The Official "trade for ____ ? Thread"

If Amare walks with nothing in return, I'm not even sure they are a playoff team in the West. Could this make Nash available, given his age and their inability to be a contender without Stoudemire? Depending on the package we would have to give up, I think this would make us instantly better. We would finally push the pace consistently, something SVG and many on this board have harped on as something we need to create offense against the better defensive teams. No At this point I don't think Otiz would trade a package around Jameer for Nash.

    KYLER [LINK]

Kyler consistently gets too emotional and opinionated in his writing. Thus, like Echo and others have said, his "reporting" is not really (or only) reporting. Rather, it's a combination of reporting, sharing, processing and sometimes ranting, which makes his actual reporting reflect little credibility.

    The Hometown Kid: Dominique Jones

He's a great athlete who can break down the defense and get to the basket. He's not a great shooter, but the Magic are already loaded with guys who can stretch the floor.

    Ladies and gentlemen...

Rev, thanks for the info. It seems consistent with everything we heard over the last year. I DO think Otiz has a slim chance of landing Johnson or Bosh in a sign-and-trade. Junkie, stop fighting and get us some info. We enjoy it. And for the other insiders, I'm looking at you young Hobo and older poster man whose name I shall not unveil, let's rock n' roll!!! It's go time, baby!!!

  12. I'm not sure what happened with Bass. He looks the part on paper, but he couldn't consistently break into Stan's rotation.

I think Paul is far superior to Nelson and could create a real dynasty with Dwight. Not sure Otiz has the hoo-hoos to blow this thing up. I would try to somehow provide NO with major cap relief and picks for Paul and then trade Nelson to a team wanting a floor leader (i.e. NY, Memphis, Philly, Atlanta, etc.). u are aware a local billionaire just bought the hornets? why trade their franchise player for nothing? It's still being reported they want to dump salary.

  17. Gotta say, not many of these names get me excited. I'd like to trade Tat for a higher pick and pick up a C. Lee type. Or even find a way to land C. Butler for him. Haslem would be nice, too.

    The Hometown Kid: Dominique Jones

quote: Five potential sleepers in the draft by By Jonathan Givony Dominique Jones, SG, Jr. South Florida Measuring 6-5 in shoes with a 6-9 wingspan and sturdy 216-pound frame, Jones is one of the more physically impressive guards in the draft. The aggressive combo guard also is one of the best at creating his own shot and, among all prospects, ranks in the top 10 in scoring (21.4 last season) and top five in free-throw attempts (8.5). A capable playmaker, Jones wasn't always able to show off his passing skills while playing with less accomplished teammates, but he appears to have the vision and smarts needed to run a team effectively in spurts. Jones, however, likely isn't generating more hype because he played for a bad team -- South Florida won a combined 21 games his first two years before improving to 20-13 last season -- that relied too heavily on him to keep defenses honest. In addition, he shot only 31 percent from the shorter college three-point line in each of the last two seasons. Jones' stock seems to be rising -- he's a potential late first-round pick -- but he still might end up being undervalued on draft night. Plenty of teams could use a Shannon Brown-type combo guard off the bench for special assignments, and Jones certainly fits the bill. Guardian asked the same thing: http://orlandomagiczone.com/ev...91029871/m/411105258. He's still around from time-to-time. I personally prefer we all drop the name-calling and sarcastic jabs and simply practice the golden rule. Then again, I'm not a mod. They make the calls.

    Q&A with Otis [link]

    LOL. Love Otiz.
  23. What are some logical landing spots for Gortat if the Magic trade him? For whom or what? Houston? Dallas? Washington? Toronto? OKC? As to Sac, why would they want/need him? Am I causing a thread jam by not putting this in the official trade thread? Either way ... ready, set, go.

Anyone else find it interesting that the Suns are not maxing out Amare? Are they just dumb or brilliant?
