I like Key as a Tony Allen type, though I'm not sure he's a back-up PG. I like the possibilities for back-up PG: Key Watson(s) Lowry Duhon Blake Ridnour Felton

I agree that Portland slightly wins that trade but I think it's close. Rudy has only been in the league for two years, has been stuck behind Roy and is still young. Everyone on this board ... okay not the true homers ... would have wanted Rudy last summer instead of JJ. Given the right situation, I think he could thrive.

  6. This is a new list I've not seen on the board. Some interesting names to consider. Here are guys that I think would be great fits for the Magic. I'll leave the top ten alone b/c we pounded those names in the ground: quote: 25. Travis Outlaw I really like his all around abilities. I would like him to stay healthy and if so can easily score 15-plus points off anyone

  8. Hinrich would be great starting at SG next to Jameer. He is a far better defender than Vince and knows how to play in a system. I still think this is a total smoke screen.

Vince Carter Marcin Gortat Mickael Pietrus Brandon Bass Otis is calling everyone who will pick up the phone, and listening to all deals. My point being, if we wake up one day and it says "Magic acquire Rudy Gay" after there being absolutely no mention of it, don't be surprised. It's how the guy works. That makes this offseason that much more nerve racking, and exciting. Nice post. Pretty spot on.

By far and away, Otiz is closest to Nelson on the Magic. I'm hoping that he'll see the light on this situation if it requires us trading Nelson for Paul.

    Focus on basketball. D12 could learn a lot from Michael's intensity and focus: classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="480" height="385" > value="transparent" > value="never" > /> /> value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8sZJgxnPe0&hl=en_US&fs=1&" /> /> /> pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" wmode="transparent" allowScriptAccess="never" src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8sZJgxnPe0&hl=en_US&fs=1&" width="480" height="385" />

    Vince for Arenas Swap?

quote: Now that John Wall is a Wizard, the idea is that the team will start him and Gilbert Arenas in the backcourt. Arenas is more of a scoring point guard, so he can occupy more of a shooting guard role for the team now. With the team trading for Kirk Hinrich, they'll have a solid role player off the bench who can mentor Wall. But there have also been rumblings the Wizards will get a fresh start after Arenas' gun incident last season that warranted a long suspension by trading him. Yet, he has five years and $80 million left on his contract. Not exactly an easy one to move, especially with the incident and Gil's history of injury. A buyout seems unlikely as well, as he's seemingly owed too much money for something reasonable to be worked out. But in a series of tweets on Thursday evening, ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher thinks a trade can and will be done. One possible team could be the Magic. GM Otis Smith is an Arenas fan from their time together in Golden State, and there were reportedly Arenas-Vince Carter trade talks this week. ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher on Twitter Teams interested in Arenas, and he could be moved by October "Those wondering how Wall/Hinrich/Arenas fit, don't. Arenas will be elsewhere by Oct. Hinrich was great supporting Derrick Rose, will be here, too. There have been all sorts of supposedly unmovable contracts -- all of which have been moved. There's no such thing [as an unmovable contract]. And just for clarification: that's opinion on Arenas being moved. I know there are interested teams, that's all. Will say more when able."

Depending on other moves, these could be great pickups. We are always clamoring for youth, potential, and athleticism. Well, we got it in spades tonight. We picked up two guys that if they were cut or available we'd see 10 threads saying "Daniel Orton?" etc. Orton would have been a lottery pick more than likely next year. He's low risk/high reward at this point. And Robinson was a steal. I think if this kid comes in prepared to work his butt off, he could make the rotation at some point in the year. This actually was a good draft for us. Bump. Agree.
