All I know is every night when I'm watching the game I hear Goukas frequently praising Keith's tough, hard-nosed defense. And that's good enough for me. You know, even good defenders have off night's too. thanks man, way to insult me

Magic team doctor not so hopeful about Battie (Sentinel)

****. I would really like to see Battie back in action. He's a big and a true PF. But perhaps this is for the better. The way we're playing now it seems as though we can go deep into the playoffs and god forbid win a championship. Anyways, if TB4 came back and injured himself even more, i can't even fathom what Tony's future would look like.

Jim Rome - "I Love Adonal Foyle"

Adonal in my eyes is one of the perfect people to base your life on. Not on his style, not on his basketball, but instead his character and moral reasoning. he has enlightened me with almost everything he does and i'm very glad that he is on our team.

    More Versatile than Turk ?

quote: Originally posted by dullalive: quote: Originally posted by jack daniel 999:Since he's so versatile where should he play ? PG...SG...SF or PF. Or should he just be our utility player ? With the way he is playing give him 20 minutes on SF, 15-20 minutes at the guard. Depending on how our PG plays he can take over as a playmaker. that's what i love about turk. he's like the safeguard on the team, if anyone gets injured from the PG, SG, SF, or PF positions, he can step in and contribute with their minutes. he is truly amazing. and this coming from a guy that despised Turk last year.

    is Keyon playing today?
  10. quote: This team is currently 3rd in the Eastern Conference and playing very well without contributions from JJ Redick. What makes hime think the coach or GM should do anything diferent than they currently are? Should we take a few losses on the chin and give up home court advantage in the playoffs so we can fulfill JJ's request for playing time? Should we sacrifice the team's development for the sake of one player's development? Agree 99.9% J.J. needs to grow up. A lot of this is because of his frustration to play real minutes due to his desire to the game; earlier he said that he was suffering from depression somewhat BUT I do think he is whining more than he should. Honestly, he is on one of the best teams in the East and the NBA. He should embrace the fact that he has landed on a playoff competitor and he should keep working extremely hard for his spot next season. I know you can only push yourself so far, but JJ needs to just keep trying and be persistent. His time will come; a situation might present itself for him to play. If it doesn't this season/playoff, then he has next season. If J.J. is riding pine next season while working hard and being professional, then i do think he should get out of Orlando. But, for now, he should sit back and enjoy the success of the team.
  11. who should my favorite player on the Magic be when he's gone? i think I'm feeling Marcin Gortat or perhaps Auggie
  12. i know there are a lot of Redick threads being created; just wanted to keep you guys informed

    For Arguments Sake: The Draft

Serge Ibaka looks like he can be a great compliment to Dwight at the PF. He works hard and can be molded very easily. From the looks of our pick, Ibaka would greatly help our team. The potential of this guy is sky high.

We should stop the directive hate, but i know that won't end haha. Anyways, i know I've directed some hate his way before, but i think we should embrace different outlooks and debate them, not post some negative words of advice to him. I know you didn't mean anything by your post, but I'm speaking to all the other people on this forum who continue to hate other members on the board; we are all here for one purpose, we're Magic fans.

Magic GM vows he won't meet Redick's trade request(Denton)

It just seems like too often he thinks his pedigree is worth something on the next level. Sorry, but it's not. I'm not knocking JJ's ability at all. Could he be better on the defensive end? Sure. Is he lethal on the offensive end? Yep. But for whatever reason, his efforts haven't been substantial enough to warrant him getting additional NBA minutes. By making an issue out of it, and he does it every week in his blog, he is putting pressure on his bosses to give into his demands. In no other profession does this type of behavior get rewarded. Nowhere can you walk into your bosses office and tell them about your academic credentials and your 60+ hour work weeks, while complaining through your co-workers, and demand a raise or a promotion. And as a past collegiate athlete who worked my tail off for every achievement I was rewarded with, sure I almost resent JJ's entitlement attitude toward this entire situation. Being hungry for playing time, and insisting you deserve it, are two very different things. It just seems like there is a certain amount of professionalism and maturity lacking in JJ's actions. I totally respect your opinion, Smack, I truly believe you have a lot of intelligence to bring to the board, but I'd like to question your view on JJ's attitude. In his blogs, I don't believe he is whining, I think he's expressing his frustration. Taken out of one of his blogs regarding his playing time he writes: "I played a little bit in three of the four games. Significant minutes are hard to come by at this point- so I guess I

has there been an augustine thread yet?

don't know why James is getting more playing time. In my eyes, everytime i see him step on the court, i see heart, passion, and ambition to play. Sometimes i think he tries too hard, making himself look almost very nervous. I think with the time he was given to showcase his talent, i think we should embrace his efforts, don't bench him for the whole game. We need better rotations, and i think Stan's working to fix that. Maybe not as fast as i want it to be, but in time, i think he'll get things right.
