (excluding Bogans.. fractured thumb). But this also means that "EVERYONE" must step up.... including Howard, who hasnt played very well the last couple of games. Small muscle bound athletes are prone to athletic injuries and thats a fact to live with that Otis should have considered. In one of my first posts here I commented that Jameer lacked resiliency for long seasons.

    Jameer is playing with consistancy!

He is looking confident and feels he has the trust of the coach which is a must. One comment that worries me, Dwight and him are inverting roles. As jameer increases his points, Dwight seems to dwindle in the same games.
