  1. I'm having trouble posting my pic. Dang it, man.
  2. Man, I thought he gave some really good feedback: 1. We are going to be aggressive in free agency ... by going after a go-to scorer (mentioned several times). Said we need a sg or sf who can "manufacture" points and take over games. Interestingly, he barely talked about resigning Darko. Hmmm. 2. He really called out Jameer by saying our pg is 2nd on the team in turnovers (after Dwight) and we are last in the league in turnovers as a team... partly due to Jameer's [poor] play. 3. He said a lot can/will happen to our roster via free agency, trades, the draft, etc. He also said we will be trying hard to get in the 1st round this year. Honestly, I thought the questions (all asked by season ticket holders) were really pointed questions. He was both truthful and appropriate for this time of year.
  3. This is a very good stuff. Thanks Otis. (I will probably get in trouble for posting this ... oh well). Enjoy. http://boss.streamos.com/wmedia/nba/teams/magic/state_o..._multi_stream002.asx
  4. From Chad Ford's chat today on ESPN: Mario (Ohio): Jermaine O'Neal and Pau Gasol - do they end up in another uniform? Chad Ford: Yes ... along with KG and Ray Allen in my opinion. Those are some pretty big names.
  5. They play their power forwards like we should play our power forwards. What do you know ... it actually spreads the court out and allows for easier driving lanes and open shots.
  6. Curious as to what you guys want to do. Not saying it would secure him, but what do you think of offering Chauncey a max deal right out off the gate? Yes, he is old, but so are Nash and Kidd and they still are tearing it up. Perhaps we could make a trade to free up more space AND resign Darko. Who knows? Just want some feedback.

  8. Would I have a problem with this? Yes. I think keeping him in any capacity would be a mistake. This team doesn't need Brian breathing down their necks (or the new coaching staff's neck) in any way. Bad idea.

    Poll: Offer Chauncey Max Deal?

Guys, you all are way undervaluing Chauncey. He is one of the best leaders in the NBA. As Detroit's pg the last 5 years, he has led them to an average of 54 wins/season (without a decent low post offensive player). He is a great defender, creator, etc. My point is that great pgs are very hard to come by, and, yes, Chauncey is great. IMHO, I actually believe he is worth overpaying for because he would fit this team so well and help develop our youngs. What is Dwight's development worth??? How long will it take this team to win 50 games in a season as we sit now??? Look, everyone on here knows I want VC. Yet I am beginning to wonder what is better for the development of this team long-term ... a great pg or a great sg? I'm beginning to think pg. Could Billups be to the Magic what Dree Brees was to the Saints (NFL)?

    Poll: Offer Chauncey Max Deal?

I am surprised at the responses. Good stuff. Personally, I am becoming more and more convinced of the need for a good pg ... like the need for a good qb. Meer has such a long way to go. IMHO, finding a good replacement for Meer this summer is the #1 fa priority. A good pg (AND COACH) would really help Dwight, Trevor, JJ, and Darko (assuming he resigns) develop.

Jameer could maybe be a Smurf.

This is awful. Literally, we have no plan at the end of games. No plays, etc. Brian Hill is so poor at coaching.

Key is playing so much better than Meer. Battie is getting whooped.

Like I thought, Billups is taking Jameer to school. Meer's lack of size and defense are killing us.

    JJ's got great work ethics

Bench is up to 230? This kid has got to hit the weights. The senior high pg I mentor in LW can do that about 5x.

    point proven

Coach Hill just has not adapted fast enough, and it has cost the Magic the entire season. Nelson can be a pass first PG as was the case the past two games....now why this was not realized back in December or, heck, even January, is beyond me. A Vince Carter or Rashard Lewis will immensely help this potentially talented team. Retooling Darko to be like a Dirk is also so important. We can't clog the lane. We need him a little out to shoot or pass, and, yes, dunk, as well. That's just it. Darko is so versatile and so under utilized by Brian Hill, it is a shame. A PG change? We'll see. I would prefer Nelson if he gets his act together, and he is (finally) starting to do so. He has the heart of a champion, and I like this about him. I also like that he is good friends with Howard. A backcourt of a pass first Nelson and Vince Carter -- can potentially be deadly. Nelson just needs to be more consistent. Let us keep an eye on him in the game vs. the Pistons. Re: changes. Well, yeah, a coaching change would be very nice so we can finally get this talented team in the right direction! Good post.

Jameer was a POINT GUARD last night

Guys, while I liked how Jameer played last night, we beat a Milwaukee team that was downright awful. AWFUL. They maybe had one, ONE, starting caliber player last night in Mo Williams ... and even he wasn't a starter until this year. Plus, Jameer was matched up with an elf (Boykins). I want to see Jameer (and this team) play well against a decent/good team. Besides his turnover and shot selection problems this year, Jameer has terribly struggled defending decent pgs all year ... he is way undersized. Before we jump for joy and hand Jameer the reins, let's wait and see how he plays against solid NBA competition.

    trade darko!

Eagle, I agree with you. If Brian played Darko correctly and we had a true pg, I could see Darko being a Rasheed Wallace/KG type. Thankfully, it looks like the coach and our pg are finally getting the criticism they deserve. Meanwhile, Darko has continued, especially over the last couple of weeks, to improve and hold his head high. It looks like he now has a little fire in his eyes. That is what I was hoping to see for a long time.
