Its called DEPTH my friend and thats basically what we dont have... look at championship caliber teams, Spurs, Mavs, Suns, Jazz, Warriors (lol) and cant forget the Pistons... All of these teams have depth and nobody likes to play them because they can never get a break from their best players because all are goood...

I think with depth, our starters can rest more and the wins would eventually come

It seems to me that your forgetiing the Cavaliers in that list...

He is a great motivator, builds great rapoir with his players and is a winner.

I don't think he is the best X's and O's guy out there and might take him a while to adjust but hopefully he will place a good staff around him.

The best thing is he does not have a first round pick so he will not be tempted to bring in his players a la Rick Pitino.

I'm sure Redick, Howard, Ariza and the rest of the young guns are excited.

If there is one thing Donavon is great at, it is recruiting. I would lock Darko in at resigning now.

Donavon will bring a lot of talent into Orlando, who wouldn't want to play for this guy. He has a great reputation as a players coach.

I know lets hire "the best assistant" out there... P.J anybody?

I'm really excited about Donovan coming aboard but a side bonus that's almost as exciting is watching the Gator basketball program go back to the cellar where they've spent so many years before Billy got there.(lol)

    Life is good sometimes guys!!!!!!!

Im with you on that one

gators down Magic up !!! hoorah!!

  4. i went there and made this post...who knows maybe he reads it and talks about it

i think i'm gonna start reading your blogs because you have more chicks then guys responding...and most of the time they sound very intelligent...

    But seriously,

IF you have time JJ you should check out the orlandomagiczone.com, they are the offical Magic forums and the discussions, thoughts, trade proposals, critiques, and just general basketball knowledge might interest you.

I will have to say i have probably read at least over 100 times someone praise you for your high BB IQ. I dont know how someone can deduce that without ever talking to them but thats what we think of you over there.

Also if you could post your thoughts and observations on Travis Diener and Augustine that would be awesome. I am dissapointed that over the couse of 6 months and 82 games most of us are still in the dark on almost a third of roster and what they're capabilities are (including darko & Yourself)

Another thought is since they have already let go of Brian Hill, maybe you could (politely) tell us your thoughts on playing under him, and what could have been done differntly this season.

Lastly, by the time you repost to any of these thoughts the magic will probably have selected a new head coach, but if not who do you think would make a good head coach, can a college coach make it in the NBA or is it to different, and why would Coach K make a good NBA coach.

Anyways thanks for your time reading this and your thoughts on these issues.

    Thanks

    Oh well...

no, according to me (and any other people with at least decent mathematical knowledge), Memphis had 64.3% of top3, and Boston 55.8% of getting any top3 pick

    just read this

btw: i really don't like people who refuse to accept proven facts, and its quite shame that respected board member like you belongs to this group

  7. you guys forget that we have like 10 to 12 million in free agent money... if all we have to do is come within 16 million of his salary we could sign and trade an awesome free agent that they want plus package hedo & diener or hedo & Ariza or Hedo & Arroyo or even just hedo (hedo plus a 12 million free agent equlas 17 million) plus a 1st rounder next year and they would come out looking like they got a fair deal and might be pretty strong.

I hink otis would be a fool if he did not take this option under consideration and maybe a few weeks of study to see if its possible without letting go of our promising young starters...

The good part about signing and trading a free agent is that its almost like a 3 team deal just the third team the free agent leaves gets screwed.

I believe it is possible to sign a free agent for more then we have in fre agent money, correct? What we are trying to do is stay under the luxury tax threshold correct? so why not pry away a very coveted free agent by offering more then another team will offer a player which mean we have him under contract ourselves and not have to worry about the third team

(example nets not wanting vince to walk away without getting something in return will match any offer and then trade him to the team that was trying to grab him) Since KOBE is Gold will RDV be willing to pay 2 to 5 million in luxury tax to bring him here??

I think this would be an awesome move whichever people otis need to make this happen and what ever free agent he uses in this scenario where is a sample lineup

    Dwight

    Darko

    Kobe

    JJ

    Dooling Or Nelson

    Bench

    Dooling or Nelson

    Battie

    Diener

    Augustine

    Gortat

    Garrity

    Bogans

    *Arroyo

    *Hedo

    *Ariza

    Grant Hill - Resign

    Bo Outlaw - Resign

    And Marc Macaroni

    * denotes possible traded players

I don't knopw about you but who wouldnt like that roster...granted we would need a little touch up on the bench players but i don't think that would be a problem considering we would still have the MLE

I remember having almost 50 posts alone (with D-Bo, BJ, and you) when reddick got drafted all the way from duke vs N.C. busts to medical facts about the kinda injury he sustained!!!

    Good times last off-season...

  9. lol i never posted min even thought they were in there.... i think it was 53 and 29.

Yeah we were just trrying to keep our focus and let everyone see we were not ok...changes were needed and some of those requests will be answered this offseason

  10. and some more free time i found some (but not nearly all) our thoughts on the magic's season recod before the start of the seaseon and a few days into it

42-38 would be realistic if we played 80 games a season, but 46-36 would be realistic

Somewhere in between 43 and 48 wins - The Solution

    i mean 44-38 - Darko1fan

    NBA Champions! We'll finish 54-28 - D-BoFats

I think we are good for at least 45 wins. - Emory889

what they don't understand about this Magic team is that we have Jameer Nelson - enough said - 50 wins - Knappy

I think we will be good for atleast 45 win's,probably more - Erik

    52.....for the 4th time - JD

IF hill is healthy we definetly will be in high 40's low 50's if not middle 40's most likely - richnba

Another nice little side benefit to finishing with a great record this season: that first rounder to the Pistons will be down in the 20's. - Live or Die Magic

(i'm assumin he meant high 40's low 50's)

Somewhere in between 43 and 48 wins. - The Franchise

We have won 22 of our last 30 games (end of last year and pre-season this year). If we can take that .733 winning percentage we'll win 60 games this year. Of course that won't happen, but if those last 30 games are any kind of a reflection of the season to come, we'll easily win 50 games this year. - D-bo Fats

Regular season 52-30 - Jack Daniel

Results (37 votes counted so far):

How far will we make it this year

    0 (0%)

We will pack our bags early

    5 (14%)

    Knockout in 1st round

    21 (57%)

    Knockout in Semifinals

    7 (19%)

    Knockout in East Conference Finals

    4 (11%)

    NBA Champions

  11. junkie say whatever you want i ll.ike reading your comments because even though they differ from mine you write them very well thought out and dont always go from point a to point b ( example: magic are doing bad=must be coach) sometimes you go all over the place instead which makes for interesting thoughtful reading.

just because i had some free time here is the link to the topic where me and smack started getting serious flak for our mentality that "the team is not ok and we need to do something about the coach"

I cant believe we have been fighting the same battle since december 6th.... i was called a doucebag and a few other choice words by the godfather and others, because we were not afraid to say there are some serious flaws showing up in our team and most should be corrected by our coach... and if not corrected the magic were not going to do good this season.

so you see junkie after 6 months it gets kinda hard being polite about saying the same thing!!! lol

Listen, it is not out of bounds to defend whatever your position is, by all means please do, but do not take the Bianchi road of contridictions, double talking from the planet Alpha Centuri!

I suggested in one of the early post to go to hoopsworld.com, click on columnist and pull up Bianchi's work (if that what you want to call it) and you will find a collection of continious contradictions. And one last thing BJ, be honest with yourself here and count how many times you yourself posted that you were ready to jump on the firebrianhill band wagon because you had no idea what BHill was thinking! I suggest you pull up some of your old post before answering!!!!!

    Planet Alpha Centuri!!! That's great!

Bianchi is protecting the armada from Zur's evil empire.

So what does that make you smack?? the last starfighter??
