At least that is the impression I have received.

I've also been told that Hedo is not going anywhere unless it is an unbelievable deal.

I've been told Otis really likes Rush and CDR. Interestingly, I believe both have the ability to play SG and SF.

First round, Pick #22 Orlando Mario Chalmers Position: PG Height: 6-2 Weight: 170 Age: 22 School: Kansas The skinny: With Carlos Arroyo and Keyon Dooling both hitting the free-agent market this summer, the Magic could hedge their bets with Chalmers -- a sweet-shooting, hard-defending floor leader who can play both the 1 and the 2. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/draft2008/columns/story?c...age=MockDraft-080609

  6. Count me in as one who wants him and thinks he could bring us a championship. The Pacers have stunk since they traded him. He is one of the best two-way players in the game. Plus, with Otis acting as his personal shrink/life coach, he would be in a highly structured environment, which he needs. I don't see it happening, but it is a nice dream.

Junkie, I was told the Magic are going to be very active in FA. Towards what position? I don't know. Regarding Redick, I think everyone on here knows I personally would like him traded. However, my source alluded that he was going to be here next year. I'll check back with him to see if he has anything more specific.

Great band. They had a nice run from 1989-1994. Wow, I am also a Toad fan. Still listen to them all the time. I also like Ray LaMontagne and Matisyahu. Grew up on DMB, Widespread Panic, Phish, The Allman Bros., Government Mule, Counting Crows, the Black Crowes, and a lot of the groove bands.

The only specific guys I know that Otis likes in the draft are Rush and CDR.

Yes, because of the new rules that favor guards and wingmen. IMO, and this is not insider info, we need three things this summer: a starting caliber SG (i.e. Rush, CDR, Childress, JR Smith, Pietrus, etc.), a banger PF who can hit the open jumper (i.e. Turiaf, Kurt Thomas, DJ White, etc.), and a defensive back-up PG (i.e. Duhon, Dooling, etc.).

Oh and I did also hear, in agreement with Cat, that the Magic plan to keep playing small a lot with Shard at the 4.

quote: Originally posted by Catman:I believe Soul Bro, but this is not really inside info at all. I mean, of course Dooling will take the best offer..lol. Why would JJ stay and Otis drafts Rush? That makes no sense because we know JJ would still be the 3rd option. JJ is definitley being shopped and the Magic are looking at what they can get for Hedo. They are not getting the value you would expect. Most teams are not interested in trading their draft pick for Hedo, but the Knicks may be. Otis sees Hedo as a utility man who will play mainly SF but also some SG. Bogans will most likely stay since no one wants him and he is cheap. SVG wants to be able to use his small lineup still but also adjust and put in a PF and be able to use 2 bigs whenever he needs. So that means that Battie will most likely not start. What sucks is that Cook is still here. Otis needs to get rid of this guy somehow and try and trade up for Speights. If he makes that happen, the Magic are deep at big suddenly. You would be looking at Speights coming in for Rashard or Hedo and working his way into the starting lineup as he develops. A guy no one has mentioned that could be moved for this to happen is Gortat. At SG, the Magic know they need an upgrade, and that will most likely be the MLE. This is where the speculation comes fast and furious and I have not heard too much about who they want yet because the draft has yet to happen. With the 2nd round pick (the magic will probably trade cash and future considerations for one), I expect Otis to go after Weaver, a tall PG he has worked out. Jay Williams is an obvious veteran name for the Magic to get as another PG to mentor the new guy. Another wild card is Kurt Thomas. He could be had for the Vet Min, and would be high value at this point. He would be here to provide mass depth at big, and would be utilized a small amount and saved up for the playoffs, when the Magic know they need to go big more often. I hear ya. Not saying I agree with the info I posted, but all of it (on page 1) came from the top of the Magic organization.

If Otis's summer plans went the way you want, how would it be? If Dooling bolts, who and how do we fill his spot? If the Pistons trade some of their key pieces and Orlando somehow gets the upperhand on them next season, do you see us being a player for the ECF/NBA Finals and do you agree with Otis's plan? How much more improvement do you see Dwight making next year since each season he has been in the league has been a steady diet of progresion? I could go on with my test but I'm sure you get the idea. Ha-Ha. Lots of questions. Let me answer them with what I want in a reasonable world. I want Rush or CDR with our first. I want to sign Duhon to back up our point. I want to sign Turiaf to bring depth and toughness to our power forward position. I want to consider making trades with Hedo and JJ to further strengthen our team. This would be a start. Not sexy but realistic. If we draft a SG, the big question will be whether or not we go after a SG in FA.

Or better yet, why would we even carry 4 shooting guards on the roster? IMO, if we draft a SG we will not resign Mo.

Dorsey isn't that highly regarded by Otis b/c he can't shoot AT ALL. 3. Hedo isn't going anywhere unless it is a ridiculous deal. (The thought of trading him is a joke to Otis). 4. It is assumed by Otis that Keyon is going to follow the best money available on the market. 5. At this point, JJ is set to return and not be traded by Otis. 6. We will be major players in FA but no specific targets were mentioned. Not major info but pertinent none the less. Look to me soul Bro that the inf. that you have is the same that I have 2 weeks ago. Look my post the points #2,4,5,6,and7. Some of them had been discuss in the spanish thread by me and other members. That is great. I suppose it further verifies the info. I am happy that Otis likes Rush and CDR. Hopefully, we can snag one of them. That BPA business is garbage that low in the draft.

No way the Magic take on AK's contract, and a 6'6'' PF is a joke ... unless you are Sir Charles. I don't get it man. There are a decent amount of very productive undersized 4s in this league. Hayes had a very good season. IMO, Battie is better than this kid. If we trade Hedo it has to be for a borderline all-star. I know enough insider info to know that besides Dwight Hedo is Otis' favorite player on the team. It is gonna take a great deal for him to be traded.
