Personally, if we are going to use an asset to upgrade a position, I agree with you, Natmayo. AJ is so slow and an average dribbler. As to Horry being soft against bigs, I really don't remember that. I could be wrong but I remember Horry playing well (and defending well) the 4 when the Spurs moved TD to the 5 at times.

For me the answer is simple, Horry. Sure, his play has slipped. But he can defend athletic bigs (Sheed and KG) and shoot, unlike Aluminum. If my memory serves me correct, he defended Dwight and Amare quite well within the last two years. Plus, he is dirty and defends his team ... unlike anyone on our team. So unless we somehow trade for a player like him, yes, I'd like that man on our team. Here's to Sheed coming to the Magic this summer!!! Magic 08-09 NBA Champions! Well if you're behind Gortat and Battie you're not playing, so what's the point then? When's the last time Foyle was in a game? If we bring in a four, it should be an upgrade to what we already have. Horry's not an upgrade. We aren't going to be able to upgrade our 4 or 5 position without giving up a nice asset, which I've been told Otis will not do. Right now, Otis is only willing to trade Cook or the trade exception. With Horry, we can use him as another big when our current bigs struggle, like Marcin did recently against Detroit. Plus, we could use him for payback against the Nocioni's and Magloire's of this league.

Also, this is a low-risk-high-reward situation since he'll play for a "minimun" amount of money on a short contract. worst case: he sits on the bench wearing a suit best case: he roughs up some of our opponents on the defensive end and drains a few three-pointers on offense Exactly

Robert Horry, ladies and gentleman, plain and simple. Why we haven't pursued this guy already is a complete mystery to me. His game, even though his shooting has tailed off with age, is the EXACT game we need.... shooting, toughness, rebounding, and enforcing. Sheed and KG, meet our goon. Get ir done, Otis!!! Edit: Just sent this e-mail to Otis: Otis, Greetings, it has been a while. Thanks for the job you are doing. The team looks great. It seems to me that the Magic could still use another big who specializes in toughness and rebounding. Interestingly, a name that comes to mind is Robert Horry. Do you think he still has enough in the tank to "d-up" Sheed and KG and help our team out? The guy could open a jewelry store with all of his championship hardware. I would love a response. Go Magic!

Bron getting called for walking when he takes 8 steps thru the lane. i missed this one, but good to see we won. The refereeing was terrible for both teams, but also Wade rarely attacked the basket. I could be wrong, but I don't think he got a layup or a dunk this game. Dwight kept pretty much everyone out of the paint and that was the difference of the game. was it the guys we had playing d on him keeping him in front or was he settling? After he torched Bogans, CLee shut that man down, my friend.

You wish were in a relationship with Redick. And who is this quote directed towards? Either Redick or someone else on this board. Hmmm ... fishy ... we need to launch a message board investigation! Junkie, grab your gear and get to work!
  12. Strepsil, do you know if Pietrus and Turiaf are friends?
  13. Battie and a 1st for Turiaf and Williams http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?playe...ms=19~19~9&te=&cash= Boy, would that make for a nice lil' title contender. Now all I need is for Jareth to say, "Book it."

    Keith Bogans

I'm okay with Bogans starting and Lee off the bench. Lee's spark and ball handling skills are needed with ol' AJ on the floor.
  15. Nelson, Bogans and Pietrus were out against Boston. Plus, our bigs outplayed their bigs in that game: 53 points and 27 boards for Orlando to 29 points and 27 boards for Boston.
  16. Junkie, I've been calling for Turiaf all year for the toughness and rebounding factor. However, as I wrote, I don't see Otis doing anything given our winning ways. And at this point, I don't really blame him. We are REALLY good. The ONLY teams I see us struggling against are Detroit and Boston and both are quite old. Hmmm ... what to do.

    The Pistons have our number..

Well today Rashard shoved Nocioni hard to the ground to back-up Dwight. Matty G. and Paul thought Nocioni flopped, but I rewound the foul three times and clearly Rashard gave it to him good. Glad to see Lew-Lew gettin' a lil' nasty.
  18. I think too much is being made of the recent Detroit game. Weren't we tied in the middle of the fourth? Wasn't the game in Detroit? Haven't we won against some power house teams this year? Yes, we need a back-up pg. Yes, we could use another big. Yes, we could shed Cookie's salary. Yes, we could trade Redick. But I don't anything significant happening b/c of our winning ways and our chronic sg injuries.
  19. No way we should trade Gortat. After investing years into his development, we need to re-sign him. He is young and has loads of talent.
  20. How about some Magic-related fun... My family will be flying from (12 degree) Greenwich, Connecticut, down to Lake Wales, Florida, where I will watch the game with my father and my two lil' sons. You?

    More likely to happen

SVG as COY. His development of Jameer (as leader and gunner), Hedo (as facilitator and closer), Dwight (as beast), Shard (as versatile pf), and now Lee (6th man) and Gortat (as protector) has our team firing off wins. Very impressive. We have a real nice balance of offense and defense going on. Go Warlocks!
