    Jareth's Tweet Party!

I read a post that said our bed has pretty much been made, but I disagree. I think we need another big that can impact this team (as do some so-called NBA analysts) and if we are willing to disrupt our roster for that to happen, what stops us from pushing forward with a more appealing deal that may arise.

Is it a requirement to be a masochist when rooting for the Magic?

I follow Wizard games....their fanbase must want to just keel over. 0-25 on the road.

SVG: Magic Not Ready to Contend

I agree. Randolph is a double double machine. He's an offensive threat in the post and on the boards. I had no qualms with that at all. Our defense leaves much to be desired. With Nelson and Arenas at the helm, we lack defensive pressure from the PG position. When they are both in the game, well, it isn't pretty. Defense stems from the point guard since the opposition's PG is running their offense. Imagine Derrick Rose against Nelson, ouch. Dwight can only do so much and currently we have a defensive scheme tailor made to push the ball handler inside to Dwight. When DH is out of the game or out of position, we are screwed. Think about it -- Nelson, J Rich, Hedo, Anderson, Redick, Arenas and company are not lock down defenders by any means. Analysts are convinced that Otis is not finished with acquiring pieces to fit a championship caliber puzzle. With the trade deadline closing in, I'm sure he's looking for a defensive-minded swingman and a big. With that said, I like this team.

lol He's the one who injured JJ when we played the Cavs  I don't know if we would have won if he played, but the game was pretty damn close. BTW, don't know if this was posted yet:

Your sig is awesome, Jareth. We win and Paul George gets >20 minutes
  15. J Will has my support. I don't know if he's facing a hard situation in the rollercoaster we call Life, if he did something dodgy, or if he wants to retire now.

Stein: Magic interested in T. Murphy if bought out by G.S.

I wonder how Boston's defense would stand up to a lineup of: Nelson/Arenas Redick/Arenas Richardson Turkoglu Anderson That's five guys who can hit the three and spread the floor with Perkins out of the paint and guarding Anderson around the arc and Garnett guarding Turk also on the perimeter. We'd also have movement, cutters and screens going every which way. Don't forget about the pick and roll with RA. WTF is Boston going to do with that? Go into zone? And that would also leave gaps in the D. I'm interested to see something like that.

Arenas edges Ryan Anderson in shooting contest

I think his downfall is his shot selection in games. He needs to be more judicious and aware of the offensive situation. Meaning, if he doesn't get a solid pass, if he is off balance, if he is guarded closely -- do not shoot the ball. Be patient, pick your spots. That is why attacking the basket is so crucial. It opens up your game and when the defender gives you some cushion, then let it fly.

Stein: Magic interested in T. Murphy if bought out by G.S.

hmm..so just reduced minutes for all of the above. I think that's the best scenario if we sign Murphy, but I hope everyone who takes a hit in playing time responds positively to the situation. "Competition" between players at the same position is a great problem to have, I just hope egos don't collide. I guess it adds incentive to the players to give 100% every time they check in -- if you play well, you stay on the floor.

Our frontcourt rotation will get interesting if we grab Troy. Hedo, Anderson, Murphy, Bass, and of course Howard. I wonder who the odd man out would be.

Arenas and Van Gundy Struggle to Find Common Ground

How can we expect Arenas to put up points with Ryan Anderson on the floor But in all seriousness, I think he just needs time. He needs court time, practice time, anything he can get. Arenas has been haunted with injuries throughout his past (and hasn't been playing enough NBA ball recently), and now he is out of D.C. after 8 years. He needs to become comfortable with the team and with his body. IMO only time will tell if he can achieve that swagger and production he once had.
  23. Honestly, I thought Anderson and Bass were sharing that role as backup center. Maybe I'm wrong, but when Dwight goes to the bench I find RA checking in half the time. I think the sub for center is dependent on rest and match ups.
  24. If RA starts for the remainder of the season, who is backing up Dwight? Bass, who is undersized and injured? Malik Allen? I'd consider starting Anderson if or when we make a move to acquire another big man who can successfully play the center position.
  25. I've never been a fan of Troy Murphy but that sure would be a good solution if Bass decides to undergo the surgery. Don't we have to trade to get Murphy? I don't think he was bought out or waived.
