I'll have to look at that," Coach Phil Jackson said. "I missed that. I wasn't aware of that." A league spokesman said NBA disciplinarian Stu Jackson was reviewing the incident. http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/56810/200901...grabbing_his_crotch/ Is this what we are missing? Sounds talented and ... cough ... confident.

    Reality

MA, good post. Still it points to the reality that we are overly dependent on Dwight to be our sole enforcer. We have a need for Sheed ... or Haslem ... or Turiaf ... or ...

But I also think we need a big with some nasty, too.

DOM, you are wrong, my friend. And for you to not include the playoffs in this discussion proves such. Maxiell went off as a back-up PF against us twice last year in the post season, with games of 12 points, 9 boards and 3 blocks and 11 points, 4 boards, 3 assists, 3 blocks, and 2 steals. And for you to suggest that I, Smack, KITNO, or other knowledgeable posters on this board are going crazy over this one game means you simple can't read. We have been preachin' this stuff for years. Captain Keyboard, take a chill pill.

When a back-up PF has 7 and 7 with back-up minutes I consider that a rather effective game. Since you are a statistic junkie, how often have our back-up PFs done that against Boston or Detroit?

DOM, auction off our every asset? Is that what I was suggesting? In the words of Borat, "Not so much." Can you answer my ending question from my last post? And, yes, Big Baby is quicker than our back-up "power forwards," which is a joke. And if memory serves me correct, haven't Powe and the others mentioned had uncharacteristically great nights against us, too. I am not discounting we are a great team. I am discounting that our current roster can bang and excel in four different post season series' to achieve a championship.

It is no coincidence that the top Eastern teams are loading up on big brutes. We need to counter with some muscle of our own. In the end, we are simply lacking something that is becoming a very popular trend: the bench PF who is a bit undersized but has the hustle and muscle to get some crucial boards, pester the opposing center, and commit hard fouls. Guys like Maxiell, Millsap, Haslem, Davis, Landry, Craig Smith, etc. This is a big time trend in the league, and it isn't going away. Exactly

DOM, I am surprised by your response. Obviously, Big Baby can't do that every night. Guys, my point is we have NO option at the moment to go to a traditional line-up for offensive or defensive purposes b/c we have no true power forward. None. This, imo, makes little sense. History tells us that traditional line-ups win championships and what Otis is attempting with the 4 shooters and the beast inside is innovative yet unproven in the post season. That is why the power forwards of Boston and Detroit--McDyess, Maxiell, KG, Powe, and Big Baby--though very mixed in talent, have all seemed to tee off on us. We simply struggle guarding agile and physical power forwards. Battie, Warlock, Foyle, Cook and even Howard cannot do it. Lewis, meanwhile, has the agility but not the physicality to do it. We are very, very close to a championship. So here is a simple question: Why not trade the TE, Redick, Bogans, Gortat, or Battie and possibly even a pick for a true power forward? EDIT: Can someone post that funny picture of the guys beating the dead horse. That is what I am attempting to do to get this point across!

Junkie!!! The problem is we have ZERO, and I mean ZERO, true power forwards on this team. Howard, Warlock, Battie and Foyle are all centers. Lew and Cook are small forwards. When the game slows down and gets more traditional in half court sets, we will struggle.

I need to bring this thread back up after the Boston loss. Is it clear to anyone else that Warlock and Battie are really going to struggle against smaller, quicker bigs in the playoffs??? Big Baby ... Big Baby ... had his way with us tonight. Boo. Even with Dwight. We will have the same problem with Detroit. We need to make a move.

Seriously, Junkie, can you make a "Tiger Woods is Lame" shirt for the next big game and go and make weird faces at the guy? Aren't you near him? Might that be enough? If not, I will simply have to send the cat that stole the cream, the one who trains with bears, the Warlock!

I don't know if we have ever won with that fool in attendance. I mean this in the most loving way ... Next time that jitter bug shows his face at at a Magic game, he needs to be "accidentally" merked by the Magic t-shirt bazooka.

It's pretty much a guarantee that Turk opts out of his contract (to ensure his job security long-term), and by way of that assertion, it seems doubtful that Turk is guaranteed to leave the Magic. I'd like to see him stay. He no longer dominates the ball like he once did (although he still has stretches of bad plays where he tries to get going early in games) and his shooting slump won't last another 5 years. He'll be a great addition to this team long-term. Hello everyone. This is one fantastic forum with great posters and I hope I can make some positive contribution myself. I am turkish by heritage living in NYC and guess what!! another of he-do fan here..wink To begin with, I agree with militarymagic that we'd sign Hedo for what is not my thing really and I am sure he-do and the management will find a way of making this work for years to come. cheers A.
