  1. Among the players who the Magic and Banchero have caught the eye of is Los Angeles Clippers forward Paul George. On his podcast, "Podcast P with Paul George," George singled out the Magic's performance against the Cleveland Cavaliers and Banchero's impact in the series.

‘Paolo has been the ultimate star,’ George said. ‘He's been phenomenal, he's been sensational, a true superstar, and he's playing against a tough team... He's been extremely consistent, he's been a scorer [and] dominant. I love his tenacity. He's one of the strongest players that I played against...He is a man-child literally playing a man's game at such a young age…

He reminds me a bit of Melo from a standpoint of the physicality,’ George said. ‘Melo was like that where you knew you play against Melo, you were going to get banged and bruised up from him constantly putting pressure at the rim and putting pressure on you to stay in front of him…

I've been very impressed with his first playoff experience and that Orlando Magic team is going to be good for a very long time.’”

  2. “The Philadelphia 76ers and Orlando Magic are reportedly preparing to pursue All-Star wing Paul George if he explores leaving the Los Angeles Clippers.

‘There's two teams that are paying very close attention to Paul George: the Orlando Magic and the Philadelphia 76ers,’ ESPN's Ramona Shelburne said on the Hoop Collective (17:45 mark). ‘Because both of them have the money to throw at him and have a need for a wing, just like him, a veteran guy. Every time I watch the Sixers I'm like, 'Oh, they could use Paul George.’

ESPN's Brian Windhorst then chimed in, saying George's future in Los Angeles may come down to the Clippers' willingness to offer him a max contract.”

I think Joe was a +12 in 10 minutes last night. First good game of the series for him, and he’s not a long term piece.

I’m impressed by Paolo because he’s doing what he’s doing as the only consistent offensive threat. The turnovers are frustrating but they’re a result of how bad the half court offense is. I cant wait to see Paolo with a secondary playmaker that is a threat to score and can set him up for some easy shots. Right now everything he does is so damn difficult, and he’s still playing at a high level. Franz isn’t a playmaker for others on O imo. He’s an iso guy and if he can’t get his jumpshot back, he’s not gonna fit long term with Paolo.

Just to keep it real here, a lot of Paulo's turnovers are no-look passes to the top of the arc right into defenders hands, and his handle is often too high and loose. That's all on him. Additionally, Paulo's defense has a lot of room for growth. In regards to the Franz playmaker bit, the numbers tell a different story, as he's averaging more assists than Paulo in the playoffs with far less of a usage rate (22% vs 32%). Honestly, our guard play is so bad and inconsistent on offense that's hard for me to get a read on Paulo and Franz's ceilings right now.

  4. "The Phoenix Suns have acquired forwards Kevin Durant and T.J. Warren from the Brooklyn Nets in a four-team trade with the Milwaukee Bucks and Indiana Pacers. Brooklyn receives forwards Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, multiple first-round picks (2023, 2025, 2027 and 2029) and a first-round pick swap in 2028 from Phoenix, as well as second-round picks from Milwaukee, in the exchange."

First, it was crazy for the Suns to give up that much for a mid-thirty year-old player who has a serious injury history. If I'm the Suns, I'm trying to trade Durant and recoup some value for him there from a team that's close. I'd especially look at getting a young star who could grow with Booker. Not sure who that may be, but I think that's there only logical path forward.

Mavs screwed up, he's said he would have signed a deal with them if they offered him a certain amount (can't remember the specifics now). But once Mavs didn't sign him it was always going to be Knicks. His agent is the son of the Knicks GM and his father is on the coaching staff.

Cuban really, really, really blew that one.

I’m kind of annoyed with the league. They put us on a Thursday night game and then have us on a Saturday early afternoon game. Might as well be a back to back!

Meanwhile the Heat and Celtics on 3 days rest get the 6 PM slot. Just garbage scheduling

Given our youth, and given Mitchell's recent injury woes, I think this works to our advantage.

I don’t understand how Spo keeps doing this… this Heat team without Butler has no business in the playoffs, let alone beating a 60+ win Celtic team in Boston.

It helps to draft/add guys who are ready to play… and who can already shoot.

    D'Angelo Russell hit 7 3s in game 2.

I'm not even a fan of his really. But at this point we're so unbelievably desperate for some shot making I'll be thoroughly campaigning for us to go after him or anyone like him.

Trae Young, Dejounte Murray, the corpse of Klay Thompson, if you can shoot the ball at a high level we should be trying to trade for or sign you this off-season.

Lol. It’s now crystal clear that Franz and Paulo need to be surrounded by pure shooters. Not just at the guard position but all over the place.

  9. Cole Anthony… Magic killer. 0 points tonight off the bench. Unplayable.

Together our guards tonight off the bench (Cole, Kelle, Joe and Caleb) had 3 total points.

An epic failure on the part of Weltman. Either we stayed the course so our young guys like AB could develop, which isn’t happening in the playoffs, or we stayed the course and bet wrong, especially on Cole and Kelle. Either way, what a mess at the guard position.
