    Cost of Michael Redd?

Given the poor play of the Bucks, a Milwaukee beat writer suggests they trade Redd: http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=703313 What would it cost us to get him? A trade of Hedo, JJ, Pat, Keyon, and a 1st works numbers-wise. However, I think they'd want to dump a bad contract with him (Gadzuric or Simmons). Thoughts?

The Contra Costa Times was reporting that Arroyo was at the top of their list as far as a back-up point guard. The Warriors are desperate for help there. That's why we already had a long thread trying to figure out trade scenarios with them to try and upgrade our roster. I think that the fact that this deal may go down this week is the big deal and that the offer was made. Is your source a high up employee of either organization or a relative of a high up employee of either organization?

    Is a Hedo Trade Inevitable?

Unbelievable. I just got on here and saw this wall-hanger thread. Los for Pietrus is junk. Los is worth A LOT more than that given his great play. As indicated a day or two ago, Smack and I are on the same page: JJ and Los for Wright & Pietrus. Throw in Franny and Junkie if necessary.

    Is a Hedo Trade Inevitable?

Hedo is Otis' 2nd favorite player behind Dwight (according to sources). He's not getting traded.

Fans Game Thread * Magic - Nets * Jan. 2nd

Dwight got to the line plenty of times. As the leader of this team and potential MVP of the league, he can't go 3 for 10. That is unacceptable.
  9. The Magic are known for being the most family friendly team in the NBA. It is no secret that ownership/management believes in having the "right" guys on the team. This means having the "right" guys on and off the court doing the "right" things. Fair enough, but many media outlets have criticized the Magic for this position for a few reasons, the main one being losing. Would the Magic be willing to take a chance on a not so "right" guy if it helps us win? The guy that comes to mind is Chris Anderson (aka Birdman). A bigger Trevor Ariza who was known for his hustle, he got kicked out of the league two years ago for "drugs of abuse." In January, he'll be up for reinstatement. At the time of his failed drug test, many viewed his suspension as very stiff. From what I've read, he's now clean and has changed his ways. No, he wouldn't start for us but could be the athletic big man we need off the bench. At 6'10'' 230, he is a 29 year old FC who has had a PER (ESPN) around 14-15 his entire career. For me, I hope the Magic would be willing to give up that "right" image for the sake of winning and giving a guy a second chance. Here is to Chris getting another shot and the Magic winning!

    Start Redick?

Why not? He has an amazing jump shot and could put points on the board!
  11. http://www.contracostatimes.com/warriors/ci_7848879 Would you trade Carlos to GS? For whom? I think Carlos is much more valuable to our team than Pietrus would be so it would have to be for a lot more than Pietrus. I'd rather trade Dooling than Los but even then I'm not sold that Pietrus would be an upgrade over Dooling. Now if Harrington or Biedrins were thrown into the discussion, my opinion would change. Thoughts? BTW, this other article below suggests that we did have interest in Pietrus over the summer. Hmmm ... http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/01/01/SPQ6U735R.DTL

He's always been a pre-season hero and finally got his chance. I am happy for him and the Bucs. He's playing like he's a top 10 back. And, yes, I believe Caddie is done, and I mean done. Anyway, in honor of Graham, I had to post this sig someone created and uses on PewterReport. IMO, it's the best sig ever created. Enjoy.

Curry, Lee and Rose want out of NYC???

I really wish they had something outside of Lee that we would want. If people are honest, many people on this board, I believe myself included, were open to trading Turk for Lee (and change) after Shard signed. Kudos to Otis for holding Turk.

Unfortunately, your trade doesn't include a bad contract so please include the very versatile Brian Cook with your battery, gum, and Trek.

    Start Redick?

quote: Originally posted by VieraFan:A few games back, SVG actually played Redick. He handled the ball very smoothly. Does anyone think he could be groomed into a PG? His D is in question, but face it guys, Jameer gets over powered by taller PGs, and gets out hussled by the smaller ones. He is not the worst PG in the league by any means, but compare his stats, and you wil find out he is middle of the road. We got shooters, and need a better distributor. Looks to me like JJ can pass the ball, and with 8 seconds left, and a 1 point lead, who do you want at the free throw line? I like the idea, though I'm not sure his handle is up to par.

The real reason I want Wright is because of his facial hair. Like Dwight, his goatie reminds me of the Hawaiian islands ... bumpy, uneven, and more than spotty. See pic below.

quote: Originally posted by Skywise316:I don't know exactly how the salary cap stuff works out.. But I think Redick would be GREAT in Golden State. They shoot threes like crazy and are already the worst defensive team in the league. LOL sounds like a match made in heaven to me. Why would you even consider trying to trade Carlos right now? 1. Have you seen this Magic team without him? 2. Have you seen this Magic team with him, even just backing up Jameer, let alone starting? 3. Have you seen Keyon Dooling (not) run the backup point at any time this season!? So you want to trade our borderline PG starter for a guy who can't even crack Golden State's steady rotation. Not Stephen Jackson, not Monta Ellis, not Matt Barnes, but Mikael Pietrus. Not to mention we already have 57 shooting guards on our roster already. Yeah that makes total sense. If this were to happen it would have to be for SGs we already have and/or someone deep on our bench as a salary cap-matching throw in. Redick, Dooling, Evans, Garrity, Cook, heck I'd even trade Bogans before Carlos right now. I wouldn't even think about trading Jameer because his value has to be pretty low right now. You guys with your trade ideas need to think about the other team and what they'd be willing to do themselves. It takes two to tango. Agree. The only way I think we trade Los is to really build for the future given that Los is a UFA this summer. I am not high on Pietrus. I am, however, high on Wright. If he were somehow involved, I'd consider sending Los. The real question is are we true contenders or not? If not, then we probably should trade Los. If we are, then we should hold him. It should be interesting to see if we can resign him this summer either way. *Edit: The real reason I want Wright is because of his facial hair. Like Dwight, his goatie reminds me of the Hawaiian islands ... bumpy, uneven, and more than spotty.

Not that Orlando fans want to read this, but how fun/good will Los look at GS? I think he would flourish.

If what you are saying is right, then we should trade "Pretty Boy" instead of Arroyo. At least Arroyo likes to play hard every day, specially when playing before the numerous puertorican fans from Orlando. We should hope "Pretty Boy" keeps playing hard for his job, increase his trade value, and then trade him for a Big PF. Right? At least we know now that we can win without "Pretty Boy" but not without Carlos. Jameer is virtually untradeable right now b/c of the structure of his new contract. He is in the poison pill phase of it given that he is still on his rookie deal.

Wright would give us a potential 4 for the future, while Pietrus would give us a defensive GF. Tweaking it a lil bit. Instead of Wright (no way they let him go), we get Croshere or Pat O'Bryant. The only reason I'd do the trade is for Wright. Anyway, I heard Nellie say that Wright isn't going to play this year. I believe that JJ would be better long-term in that system than Wright. Would you do Los and Redick for Pietrus and Wright??? Given that Los is the best back-up pg in the league (not including Calderon b/c of Ford's injury), he has loads of value. Carlos fans, would that even be worth it? Is Wright worth it?
