    PHX shopping Amare

There is absolutely NO WAY we can get Amare w/o giving up Dwight.
  2. From yesterday's chat: Dan (Philadelphia): Who would benefit the most from trading for Andre Miller. And what can the Sixers get in return, a 1st rounder? John Hollinger: Cap relief is much more important to the Sixers than a No. 1, especially since it would be a pick in the 20s (presumably only a contender would bother with such a deal). Miller is a funny player because he can't shoot, so the "space the floor" teams don't have a great use for him. Off the top of my head, Orlando, Denver, Utah, Boston and maybe Cleveland seem like good fits, though not all of them are equipped to provide the Sixers with what they seek, so you could see a third team involve. http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/chatESPN?event_id=18827 Cap space? Easy enough: Andre Miller for Carlos Arroyo & Pat Garrity http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?playe...s=20~20~19&te=&cash= This would actually allow us to bring Jameer off the bench and at times play Jameer with Miller. Want a PF, too? Andre Miller and Reggie Evans for Carlos Arroyo, Pat Garrity, and Keyon Dooling http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?playe...9~20~20~20&te=&cash= Would these trades be worth it? Not sure.

They are happy with Miller and still have plenty of cap room going into the offseason already, so they are not desperate to trade Miller unless they get some talent in return. Not according to Hollinger.

MAJOR POLL: half way and more

Darko? No sir.... Lawd help us. Maggette says he will opt out this summer. The Turk trade wouldn't make sense unless he were extended ... which can't happen now. Jameer. I have been sorely (no pun intended) disappointed in his play. He has yet to show this year he's worth anything near that contract or a starting role.

    2 ESPN Chats Today

Please give me an order of Andre Miller instead. Our PG play is ... ahhh ... awful.
  6. Junkie, no. We had a 19 point lead in the 3rd that evaporated b/c of horrible defense, no ball movement, and missed shots. Gang, to me, it is pretty obvious. We struggle when teams get physical with us and when teams are more athletic than us. Atlanta has done it to us and now Charlotte has done it to us.

  11. "I want a new contract for the longevity of it and get another six years at the end of this deal," said Arenas, who is making $11.9 million this season. "I don't know what's going to happen. I could have signed an extension this year, but it wasn't going to make sense for me. If my own team doesn't take me, I'll go somewhere for a lot less to win a championship." http://www.boston.com/sports/basketball/celtics/article...now_praises_celtics/ Read that last sentence again. What team do think he is talking about? Boston, no. Detroit, no. To me, I believe he has to be pondering the Magic, especially since he is friends with Otis from his GS days. How does a line-up of Arenas, Rashard, and Howard sound?
  12. quote: Originally posted by bhnole:Otis never's tells the media anything anyway, so I am not reading much into it. AGAIN!!! A very big point is made that people continue to miss. Our schedule gets incredibly soft for the rest of the year after playing a league high 25 road games and 13 back to back's tonight. People like trying to compare us to Boston, so lets compare schedules. Boston has only played 17 road games and still have 12 road games left against western conf teams. We have one road game left against the West (Memphis). How about our main competition for the Southeast title which was pretty much the main goal before the season. Washington - 18 road games played, 11 still to go against the West. Atlanta - 14 road games played , 13 left in the West (cupcake schedule so far). Charlotte - 14 road games played, 16 left in the west (Pillsbury dough boy soft), Miami (whose season is already over) - 21 road games, 4 games left in west. People love to mention the 8-12, but watch as these teams get their butts handed to them in the West. Personally, I am proud of this young team and how they handled being dealt the toughest early schedule in the East and still came out eight games above .500 and leading our division. If the team takes advantage of the homecourt like they did last night, we should walk away with the division while our rivals go into the tough parts of their schedules. Great post! I concur

I think b/c of JJ's reputation and skill of shooting the Hawks might have to throw in a future Draft pick to make the deal go down. Both these players need new settings and both would be good fits for these two teams. I like it

Gilbert Arenas ... To The Magic?

Why would he want to come to the Magic??? We have the best center in the game WHO IS 22 years old and signed for a long time. We are overly nice and supportive to our players. Overrated? Didn't he go face-to-face with Lebron in the playoffs and almost win? This guy has been one of the top 5 guards in the league over the last 3 seasons. Come on, give the man his do. Here's to Agent "0" in a Magic uni!!! Go Magic!!!

Agent "0" and Agent "12." I'm already lovin' it! Check out these numbers: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/stats?statsId=3540 Alright, fellas, got to work. Have a blessed day! Go Magic!

quote: Originally posted by OsoTommy: quote: Originally posted by Soul Bro:Shoot, we could get him now and extend him: Jameer, JJ, and Hedo for Gilbert You are cut with the same wood as Otis. Why do you want to give away so much for one player? We can negotiate Meer and JJ for Arenas without a problem. No need to add Hedo into the equation. A good GM should make this happen. He is saying that he'll go to another team even if he doesn't get much as long is a championship contender. We may not even have to trade anyone but we would have to let a few go to open the cap, in such case, we will be the ones chosing who goes to our best interest. Your confidence is so off it is quite amusing. From your post it's obvious that you do not understand how NBA salaries and the cap work. (i.e. We couldn't trade JJ and Jameer for Gilbert b/c of salaries. And, no, we can't just "let a few go to open the cap.") Yes, to get Arenas as an UFA this summer would be ideal. However, I was simply suggesting we could maybe secure him now through a trade if Orlando is where he wants to end up.

Shoot, we could get him now and extend him: Jameer, JJ, and Hedo for Gilbert http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?playe...7~27~27~19&te=&cash= You like apples? How about them apples?

Gilbert Arenas ... To The Magic?

Better believe I'll keep dreamin'! How in the world did Boston get KG AND Allen? Yes, I know the facts but nobody would have thought that would be possible, right? Keep in mind, also, that AJ is a UFA this season, too, so he might not be back with Washington next year. I'll tell you this much: I believe most of the stars in this league would LOVE to play in Orlando b/c we have the BEST up-and-comer in the league, Mr. Dwight Howard! Go get him, Otis!!!

I like the way you're thinking. BTW, I'm from Polk County. Born in good old Lake Wales.
