Orton ... Good ... or the Best Ever? Hmmm ...
-
Pick makes sense to me. If we keep him, he's a top, raw big to replace Tat down the line.

Dominique to Dallas!!!
-
While I am not going to do a "Draft Profile" for Dominique Jones, I do want to start a thread for him. He is a 6'5'' combo guard with a 6'9'' wingspan who can score in bunches. Having grown up in Lake Wales, FL, he knows what it takes to play with the NBA guys, as he has worked out with Amare, Tracy and others since high school. I know Dominique very well, and he works very hard on his game and conditioning. He is driven to succeed, as he wants so much a different future than his upbringing. Will he make it in the NBA? I think so, but I'm curious of your opinion. Moreover, I'm curious whether you think he'd be a good fit for our Blue and White?

Hobo, ask your friend what she knows!

Just broke out some Hot Tamales. We're good.

Dang it, man! I want Paul so badly! Trade Rev, Otiz, if that's what it takes!!! Lol!!!
-
For the record, I wasn't told they aren't working on deals. I was simply told there is no truth to the Paul deal being done. Sorry, I wish I could get more. Keep in mind, this same source said last night we are hot for Paul. I'm sure Otiz is trying everything.

Confirmed. I just got a text from an incredible source (Junkie's main person) that says there is no truth to a Paul deal being done. Sorry guys. What about a deal in general? I can't ask more. This source would know it's beyond a personal exchange.

"A Guide to Draft Night" by Doug Gottlieb quote: 4. Value guards who do not shoot the 3 if they can get to the rim consistently Tyreke Evans has a Rookie of the Year award and Rajon Rondo nearly won another NBA title without a consistent jumper. While both must improve in order to leapfrog into an All-NBA discussion, if you can get to the rim and finish or get fouled, you can play in the zone-legal NBA. Dominique Jones is not Dwyane Wade, but there is a Wade-like quality to his game. And while Jordan Crawford and Terrico White are better jump shooters, Jones' ability to make you foul him is a more valuable asset, as they are all in between positions. http://insider.espn.go.com/nba...lieb_doug&id=5322231

The Official "trade for ____ ? Thread"
Soul Bro replied to Jareth Cutestory's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Nets are trying to cut payroll. Could we do a trade for Dooling and Lee using our TE? Dooling only has a partially guaranteed contract. -
Hmmm. Why wouldn't Memphis do the Mayo for Ellis swap? I'd much rather have Mayo than Ellis given Mayo's small deal and style of play.

LOD (and other mods), I understand. Thanks for the feedback and interaction.

How anyone could believe that didn't warrant a suspension is well beyond me. Thanks, DOM. Makes sense to me. In the end, I hope this place can incorporate more grace and respect between posters. Are the Mods alone responsible for that? I don't think so. I am just trying to provide some honest and helpful feedback to all of us, including me.

And before you go "Well, Junkie was suspended, maybe you should be too then", save it. I don't antagonize people or discussions on this forum. Jareth, come on. You and a few others specialize in this department, especially towards Junkie. I agree about your age gap comment in some ways. Junkie is over 20 years older than you and truly doesn't get much of your humor, let alone appreciate it. He feels you and others antagonize the living heck out of him. It's painful to watch it happen. The fact that Junkie is over 20 years older than Jareth (who's old himself) and acts the way he does doesn't help his case at all. I hear you, TT. I am just sharing what I see.

I'm with Echo. At times I think we all could get suspended. Was Junkie "trolling" by posting derogatory or inflammatory stuff? I don't know in this instance b/c I missed the offense. I know in the past his actions have warranted discipline. He's gone bonkers at times. To be fair, however, some of the sarcastic replies and jabs at him seem to constitute hazing and harassing, too. It's like squirting gas on fire until Junkie blows, which seems to be the intent of certain posters. For the record, I enjoy the general humor of the board. It is often hilarious and a nice break from a stressful work environment. Still I wish we could have a community that better respected one another. Smack, man, I wish you posted more and know you are reading this thread. I always enjoyed reading your stuff.

Rev, that made me laugh. "If it takes Jameer to get Chris Paul." Otiz is too in love with Jameer or he's playing great poker. In terms of the Junkie suspension, I want to speak up as a fellow vet poster. Despite his negativity, which had turned constant and very annoying to some, I think Junkie's month long suspension is a tough deal. He was one of the first ten posters on this Board, making him one of our vets in this community. I've had plenty of major spats with him, even one in the last 24 hours, so I know he can be difficult, like we all can be. Still he needs some grace to be shown to him, as do we all when it's needed. I especially ask for grace for some of the older vets that roam this Board. It's painfully obvious the humor of the younger generations is often misinterpreted or misunderstood by them. (I'm sounding old myself here). Anyway, I'm privileged to post here and enjoy it a great deal. Thanks for listening/reading. -Soul
