Otis has been extremely high on and targeting Paul for the whole year. This comes from a VERY good inside source. I don't know if the interest is current, but I imagine it is. Unfortunately, I don't see us offering a better package than NJ (Harris + #3). If somehow we were able land Paul without giving up Jameer, the obvious place to try and trade Jameer is to Philly for Iggy. Frankly, I don't see Paul being traded, let alone us acquiring him if he is.

It seems rather fishy Jameer likes him, and we need PG depth and a scoring punch off the bench. Plus, Otis is a master with his poker face. You would think we would at least work-out Dominique though. quote: Originally posted by Jareth Cutestory:If we get Dominique, that shifts our entire offseason. I can't picture us going after Watson at that point. Agreed. We did, but he declined after his workout with the Bulls. Not exactly true from what he told me. Still he was very vague about Orlando.

Makes too much sense b-ball wise and 'Nique has been acting odd when I've asked him about Orlando. Meanwhile, he's told me he wants to play in FL. Hmmm... Yeah. Miami. Yes, he's directly told me Pat likes him. And if I were Dominique, I'd obviously want to play in Miami, too. Still I am not buying that Otis isn't interested.

Orlando gets a young wing to pair with Dwight. Philly gets a starting center, clears major money and opens up the future for Turner. (Not sure how VC fits in Philly. Lol.) Would probably have to throw in all our picks, AND get Brand's contract (meaning we'd have to get rid of more players). Even then, I don't see it... Perhaps. I think the consensus around the league is that Iggy is good but that his contract is rather large. No way I'd do that trade if it required we somehow take back Brand. -

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/ne...aw-paulhornets062110 Back to the Chris Paul dream for a minute. I truly believe we have a legit shot at the guy IF they are listening to offers. A package around Jameer and picks for Paul and a bad contract is solid. Jameer's trade value must be high right now, as he displayed he can really elevate his game in the playoffs. -
For the record, I'm still hoping for an Iggy trade. Let's be honest.... It would be hard for our go-to wing to play worse than VC did against Boston. Plus, either Deng or Iggy are like two decades younger than VC. EDIT: Actually, Deng is 8 years younger than VC, while Iggy is 7 years younger.

quote: Originally posted by Jareth Cutestory:Deng/17th for Gortat/MP/29th makes more sense. I'm with Jareth on this one. The only hesitation is Deng's contract, which is bloated. However, he's young and seems very coachable. I think he can still develop.

Drain-O, you beat me to it! Unfortunately, Dominique hasn't worked out for the Magic and doesn't plan to work out for them, either. In talking with him, I couldn't quite figure out whether that is his decision or Otis' decision.

I meant young ... seemingly compared to Jack. I, btw, would be in that "young" camp, too. (I'm in my mid-30s). And to the post, yeah, I feel ya. This discussion deserves the lil' dancin' monster:

I still think we might be players with Philly. Check out this article: http://ownersedge.fanball.com/...season-Preview-Magic. -
Thanks! Ditto.

Steve Nash in Toronto is a distinct possibility

What a strange article. Doesn't ring with reliability. As to trading a first and AB for Nash, I think that would be a mistake for Toronto and don't see it happening. -
Is anyone BELIEVING that we will come out O.K. after all the trades and draft

But, that's obviously the reason for this thread; Jareth is now the undisputed king of the boards/world/believe. Admit it. You eat and breathe believe and want to be the king. Jareth threatens your e-dominion. BTW, everyone, what happened to the Garrity awards??? -

At this point, I'd be shocked if James returns to Cleveland. From a talent point of view, they are average compared to the Bulls, Nets or Clippers. Plus, he has already given them some of the best years of his life.

From Hoopsworld: quote: The Cavs happen to have a very attractive package to entice the Raptors with. They could package up Mo Williams, Antawn Jamison, and J.J. Hickson for Jose Calderon and Chris Bosh, which would be a hard deal for anyone else in the league to top. Two All-Star caliber players and a promising prospect is a very nice consolation prize for losing Bosh, especially considering that the Los Angeles Lakers are highly unlikely to put Andrew Bynum on the table after winning consecutive championships. Read more NBA news and insight: http://www.hoopsworld.com/Stor...=16520#ixzz0rJPZQydq http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=16520 Umm, no, that isn't a "very attractive package." Mo and Jose are close to a wash and AJ is owed a lot of money, is old, and plays the exact position as AB. Add to that Hickson, who is also a PF. This is poor speculation and analysis. No way Toronto would do that trade.
