For the out-of-state Magic fans...
sharp/7/shooter replied to NJ_MagicFan's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
yup, League Pass is the way to go. If you get the package for your TV, LP Broadband comes with it, so you can watch the Magic games almost anywhere. Fan from Boston btw and looking forward to see my UCF college letter in the mail. -
over the past few games, i've been seeing some shining qualities of Bogans, he has great and sometimes outstanding defense for the first three quarters. his offense is very suspect during the first quarters of almost every game. when he drives, it's probably a miss, he shoots the three terrible when near a defender and he is likely one of the slowest players on the team. BUT, for some odd reason, Keith TURNS IT ON in the last minutes of the 4th. He's automatic for the big shot in the finishing moments and he hustles more than everyone on the floor. The only thing i see as a minus for Bogans in the 4th is his defense. He is likely matched up against the opposing team's scorer and gets taken advantage of. But anyways, whenever i see Bogans shoot a three in the 1st half, i think it's a miss, but in the fourth quarter, i think it's ice water. other thoughts?

Redick ahead of Courtney Lee and Bogans on Depth Chart?
sharp/7/shooter posted a topic in Orlando Magic Forum
"Head coach Stan Van Gundy said Wednesday that Redick has moved ahead of Keith Bogans and Courtney Lee on the depth chart, the Orlando Sentinel reports. Spin: It looks like Redick may finally be leaving the witness protection program. He's barely seen the floor in each of his first two seasons; but Van Gundy must have seen enough improvement in Redick's defense to justify giving him extra playing time during the upcoming season. Redick will still come off the bench; but given his ascension up the depth chart, he's now someone fantasy owners should keep an eye on." This is from the status alert from ESPN.com. I found it while searching magic players on ESPN's fantasy basketball under the free agency section. It can also be located under Redick's ESPN profile in red text: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=3024 Read and discuss fellow magic fans. I for one am happy for JJ to move up on the depth chart, since he's my favorite player on the team behind dwight. BUT I still think it's too early to come to a permanent depth chart. Lee has shown promise and bogans may be just having a rough start. Time will tell. P.S. since this is ESPN, i think that this statement is legitimate, but i haven't seen this news anywhere else. ESPN says that the Orlando Sentinel reported this, but i have yet to find that. if this is wrong, someone call me out on it. -

Joel Brigham: I think Steve's right, even though the Magic have been giving JJ more burn than he's accustomed to this preseason. In the few times I've talked to JJ when he's been through Chicago, he is one of the most unhappy people I've ever seen in an NBA locker room. He hates not getting into games and I really think it's clear that playing for Orlando has not been what he expected out of his pro career. He's going to bolt for nothing if Otis Smith doesn't trade him and get something out of it before that can happen. For that reason alone, I think he'll be moved (but probably not until closer to the deadline in February). Not only that, but for some reason JJ still has some value in the trade market. http://www.hoopsworld.com/Chat.asp?CHAT_TOPICS_ID=34 good find, ball junkie. i never knew how disconnected jj was from the team. there are many articles that point to jj being traded. this whole situation is a real mystery to me, i don't know what to believe. we have jj saying he wants to be traded, then he likes orlando (but secretly he doesn't), he moves up in the rotation...but he's likely to be traded; it seems like a never-ending storyline. -

nice to see Kebo contributing pretty nicely. JJ with another pretty disappointing game. i can't wait to see the regular season rotation. and was everyone falling asleep at the free throw line, 60% is not where we want to be -

This guy is nothing special. I liked Mo Evans. He took the game seriously, was clean cut, showed up to play every game! No excuses! If Evans and Dooling want more money to stay in Orlando, then pay them their worth. But this guy isn't taking the Magic any where and to get this excited over a signing is beyond me. no offense or anything, but didn't mo single-handedly cost us a playoff game with his lack of enthusiasm and will to play? mo was a great player and i enjoyed him in a magic uniform, but i think pietrus brings all that he had and more. -

just some visual aid: further on, this looks like a very interesting prospect, and one that could be extremely beneficial for the magic. never really thought about picking koufos until now, and it really blew my mind. this guy could play along with dwight, sharing similar roles with Battie (although Battie is much more of a banger, almost completely contrary to the style of play Koufos brings). He could come off the bench perhaps to catch our opponent off guard with a different approach of our play. He has an established offensive and defensive skill set of which he could branch out on to improve. the only thing is, i don't think he could back up or play in place of Dwight at the center position because of his lack of power. On nbadraft.net, the mock draft places him at 14, picked by Golden State, if he is in the mix at 22, i can't find a fault. now if someone like Rush is still there, we are in a pickle. -
haha, it's kind of funny. at the beginning of this season, i really didn't like how bogans played, i began to despise every minute he was on the floor. up until the early middle of the season i had this feeling until i starting enjoying the positives that he gives to the team. stellar defense, a great perimeter shot (though off at times but hell, all shooters are cold at some point), and he's starting to slash to the basket fairly well. I was changed into a bogans, not necessarily fan but i liked watching him play. The last game against the Raptors the familiar feeling of hatred towards Keith kept arising while watching brick after brick. The fact of the matter was that towards the end of the game, i wanted to jump up and hug the guy. keith is a great contributor to the Magic, and i hope he stays consistent with those clutch shots to seal games throughout the playoffs. Go Keith! Go Magic!!

Those are pretty exaggerated hypotheticals, don't you think? the first is pretty exaggerated, but the second is probable. Everyone here (hopefully) would want J.J. to play well in a Magic uniform and I'm pretty sure that the young man can do that. I'm a magic fan 1st, Redick fan 2nd, and I'm confident that we will keep J.J. through the adversity and here he will contribute in the long run. -
was the streaker shown on tv? hahaha

Hansbrough is nothing short of a beast in college basketball. He shows a lot of heart and effort for the game. He sacrifices his body on many occasions to draw fouls which shows he knows how to get to the line. Note that almost every time a foul is called, it is usually in the favor of TH, which pisses me off to a certain degree. As for his range. That is an area that he is working on in every practice and it shows. In the past few games, he has hit a 15ft-18ft jump shot on occasion. As for him being a solid pro, no one really knows. I thought Redick was going to be a tremendous professional, but that has not shown to be true yet; same with Yi Jianlian. The whole subject of someone becoming a good pro is unpredictable unless you are talking about a talent of the caliber of say kevin durant, or one michael beasley; lets say players fighting for the number one position in the draft: then you have a discussion.
