  1. Turk's current play and contract are forcing the hand of Otis. Can a team built around Turk, Lew, and Dwight win it all? That is what Otis must decide ... soon.

Kberto, where did you read Sheed's retiring? I'm hoping a call from Dwight would change that decision. Can you imagine those two protecting our rim. Pu-leeze!!!!

Why was Turk in there??? what the hell to do with turk on that In those situations, SVG has to switch out with his better defenders. On defense in that particular spot, MP should have been subbed for Turk.

  10. Tim Legler sees what everyone else sees ... an ineffective Turk. quote: PHILADELPHIA -- What were the Orlando Magic missing in the 96-94 Game 3 loss here Friday to the Philadelphia 76ers, the key factor that had helped them to a 59-win season? Try the real Hedo Turkoglu. The Magic's sweet-shooting forward just doesn't seem to have it. We asked about the status of his previously injured ankle before the game, but the Magic downplayed the idea that it was a problem. But you could see it on a number of plays in going to the rim that he's not getting the lift you need to finish strongly. He had many fruitless drives to the basket when Orlando needed one, going 2-for-12 from the field along with five turnovers. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/dailydime
  11. Good article, Mike. Bring the heat. PLEASE follow this one up with an article on Hedo's massive collapse in the playoffs. quote: Stan Van Gundy bristles at the suggestion that Rashard Lewis is overpaid and then goes on a two-minute dissertation on why the size of Lewis' contract shouldn't matter. "It's irrelevant," Van Gundy insists. If only that were the case, Stan. If only that were the case. If only we could all just watch what Rashard Lewis does without thinking about how much he makes. But, unfortunately, this is how we will recite Lewis' stat line from another devastating last-second playoff loss to the 76ers Friday night: 14 points, seven rebounds, $118 million. And yet another monster playoff game from Dwight Howard goes to waste. How can this possibly happen

Give three reasons you hate the Magic.

Thank you, Smack. Let us vent in an organized fashion! 1. Spaz-a-glu being our go-to guy. --Many of us have said this since our last season pummeling by Detroit. For years, Turk couldn't even stay a starter in this league. Now he's the go-to guy on a championship caliber team? 2. Having no true power forward. --Like a broken record, many of us have said this since our last season pummeling by Detroit. Thanks, Otis. 3. The injury bug hitting Jameer. --We sorely miss his energy, shooting, determination, fourth quarter scoring and leadership.

    Question

quote: Originally posted by Marc Acres 3:16: quote: Originally posted by SmackDaddy: quote: Originally posted by Marc Acres 3:16:By Hedo's account he's never been responsible for a single player on the floor. Defensively, I would confidently say that Hedo sags and blows coverage the most of any player on our team. Maybe that has more to do with the gameplan than Hedo's personal desire to guard his assignment - meaning, maybe SVG has drawn up a system where Hedo sags to the basket to help with rebounding or to grab the ball to push our offense after a rebound. Problem is, if a shot isn't attempted, or if we don't get the rebound, then Hedo is left out of position. I still don't understand how we use Dwight all game long to create offense (for himself and for teammates), and then the fourth quarter starts and he is non-existent. Because Hedo is Mr. 4th quarter right? I mean that is what the paper says, the commentators say, the magazines say. If they all say it, it has to be so. Our 4th quarter go to guy is also the guy with the most questionable shot selection and we just give it to him with a green light. And perhaps the worst defender on the team. That can't sit well with te rest of the team. I like Hedo but still believe his best role with any team is to be the 6th man. Hopefully, next year Lee and Lewis can become more go-to guys in crunch time.

    Question

I agree with KITNO and Smack. Guys, nothing matters until the playoffs. And in the playoffs, the game slows considerably, gets much tougher, and isolation plays in 4th quarters increase. This team needs better toughness and better isolation, wing play. And I am not willing to call out just one guy. Many, many Magic players lack in these categories: Turk (sporadic), Lewis, MP (hot or cold), Redick, and even Gortat (at times). Here's another question: Are the tougher guys, Howard, Alston, Lee, AJ and Battie, upset with SVG? I would guess, no. Lastly, that Kebo trade is looking silly and pointless now. Not that he hung the moon but at least he would play physical defense at the 2 or 3 much better than Turk.
